"Theremore the bathroom was nice."

The hotel’s superb location and proximity to the subway makes it a perfect base for exploring the city’s many attractions. The Dongsishitiao metro station is a mere two-minute walk from the hotel. A visit to important historical sites such as Tiananmen Square and Imperial Palace will only take around 10 minutes in a taxi. Shoppers’ paradise Wangfujing Avenue will take about the same amount of time. The eye-catching design of the hotel is a sight in itself! Heavily influenced by architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the front of the hotel resembles an ancient Chinese palace. A word of warning, though, as there is no elevator in the three-story hotel, so it is not recommended for elderly or disabled guests. Good serivce with a smile; call you by your name; ”
stayed here a couple of nights. became too sick to get up and pay; they understood and told me i could pay later. room abit small though and there was no window. staff very friend and cute. cute hotel worker came to give me toilet paper at 3am they dont give enough toilet paper!!
Decent hotel. no window which was bad. Bonus was that customer service was nice and extremely friendly. However, they didn't give you a lot of toilet paper, so you would have to frequently ask for more.
Ok hotel, Ok location, poor breakfast”
Pros: close to the subway station, clean rooms, can exchange money in the front desk, check out 12:00, small deposit (200rmb). Cons: poor breakfast (need to ask the employees to refill everything), no one to operate the expreso coffee machine, hard beds, bad pillows, not many English speakers in the front desk, did not pick up my laundry bag.
Location is close to the station and rooms were clean. But one thing is bad. The young staff was angry and her voice showed her irritation at my mistake in the restaurant. And one bottle of water has passed the expiration date, 2013.
Value for money! Right beside train station!”
We booked 4 basement rooms for a very cheap price unfortunately 2 out of 4 has strong drainage smell. Room 3032 has drainage smell, 3008 is good. Can't remember the other two room number sorry. Hope this helps fellow travelers!
Although the room was in the basement without window it didn't feel like a basement. Comfortable room and comfortable bathroom. Location is convienent, restaurants, subway and shops nearby. Very nice, would book it again.
My mum and I stayed at Ping an Fu for 8 nights. We were in a basement room with no window. Reading the most recent reviews we were quite concerned!! We found our room to be quiet and cleaned on a daily basis. Could not fault the room. As with many hotels in china, the reception staff speak little English, and only have maps of the area in Chinese!! If you are an independent traveller and do not need advice or assistance from your hotel, this is the spot for you. A minute walk from subway (zhangzizhonglu- exit C). McDonald's (20 min) and 7/11(5min) supermarket on dongsi beidajie (exit left from hotel, and first left).
Excellent for the cost”
Probably not the place for you if you'd plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room. Mind you, the room is certainly adequate - clean, plenty of power outlets, etc. But, if you're there to take in all that Beijing has to offer it is ~100m from a subway station I think it would be hard to get any better, especially for the price.
Comfortable, clean, and great location”
This trip I have stayed at this hotel several times. I have done so because it is a great value. The hotel is located about 100 meters away from a subway station and a main artery that has lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms aren't fancy, but they are spacious and clean. Whenever I come back to Beijing, I'll stay at this hotel.
Great hotel, location could be better”
Lobby is good. Hotel personnels are kind enough. The room we got was the budget room so there was no real window. The glass "window" overlooks the under renovation restaurant. But we were not bothered by that. There is a small travel agent office inside the hotel. You can book tours to Great Wall or other places, or book tickets to acrobatic, Kung Fu, or Peking Opera shows. As for the location, the hotel is a very short walk away from Zhangzizhonglu Subway Station Exit C, therefore a big plus when touring Beijing. The only thing I don't like about the location is its immediate surroundings. The stores/shops across the street have closed down, making the area gloomy and dim especially at night. There is a nicely decorated restaurant inside the hotel but it is closed for renovation as of time of visit. Another is located upstairs, with its entrance outside the hotel. A third one used to operate at the ground floor also fronting the street, but is now closed down and they do not even bother to turn the lights on, so only half of the hotel is bright at night. For more food/restaurant choices, go to the street where subway exit D is located. As you go further, more restaurants will be seen. One weird incident though, they knocked on our door one early morning to check our identification documents. The hotel attendant was accompanied by 2 policemen. They were polite enough, telling us that it was just a routinary check. (This, we have never experienced in other hotels.) Overall, this is a great budget hotel. We saw lots of foreigners (tours or solo) staying in this hotel. It would be a lot better if the hotel will light up its exterior and if the stores/shops across the street will reopen.
