My husband and I first stayed here on the very first day of our study trip organized by a Singapore ceramic society. When we have to come back to Xiamen to wait for our flight to Bangkok, we decided to stay here again because their breakfast was very good. After 10 days in small towns a good western breakfast is something we look forwards to. On our last morning, we came down to breakfast quiet late about 9. "Breakfast for two please," I told the receptionist. She answered me in Chinese-with a shade of contempt for a black hair person not being able to speak Chinese. "Sorry I cannot speak chinese." Her response to that was "Sorry we are full." I pointed to several empty tables but the girl stood her ground and told us "No- we are full." She did not even try to help us find a table nor does she offer us a seat to wait. After more than 30 years of traveling this was the first five star hotel that throw us onto the cold wet street of Xiamen on an empty stomach. I went down to tell the front desk manager as much. Well after that we managed to get our breakfast and were treated like VIP. The German manageress and her team were wonderful. Without them I would give a 1 star rating to Dining because we did not manage to get into the breakfast room.

pleasant. just as wished, attentive staff, activities for the kids after a couple of hours of travelling incl. flying. unfortunately it was too cold to use the outdoor swimming pool, but the garden area was beautiful and a great stroll with the kids. try the italian restaurant. the bread was the best we had for a long time in china! the pasta carbonara maybe not that much, but everything else was good quality and delitious. a pity that there is no direct access to the beach. but it's just 10 minutes walk. don't forget your swimming hat for the indoor swimming pool!

It was our first time to Xiamen and we received plenty of valuable information from the concierge for our 3D2N in Xiamen. Special mention to the concierge staff named Roger who was very patient in sharing and answering to all our travel related queries around Xiamen and even helped to place booking for ferry tickets. On our 2nd night, we also splurge and pamper ourselves at Chuan Spa which is their award winning spa and it didn't disappoint! Although the price was on the high side, the massage did relieve all our tiredness and tension from the whole week of travelling around Fujian. As we finished our spa just 5 mins before the clock strikes, we managed to participate in the party hosted by the hotel at their lobby bar with free admission for all hotel guests. The hotel is located near to the airport and ferry terminal to Kinmen though much further from Gulangyu. Apart from that, highly recommend all travelers to Xiamen to stay at Langham for a wonderful hospitable experience.

booked premier sea view room and was give the room at 50th floor, room size is really good and the amazing view from the altitude above 38th floor is just worth the stay. Conrad never fail to deliver its brand quality and its excellent service. you will never regret it

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite. It was very spacious and nice for a family of 4. The location was rather convenient but there is nothing much around. Was a bit disappointed that the spa don't provide just foot massage. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful. In particular we want to commend a concierge staff - 方泽勇 - Arno for his patience and helping hand. We wanted to find out how to book ferry tixs to Gulangyu and realised we could not book as we did not have the relevant payment access. He was very kind and not only did he help to get the best alternative timing, he helped to book and made payment on our behalf first. He spent about 30mins just helping us on that. Thank you again Arno! The porters were also very helpful in that they helped to book a vehicle that was big enough for 4 pax with our luggages. A normal taxi could not take us. Food in Hai Tien Lou was good too. And the service was great. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Marco Polo is a great hotel. Its very classy in an under-stated way....its not overtly opulent like many 5 star Chinese hotels. Service is excellent, executive lounge great and the in house Japanese and Chinese restaurants are highly recommended.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Janice, who give us excellent service from the time we book the hotel until we check out. She is very patient to our requests and try her very best to make suitable arrangement for us. Hotel is excellent not only on its location (7 minutes walk to railway station) but also on its excellent housekeeping service. We washed the clothes with their washing machine but forget to hang up. Their staff helped us to hang up the damped clothes and we got clean and wearable clothes when we come back at night. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choices. Shuttle bus to main tourist points are offered during weekends and holidays. The hotel also offers swimming pool and gym room, which are maintained in excellent condition. So far, we are so lucky to find this hotel and we definitely will come back in the future.

