Great as always”
You never feel more welcome then when you stay at the Lux Riverside, in Phnom Penh. Approach the front desk with a smile, and you'll get lots of cheery smiles back. Be aware that the Standard rooms are quite small, without some of the amenities of the larger rooms, and in one configuration, the Standard has a big support post right next to the bed, that makes getting in and out of bed very awkward. I would highly recommend paying the little bit extra for a Superior or even a Deluxe, as I will next time. The free breakfast buffet was nice, if not spectacular. I found the bacon quite tough and flavorless, and the fried eggs already a bit congealed. However, the coffee was good, and there was cold fresh juice and a selection of fresh fruits. The location couldn't be much better, particularly if you enjoy the nightlife, as the hotel is located on the very lively Street 136. The Riverside Quay is just half a block away, and the area is flooded with great restaurant choices.
SE Asia Traveler”
Lux Riverside Hotel and Apartments is located on Street 136 a very short distance from the Tonle Sap river and in the heart of the girly bar district. It’s guest friendly. A great value for the $$$. Tuk tuk are available 24/7 located in front of a hotel. Grab a free map of Phnom Penh and enjoy your holiday.
5-Star Staff and Great Value”
I've stayed here a few times now and it's by far my favorite place to stay in Phnom Penh. Each time I've stayed in the "apartment", which is excellent value for the money. The hotel itself is located on the infamous 136 st. with lots of nightlife entertainment, but the rooms are very quiet. It's also at the end of the street by the Riverside which has lots of great restaurant options, making it an excellent location even if nightlife isn't your thing. Large free breakfast buffet with Western and Asian choices, a convenient store and pharmacy literally across the street and around the corner, an ATM right next door, and at least 3 Tuk-tuks always sitting in front of the hotel to take you wherever you want to go. But the biggest reason I love this hotel is the staff. They really take pride in their jobs and it shows. Just absolutely wonderful.
Excellent location and great value. ”
Have been to Phnom Penh many times however this was my first time at the Lux Riverside. This hotel far exceeds other hotels in the are that I have stayed in with a comparable room price. The Lux is now my hotel of choice for future visits to Phnom Penh.
Super Value for $ & Best Location!”
The staff was superb and friendly ! Really love their true heart politeness and welcoming you to thier hotel . Make up service staff was fantastic too ! I stayed 4 night in 2 bedroom apartment at 9th floor . It really amaze me especially the Fridge !!!! I stayed many hotels in Phnom Penh and this time I won’t chanfe anymore , will definitely come back to Lux Riverside !
My Go To Hotel”
The staff at the Lux is its strength. I stay there as my hotel of choice when I'm in Phnom Penh. Guests are treated professionally but with a relaxed friendly manner. I prefer the one bedroom rooms as they are spacious with good views. The location in Street 136 is convenient to riverside, restaurants and nightlife.
We were on holiday ”

Kitchen if you want to cook . No mosquitoes . Friendly & helpful staff . Ok b'fast .. we'll stay at Lux Hotel if we visit Phnom Penh . Tks Lux Hotel .
Exceptional Staff and Service”
When you combine location, service, room quality and price, this is the best hotel in Phnom Penh. I always get the “one bedroom apartment” because it’s huge and comes with a washing machine and a rack to dry your clothes on the porch. And the Lux staff are just the best!
Whilst the hotel is among the older ones in Phnom Penh it is in an ideal location just 100 meters from the riverside drive. Although the rooms are a bit dated they are in good condition and I had a bedroom, sitting room and kitchenette and there was even a washing machine in the room!!! All in all great value and a very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast could be improved but it was quite adequate. Located in the centre of the hottest oart of town you are surrounded by good restaurants and places of entertainment.
This hotel was nice and clean. Very well maintained with a great staff!!!”
Pro's Clean hotel, spotless rooms, professional staff, great location, rooms are very well maintained. I booked the standard room and was prepared to upgrade if needed. When I walked in I was thought " this room is perfect". There were even around 12 English tv channels. When I return to Phnom Penh I will only stay at the Lux!!!
hotel serious about doing business, and keeping guests happy always!”
my first review after many visits to this hotel. cambodia city has power outage problems. sometimes power cut during your stay, and other hotels do not have their own Genset (power generator), so you are screwed with no electricity. with this hotel, worry no longer... equipped with Genset and huge water tank. so you can enjoy your stay! the hotel staff are always willing to serve you with a genuine smile. if you are undecided about where to stay, make sure the hotel have generators. and Lux riverside hotel does!
