Extremadura hotels & places to stay

We really enjoyed our stay in Merida and picked the perfect hotel, central for all the wonderful sites, the staff were competent and helpful. Our room was large with a surprisingly big bathroom, we will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and be going back ourselves.

Not the cheapest hotel in town, and the room price on line and ringing direct varies with day-to-day demand, like most places nowadays. Leaving booking until the last moment may get you a steal but might also mean paying the 'rack' (highest rate) of about €140 pn. Not good value at that price. But charming staff and clean but smallish rooms , mostly with no views. Location is good, close to the historic old town and plaza but parking is impossible close by. Unload outside and park in a local car park and walk back. We're regular visitors to Caceres and have stayed in other similar starred hotels in town but the Palacio do Oquendo is our favourite.

Despite being seemingly part of a motorway service area, thus is a lovely modern hotel. During our overnight stay there were two weddings taking place but there was minumum impact on us. There is shaded parking and it is a short trip into Badajoz. There was a fridge is our room which was useful. The bathroom was large, modern and very clean. The modern a/c coped easily with outside temps of over 35°C. The location is inly a few kilometres from Portugal - in fact there is a road sign at the exit indicating turn right for Portugal. Lovely stay.

Noisy hotel, get room not facing receiving area or above one of the 2 restaurants. A lot of hard surfaces so everything could be heard. Paper thin walls, could hear the guy next door sneeze.

Wonderful hotel. Just stayed one night on our way to Bilbao. Hotel is wonderful. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast selection great. Would definitely return if in this area again. Perfect location.

This beautiful converted monastery is absolutely amazing. One of the best Parador’s we have ever stayed in. Walking in to the hall quite takes one's breath away. The whole place is steeped in history. The rooms are very tastefully done and beds very comfortable. Within walking distance of the very interesting town and other restaurants. Sadly we were only there for one night but hope to return and stay much longer next time

Our second time in a fortnight in this delightful hotel. We liked it so much that we came back on our return journey and stayed 5 days. The facilities are second to none and the staff are delightful. Good value for money. There is a lot of parking space either just in front of the hotel or underground. Food very good and there is also a very good Italian restaurant just around the corner. It is a 20 Minutes walk into the main town which has many historic buildings

The hotel was very good. Room excellent. Disappointed in the recommendation for the hotel restaurant as were charged much more for Cava than normal. Were told it was the # 1 restaurant in the city and did not find it Hotel seemed rather empty as there were only 3 other tables served in the dining room. Overall all though, I would say the room was excellent and staff very friendly. Casino was almost empty so did not spend any time there.

Lovely Paradores. Beautiful hotel. The staff were more than helpful. The only cons were the mattresses were too hard and thin and so were the pillows , but we found this in a lot of the hotels we stayed in Spain on our trip. The other con with this Paradores was that in October a lot of the businesses are closed for the season or for vacation. We did enjoy traveling around the area by car as there’s quite a lot to see.

Prefect place to stay in the middle of the action in Caceres. Central location, perfect view yet quiet because of triple isolated windows. Breakfast is good and staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Wery good hostal for the price. Bed was old but confy. Water preasure was good and there was warm water in the shower. Heating was not on (end of october) but the room temperature was ok for me.

I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a hotel. We had to wait 1 hour to check-in outside in the hot sun because nobody was at reception at 3:30pm. We tried to phone but no answer. Second our room was not complete 1 towel missing and no water like the other rooms. Very rude lady. Wifi very very slow. Definitely not worth the €120 for 2 nights we payed. I don’t usually complain but I have to at this place sorry.

I had to pay for 15 nights and I only stayed there 10 nights. I made the change of date and still they didn’t attend my enquiry. Sadly, this was the only flaw of my stay.

Despite advertising car parking there was none. The suggestion was a car park 700 metres away. The apartment was close to the centre of town but strangely configured. No kettle. The shower attachment just a metre off the tray. Doors that slammed into wardrobes. Agoda did not respond to my calls to discuss. I was left waiting on the line for 25 minutes and gave up. Not good enough.