I didn't use all the amenities of this hotel, so I can only comment on my own experiences. I've been to many many hotels all over the world, and I have to say I was shocked to find this type of operation in Quanzhou. Check in / Lobby - Well lit, marbled entrance. Service equal to that of what I've experienced at the Four Seasons. Selfless offers of assistance from staff, kept me quiet speechless in fact. Rooms are filled with decor and amenities. No complaints here. The room even has a questionnaire on ALL of your preferences. It even asks what type of fruit you prefer in your room. I had oranges and fruit, but I had wanted some bananas to bring on the road. My fruit was switched out on turndown. The English China Daily newspaper was swapped out, and my thin default blankets (because its a hot climate area) were swapped out for a heavy down comforter. Amazing. Remember, this is a 4 star hotel. Breakfast - let me just tell you. When it comes to breakfast buffets, the international organization for 5 star hotel breakfast buffets need to model their training after the one at Yeohwa. It's unbelievably diverse, fresh, entertaining, and big. They have a station just for juicing. On the way out, I grabbed a newspaper by the door when the staff stopped me to let me know it was only to be read inside the restaurant. They apologized and asked me for my room number. I went back up, and within 5 minutes, a waitress came to my door with a brand new copy on a tray. Are we at the St Regis?? To conclude, there is some serious luxury living for the 100USD range. When you stay at a hotel, you're away from home. You want to be taken care of. You want to be treated like you've stayed their dozens of times. In Quanzhou, stay at the Yeohwa Hotel.

Truly a five-star hotel! Overall, the front desk, concierge, spa and housekeeping staff are very well-trained, professional, attentive , friendly, flexible, patient and smart. Guest rooms and recreational facilities are new, clean and well-maintained. there’s room for improvement for the coffee shop staff. The wait staff looked tired, no idea why we ordered the same type of drinks at the same time but they needed to serve the drinks to us separately instead of coming together. It happened on both days during our stay. The staff at the noodle counter is a bit impolite and passive. A few wait staff did not pause their steps even they saw that the guests walking towards their direction. Definitely need to enhance their training on their attitude and manner. Except the above minor issues, I would definitely recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travellers! Special thanks to Chris Wang, concierge and front office.

Stayed the executive floor. So my feedback generally limits to the privilege entitled to these guests. Rooms are good and clean. Views from the room and lounge are superb as well. One could actually enjoys the food and business meetings at the backdrop of a scenic view at the executive lounge. Breakfast at the hotel offers a wide variety of selections. You got some local cuisine as well as the usual western at a wide dining area at level 2. Generally the hotel are situated in the center of the island where you could catch a glimpse of the entire island landscape and scenery. Best part of the hotel is its people. The chambermaid, she is good, always with a smile and making sure you get your room really clean up and refilled. Always going the extra mile to get what I need. The staff at the executive lounge, one of whose name Qiu guy, recalls my choice of tasting and readily got it prepared the next day when I go. However, front desk staff could have been more accommodating when I request for extension. Seems like the occupancy rate is high and I got rejected straight off. Only on knowing that I was from executive that it was readily made available.

The location across the convention centre suited me. It was within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the difficulties in communication; as some only spoke in mandarin. The front desk tried their best to attend to queries. Rooms were very spacious, clean and well kept.

Service was excellent all round, the Loyalty Manager, Brandy Chen was exceptional. I gave some feedback to her concerning the blinking light from the smoke detector and the air-conditioning and she immediately offered to upgrade my room. It was also very nice of her to offer to paste something over the blinking light as that was nothing much she could about the position of the smoke detector. in addition, after hearing about my lack of quality sleep, she changed my pillows and I was able to sleep better the following night. it was also a pleasant surprise to find a plate of mangoes in my room after I came back in the evening. moments later I met her at the lobby and she was quick to lend me an umbrella as it was drizzling outside. her personal service made a stay an even pleasant one. another staff worth commending is Angus the ex-police officer, he was polite and obliging and actually took the trouble to remember my name. breakfast was very good with a wide variety of Chinese and international dishes to choose from. the fresh carrot and cucumber juice was very good. the bed is soft and comfortable. the one thing that takes some getting used to is the location of the wash basin which is in the middle of the room. one suggestion is to have a bidet in the toilet. A truly 5-star experience in a 5-star hotel. Highly recommended.

