                Hidden Gem”

This lodge is a hidden gem tucked away outside Hluhluwe. The bungalows are even more impressive then they appear in the pictures, we stayed in Secrets of the Forest 8 which is right at the end of the path and very secluded. Every morning we woke to bird song and saw various animals making their way through the forest. Just as good as the lodgings is the service. The hostess who checked us in and looked after us during our stay was amazing as were the other staff, meals were enormous and beautifully cooked. The owners are also very friendly and seem passionate about what they have created. Practically the lodge is about 45min - 1hr from the main game reserves in the area and St Lucia, there are some dirt roads involved but no worse then you'll encounter elsewhere. I would recommend at least a couple nights to explore this wonderful area and relax in this beautiful lodge.

Very peaceful, reception was great, the accommodation best I have seen. It was nice to sit in the Jacuzzi with a glass of wine and look at the stars. I will defiantly booking again. THANK YOU.

If you looking for a quiet location, nothing fancy in the budget rooms then its perfect. Wifi in the dinning area, no tv and limited cell communication but 15min from town and a very peaceful venue. Suited my needs for a bed and place to catch up emails before a restful night. Also a great stopover venue on trips to Mozambique.

The place is fairly allocated with friendly staff and management. Good food and clean. It's an ideal place for couples who look for quiet moments. However the place has no TV or Dstv, the rooms has no TVs and the network is very bad.

                Non-stay at Leopard Walk”

We booked an overnight stay at Leopard Walk but circumstances prevented us from getting in to the Lodge. The Lodge was difficult to find with our Garmin trying to send us up roads that did not exist. Finally got to gate following signs for Lodge from highway, but found Lodge to be quite isolated with a long drive up a private driveway/track next to electrified security fence. Arrived at closed gate about 6pm (getting dark) and were not able to get mobile phone contact with Lodge (found out later Vodacom had problems that day), so we eventually gave up and found alternative lodging in Hluhluwe (at extra cost as Leopard Walk Lodge was pre-paid and had non-refundable conditions). We received no response to our email to the Lodge explaining the situation. Can't comment on the Lodge facilities and staff as we didn't stay there, but it sounded like a great place and was a good deal and we were looking forward to staying there. I've included nominal ratings for these to be able to submit this review.

Nice little resort in small game reserve”

The Leopard walk lodge is a nice place to stay but in the middle of no where. It is signposted but it's at least 20 kms from the north gate of Hluhluwe park and the last 5 kms of that are on a gravel road but that was well maintained. Arriving in the dark would be a problem. The breakfast was very nice with plenty available on a buffet style. We had a meal on one of our two evenings but were disappointed with that. The room was small but adequate, we didn't find the hot tub. The nice thing is while you're eating your breakfast zebras, impala or wildebeest walk past as it's based on a small game reserve. We also established by talking to the owner on our last morning that they do have leopards there but you would need to get up really early and go out with a tracker to have a chance of seeing one. I would recommend this resort and I would give it 3*.

Quient location, interesting room and helpfull staff.

We stayed in "secrets of the forest" room which was quietly isolated. Nice room with its own hot tub and you are able to see some limited small game from the room. The lodge is within its own small game park in a nice quiet location. Only downside was that they lock the gate at 6.30pm so you have little choice but to dine in their restaurant. The choice of food was very limited and quality and value was pretty average compared to what we found else ware in South Africa.

HUGE, beautifully decorated guest cottages. Cloud Nine mattresses for a great night's sleep. Owner's and staff go out of their way to make your visit extra special

Leopard Walk Lodge is a little off the beaten path but absolutely out of this world! Agoda Members - It's a hidden gem! The guest cottages are beautiful and extremely private even though they are just a short walk to the main lodge where there is a comfortable lounge area, bar & restaurant overlooking a waterhole for the reserve's gamelife. The beds feature "Cloud Nine" mattresses and we experienced one of the best night's sleep ever! The bathrooms are huge and have both shower and jacuzzi tubs. Outside, a hot tub allows you to commune with nature. The complimentary breakfast is very good and dinner was delicious although there is no a la carte menu. Food and beverages are very reasonably priced. At night, a group of up to four zebras will come right up to the restaurant's railing looking for a tasty morsel to be offered by hand. A great photo op! The owners, Janet and Rob Cuthbertson are delightful and very knowledgeable about the area and especially the environmental/conservation issues facing South Africa today. All the staff are extremely helpful and polite. We spent two nights there and wished we had time for more! My husband and I give Leopard Walk Lodge "4 Thumbs Up!"

luxurious accommodation in a wonderful setting”

approximity to wildlife parks, privacy, luxurious but rustic

Not knowing what to expect this hidden gem was a great place to spend a couple of nights. On arrival, the friendly manager, Sebenzile upgraded us to larger accommodation with an outdoor Jacuzzi. The lodges(which can only be described as luxuriously rustic and much thought has gone into using local bush material) are hidden away from each other by the indigenous trees and bushes of the area so one feels as if there are no other guests. A great place for quiet and solitude. Dinner and breakfast is served under a thatched restaurant and animals come to quench their thirst at the adjacent waterhole. Sundowners can be ordered from the bar. We wanted to once again explore the nearby Hluhluwe wildlife park with its big five but did not want to use the more commercial establishments. The leopard Walk Lodge is a wonderful base from which to explore the area. It is also reasonably priced. My only concern is that the restaurant does not have an la carte menu and guests are restricted to what is prepared by the staff. We were told that there was a restaurant nearby that was open for dinner but could not find it. Rob, the owner graciously offered to look into extending the menu when I brought this up. All in all, a great place to commune with nature.
