Shanghai has two airports, with Hongqiao serving mostly domestic flights and Pudong catering to international travelers. Transfer between the two airports takes about one hour by taxi or nearly two hours by metro.
Pudong Airport has all the features you would expect from a global aviation hub, with excellent shopping and dining options. The airport consists of two gigantic terminals connected by free shuttle bus service and moving walkway. The airport is in close proximity to several hotels, and for the convenience of guests, many hotels provide free scheduled shuttle buses to and from the airport.
Hotels such as the Ramada Pudong Airport Hotel also offer a range of restaurants and bars. There are several tourist attractions nearby, including Sanjia Harbor, the Science Museum of Geology and Chuansha Ancient Town.
Shanghai’s downtown CBD is only eight minutes away by high-speed Maglev train. Using magnetic levitation technology, the train hits a maximum speed of 431km/h to traverse a distance of 30.5km.