The hotel was very nice and was not expensive. I would recommend this hotel to other business travelers without any hesitation. My Agoda voucher stated that breakfast was not included but when I asked at the reception desk they told me it was free. The breakfast was pretty good as well.

I book this for my parents. They ask me to book this hotel as it appears to be excellent in the review. However it is so far from the crowded and it it so difficult for them to fins food place and shopping area as senior couples However the hotel itself represent the good quality

Just my opinion: -All of the hotel staf should now the english language, as you are an international hotel -Also, you can inproove on the internet connection ....I vas very dissapointed, that that large, conference hotel was with so bad Wi-Fi. -A part from that, it is an excellent hotel. We had a lovely stay. I can recomend it :)

At first I thought this place is very inconvenient but in reality, away from city centre and yet taxi is always available to take you to nice places in Xiamen from CNY11 to CNY80. Kids and my invited Guests all love this hotel. Plus, dining in this 5 star hotel is very reasonable. Spend at least one night dining at this amazing Chinese Restaurant at 3rd floor.

The staff was excellent though I was in a rather foul mood after got transferred to the hotel due to an unfortunate event and waited an hour on the street with a 10kg backpack in the middle of the night. They have managed to maintain calm and a smiling face throughout. I am grateful that they have maintain a helpful attitude particularly after my eventful day. The room is nice and cosy with a rather big and comfy bed. The room services and housekeeping were very decent. Sweets were left on the bed after they cleaned up and it was always a nice pleasant night when I came back. The room overlooked a large lake and have a really nice decent view. Across the other side is a hotel with very nice buffet (White Swan Hotel). I stayed there for 4 nights and I was well taken care of. Will definitely come back again.

i stayed in the crowne plaza hotel paragon xiamen for a week on business to attend a conference. the hotel provides very good conference facilities and service as well as the hotel is also good for the business traveller but also to families in my point of view. the location is very good in the midle of the city exactly in the business and shopping district (e.g., carrefour just round the corner). the hotel has direct access to a luxury shopping mall (of course prices are high). it is just 20 minutes by taxi from xiamen international airport, and the hotel is surrounded by nice gardens (something to appreacite when in china). there are fitness center and spa facilities on-site. in addition, there is a very nice outdoor pool which i did not try because of the winter weather conditions. finally, the hotel provides free internet access (wifi) in lobby area. service is excellent by all staff-members. however, one of the guys under the concierge desk can hardly english and when asking of an indian restaurant, he actually sent us to an indonesian (yes, it's china but this hotel is actually 5 star hotel so). the room was excellent; new, spacious, clean, modern, and with stunning views of the city (high floor). the washroom impresive. the cleaning staff does a superb job! all this in my view is particularly important when in china. the buffet breakfast was great. one is offered with a large selection to choose from chinese, japanese or international. fresh fruits and vegetable are provided as well as fresh juices selection (e.g., watermelon). i love chinese and japanese breakfast so i actually enjoyed.

It is new, well decorated, stylish, but a few resturants inside and they are small. I have not try the resturants as they are not look good. But the shopping centre is so close to hotel and have many good choices. Beauitful river view and quite environment. Basically, it is nice and will book again.

Very good hotel, clean, with big balcony, comfy and convinient location. Staff is very friendly and kind. The only problem, they need more people in the reception who can speak and understand English.