Great location but dirty room”
We stayed in Ping An Fu hotel for two days, the carpet was not cleaned when we stayed there. Breakfast is ok, and the staff are helpful, although only one can speak english. So it is impossible to call them from the room, we have to go to the receptionist to ask something, usually with translator. It is about 100 m from the MRT station line 5.
Great location but dirty room”
when we arrived from beijing railway station, we took the wrong mrt, so it was far from the hotel. and when we ask about ping an fu hotel, no body speak english. it makes me frustrated. but then we check in, the carpet was very dirty, some food still on the carpet. even the next day, the food still there. the hotel close to mrt station line 5, it is about 100 m.
Sweet temp home”
you can walk within 15 mins to the subway station and houhai. there're a lot of old style housing nearby, you can feel the old beijing by just walking out the hotel. however, the tv channels may not be so many for someone who like to watch tv before sleeping.
Great location, ok rooms, friendly staff”
we booked a hotel for beijing, which was suppose to be very central. however you had to walk a lot if you wanted to get anywhere. when we returned to beijing after going to shanghai we stayed at ping an fu hotel and it was muuuch better. the metro station is very very near the hotel, which is really great in beijing. the rooms are ok, a little old but ok. not all the staff speaks great english, but they are very friendly.
Worths the money”
Nice tea house. Surrounded by restaurants. If you are brave enough to take the subway, go for it. 50 meters west of the hotel you can find the station.. Beijing subway is clear and almost covers the city well.
Book this hotel u will never regret”
This is a modern chinese hotel, not that stylish like new one, but not kind of old one. This is a very homy hotel. Clean and Nice staff. I will come back here for sure
location, kindness, price
Worst experience ever (and I usually choose cheap hotel)”
Very very dirty, hotel under construction over the night (I had to go to the reception at 3am to complaint), the front-desk staff has very limited English. If you want to save money, this hotel is not the option.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE ”
My friend and I decided to treat ourselves in Beijing to a nicer place to stay than another hostel and so we decided on Ping An Fu. It is one of the biggest regrets of my travels. We booked a basement room, we have stayed in many basement and windowless rooms before but this felt like a health and safety horror story. We stayed in 3 different rooms in total over our 7 nights. The first, water was leaking from the floor. The maintenance man threw down a towel and confidently suggested we could stay, despite the water being brown and smelling vile. Thankfully one of the women had our side and negotiated another room for us. This almost took an hour. Our second room was a downgrade and absolutely awful. Both beds were broken. The springs so out of shape that rolling over meant we would fall out of the bed. The vent in the roof was covered with thick black mould. And the floor had obvious water damage. At one point our toilet clogged and overflowed. The male receptionist blatantly didn't believe us and sent someone down to check. 20 minutes later they arrived. Another 15 minutes passed before someone came to unclog the toilet. The water leakage was never cleaned. After getting the male receptionist to lay on my bed to prove that it was, in fact, destroyed, we were moved to a third room. One of the walls was half green with mould and water damage. The location is definitely overstated. It is close to the subway and nothing else. We fell ill twice from eating at the restaurants around the area. ONLY speak to the female receptionists. The male receptionist is rude and will try to scam you. While the women were apologetic for our experiences it looked like he enjoyed our suffering. Upon leaving the hotel (FINALLY) we discovered that he had stolen one of our passports and almost missed our train to Xian because we had to navigate our way back to retrieve it. If you HAVE TO stay here DO NOT stay in the basement!!!! Better yet stay literally anywhere else.
all of room is basement. When I first enter room, there a little bit smell like mold. After turn ventilation fan on, It sovled. But room was really clean. I like it. theremore the bathroom was nice. staffs are kind as well