This hotel is great for the Riverside Area of Phnom Penh. Staff is friendly, polite, and engaged. Breakfasts are “ok”, coffee not great. Rooms are clean, housekeeping staff good. Requests for assistance from front desk are almost immediately answered. No pool, no health club. Overall great value for the money.
A Return to Paradise”
Following a disappointing stay in 2017, I took the opportunity to return once again to the Lux Riverside Hotel when I was able to return to my favourite room - Room 168 located on the roof. It's simply paradise being separated from the other rooms ensuring the utmost privacy and spectacular view across the city, the confluence of the rivers and north towards the river islands. The private balcony meant I could relax, read or simply listen to the city day and night. The staff were exceptional especially the young doorman who helped me with PassApp. I'm looking forward to June 2019 when I can renew my acquaintance with my slice of paradise.
Good Tourist Location, Good Room, Great Parking, So-So Breakfast”
I have stayed at this hotel many times. The main reason is that I can get to the hotel without driving my car very much into Phnom Penh. Easy in and easy out! I use Tuk-Tuks to get around Phnom Penh. The attached parking garage is literally just a few steps to the hotel, it is guarded and free. The standard and the superior rooms are both OK. If you are staying two or three nights the standard room should do it. The superior room has the same furniture just spread out. The breakfast is basic, but it would be acceptable except that everything (fried egg, french toast, ham, fried rice, etc. is cold since they don't light the fires under the buffet servers. It is in the heart of the River Tourist district.
Great if you want to party and be right by the Riverside”
We are a single couple, so we like the more refined and roughs sides of Phnom Penh. The location was perfect, plenty of eating options and tons of little bars. You should seriously pop in and have a beer in these places, they are a hoot. Free breakfast was great, the staff, wow...so kind and sweet and smile at you every morning when you see them. I would very much recommend this place and would stay here every time I visit Phnom Penh.
I stayed here two days while visiting Phnom Penh City. Near the riverside and nightlife. Hotel is clean with friendly staff. I would only warn one thing, that if your room has a window that looks into the corridor then please change. The curtains do not block out the light. The first night I slept in a room and keep waking up because of the light. The breakfast is ok, average nothing special but comes with the room.
I clocked up six months in an apartment and now stay there every weekend when I go to Phnom Penh. It's location is right where I need it and the staff is always very service oriented. Some rooms are getting a bit tired, but they are continuously upgrading the facilities. It's not the cheapest around; however I'm not a budget traveller.
Wi-fi not very good which was OK for me but not for business travel. It went down for 36 hours while I was there. Very noisy as major works were going on inside which would have been OK for business traveller but not a tourist who liked to sleep late as loud banging commenced before 9am and went on most of the day. room lovely, big and clean but TV picture very poor which seems to be common in Phnom Penh.
Very nice hotel in the heart of Pnom Pehn.”
The location is just off of Riverside on the very popular 136 st. I've only stayed in PP twice, but this is by far the best experience I have had so far here at the Lux Hotel. My favorite Expat bar, Cadillac, is just around the corner, and in front of the hotel on 136 is many excellent bars, restaurants, massage, you name it. And plenty of tuk tuk here too, usually only 2$ to anywhere in the city. The room is modern with a nice big bed, a little firm, but not lumpy. The room has a nice closet with empty fridge and two free water bottles a day. A large safe too, my laptop even fit in. The shower is nice, always have hot water. Air con always cold, and the TV had a nice selection of channels, especially if your like me and watch Korean and Chinese dramas...lol
Best location for the short term rentals.”
I was thinking about staying at this apartment like a monthly rental. This is appealing because there are no long term contracts like traditional apartments. Although the furnishings were a little dated, everything you could possibly need are in this room. All you need are one of the many convenience stores to stock up on beverages and snacks. The ability to cook in the room and the balcony were added pluses. The location is possibly the best location you can get for Phnom Penh. The night life is within walking distance so you don't have to worry about motos/tuktuks. The front desk is also helpful in answering questions about anything Cambodian. I would not stay here if I was in town for a year, I would get an apartment. But if you here short term, one month, three months, etc..... It would work out great. Email them before booking to see if you can get a discount for a monthly rental!