I have been seeing the hotel was built back in the 80s. It's my favorite hotel and had the best service. I stayed at the hotel every time when I go to Xiamen. However, it is a bit different during this stay. 1st, the carpet in the lobby seems to be dirty and wear out. 2nd, I stayed for two nights, the service staff didn't take away the glasses and teacups. The fruit in the room was also sent late in the evening. 3rd, I used the umbrella and it was broken down due to wind (Tai Feng). I did report to the staff when I checked out. They charged me anyway without considering this might have been a problem with the poor quality of the umbrella hotel provided. Also, the young reception didn't know to handle the charge. 4th, the driver took me and another family to the airport had a stone face and didn't feel like that we were welcome. I asked to turn on the air-condition since it's a bit hot but he didn't seem to be too happy about it. I am a bit disappointed honestly.

The hotel is new and very nice but because of its location being far away, getting a taxi is a problem. Luckily, the hotel provide their own taxi to take care of that but on the high side. Food is good in the hotel including breakfast and staff are exceptional well trained to serve. Generally in new hotel, most staff are fresh and cannot provide the kind of service expected in a 4-5 star establishment but Howard Johnson Riverfront Plaza Hotel Fuzhou does that with distinction. I and my wife would definitely return to stay in this hotel if we are in Fuzhou. Regards

The Website said English Speaking staff available, this was not the case. When I found a giant spider climbing up my wall I phoned reception and had much difficulty explaining (in my terror as this really was the biggest spider I’d ever seen) the problem. Finally they came and chased the spider behind the tv cupboard which was no good to me, but they immediately helped me pack my bags and moved me to a room in the main building. They were very helpful, although the English would have been useful. I also had difficulty trying to get information about sight seeing. We played charades and pictionary in order to communicate. Otherwise this really was a great hotel, the staff were friendly and apologetic. I had got a great last minute price, otherwise the value for money wouldn’t have been so good in my opinion. The grounds are beautiful although some distance from the hustle and bustle of the city, so choose what you are looking for as you will need taxis to get around.

From Agoda photos we expected a dated property but surprisingly well maintained, Right at the center of Quanzhou old city with shopping F&B public transport.... we booked 2 rooms and paid each ( USD 80) for the tower block rooms but was given DONG HUI section, older section from other reviews. But the Superior Business rooms given didnt disappoint. Excellent and comfy bed, quilt and pillows. Modern with separate shower and bath sections. Upgraded Bathroom was very well presented. China styled 5 star class. I saw 4 hotel restaurants but didnt try the offerings due to short stay. Check in was longer than usual Western standards . Lobby was vast and very spacious. Service staff was good and prompt in assistance. well trained. I will stay here again For travellers who love activity vibrant city with people milling around...stay here...Jinjing new town is further. Tip - gold buggy public transport for RMB 2, will take you to all city tourist sights

Dec’17. It’s a 5 star hotel but the facility isn’t looks like a 5 star. I’m not sure during the winter the pool is not running because they dry up the pool or the pool is under maintenance without and notice. The tennis court is badly maintain although it’s not opening too during my stay. They are Chinese, japs and a buffet restaurant on the 2nd floor. The Chinese restaurant seems no body eat in and I don’t know why and also don’t dare to give it a try. The japs restaurant only Hv one table eating but the buffet restaurant is ok. The Spa I didn’t manage to try because the package shows in the menu in the room is too complicated and not easy to understand but the price is still considerable high for the place like in Fuzhou. No many restaurant located across the Hotel entrance. Only one bakery cum Bbq self pick dishes restaurant available but they don’t accept cash or foreign credit card. They only use weixin for payment. What.....this is my first encounter in China.

Very grand of decoration for Chinese hotel. This hotel is quite far from airport but if you have to contact people around that area, the hotel is a good choice. Staff here is friendly but not fluent in English. BF here is good and variety. This town has no metro. The only way of transporation is by taxi

Stayed there before and will continue to stay there in future next time I'm in Putian. Definitely the least expensive 4/5 star hotel in China.

The only two bad thing about this hotel , English language is problem and no European breakfast

The hotel is very new and clean in overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the location is far away to town. If you are a business traveller and not intend to walk around in the city, this is one of the best choice I think!
