More about Long Beach

Long Beach has some of the finest white sand on Koh Phi Phi. It’s located on the southernmost coast of the island, far enough from Ton Sai village to ensure accommodation in Long Beach is semi-secluded without forcing guests to give up the convenience of being near a town.

In fact, guests can even walk from Long Beach to Ton Sai village. It takes less than 30 minutes on foot but involves walking over some rocky terrain, which means it’s best done during daylight hours. Visitors who spend an evening in Ton Sai or Ao Lo Dalam and need to return after dark can charter a long-tail boat. The ride takes about five minutes.

A major highlight at Long Beach is snorkeling, and all of the resorts at Long Beach rent out the necessary equipment. Koh Phi Phi is well-known for its vibrant coral reefs, but most of the best locations are offshore and require a boat ride. Long Beach is one of the few places where snorkeling is possible right off the coast. Shark Point is a couple of hundred meters out to sea and is a feeding ground for harmless reef sharks.

Most of the people who stay in Long Beach hotels do so to escape the crowds, and relatively few day-trippers find their way here. This means local guests have the beach mostly to themselves. The same goes for the open-air beach bars outside of local resorts.