Only spent one night here, but wish I was here longer. It's in a very good location that was not too difficult to drive to. Parking was easy, which can certainly be a challenge in the old town and city centers. The staff was very friendly and the hotel had excellent amenities. This would be a great hotel for couples and families.

This small village apartment was among my favorite stays in Spain. Was a very authentic rural "village" home - small but very neat, homey, warm, cozy, plus a great view out the large windows, full kitchen, very friendly owner, comfortable little den with sofas. Everything I could want for a night of village living. It was close to the local bar, which sells pizza and sandwiches as well as plenty of liquor.

Loved this clean & roomy studio. The location was ideal. Parking was below for 10€. The receptionist was warm & helpful. Beds & pillow were comfortable. Shower was & bathroom new. Small kitchenette had a frig, glasses, hot water heater etc. Highly recommend this place.

Hotel is a very modern business hotel with all facilities. Location is too far from the old city on the other side of the river for walking tourists. Not much in Badajoz so most people are just passing through. Plenty of parking in the hotel. A few restaurants located around the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay. Although the hotel is not located near the tourism site and the town centre it is in a quite portion of the city and was great for going for walk.

This was our second stay at the parador and it was as enjoyable as the first time. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and quiet. The patio is a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. The bells from the nearby churches are a welcome addition to the ambience. We will do our best to return one day.

I wish we could have stayed longer because this hotel had everything except proximity to the centre of Merida which was not a problem as we had a car. The hotel is easily found although it is described as "Las Lomas" but on its edifice it has "Las Loman". The swimming pool and gardens are delightful and dinner with excellent food and wine near the pool was a real treat.

We had a lovely stay and felt welcomed however if we could have spoken more Spanish and the Hotel staff some English that would have helped more

We stayed for 4 nights while on a birding trip.Lovely hotel.Old world charm.Nice big room.Safe car parking at rear of hotel.Staff were very friendly though we had no Spanish and they had no English.Great location. Just a few hundred metres to the main square. Trujillo is a lovely town with plenty of history and a laid back feel.Some lovely restaurants and good value for money. Our hotel was good value.Breakfast was fairly basic, but always had enough to eat.Would definitely book again if I was back in Trujillo

Nice comfortable hotel in a great location.Old world character. Great value for money.Staff helpful and professional.

Somewhat diappointing. The aircon in the bedroom was extremely noisy and did little to cool the room, while the windows that opened were so high that we had to stand on furniture toreach them. The dining room is most attractive and the waiter was excellent, however the menu was very restricted and the prices were high. Breakfast was very good although the choice of cereals was limited to children's preferences! On the plus side, the bathroom was large and well equipped and the (free) underground garage a distinct bonus? Finally, all of the staff were courteous and very helpful.

the hotel's staff were very helpful at all times and took time recommending restaurants and bars to visit. we had requested a room overlooking the square when we booked over the internet and sure enough we got a fantastic room with two balconies offering great views of the square and the medieval town. the room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and attractive. all in all a very nice hotel offering great value for money and gave the aura of more than a 3 star establishment.

this hotel is situated at the end of the industrial area of plascencia just off the N630 road.This in no way reflects on the quality of this hotel. It is a business mans hotel with a restaurant and bar adjacent to the reception area.There tables ouside on a terrace(shady after 1400hrs)over looking a pleasant garden area and car park.There is no swimming pool but locals visit to use the bar creating a pleasant atmosphere.There are approx 48 rooms wich are large,with air conditioning and most have a balcony from which there are views of th distant mountains.The dish of the day and breakfast are good value but the restaurant menu seemed expensive

The hotel is well located, just on the edge of the old town, five minutes walk to Plaza Mayor. The room is large and clean with all the facilities. The service, both the front desk and the cleaning staffs are friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
