I recently stayed at the Best Western Poitiers Centre Le Grand Hotel, and found it to be an excellent small very personable 4 star hotel. As I was travelling by motorcycle it was great to have use of the secure underground carparking which is beneath the hotel with direct access to the courtyard at reception. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the beds are excellent memory foam matresses and the room was spotless with lots of fresh linen and toiletries. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a very centralised hotel in Poitiers, just step out the door and you have dozens of resturaunts immediately on the street, walk down this street 200m to the left and you will find yourself in the beautiful typically old european town square, it just doesnt get anymore central, so go ahead BOOK IT and enjoy.

We are still wondering why it is not called MOTEL, and why it has got 3 stars. The room is very noisy, the receptionist can't speak english at all, and can't give any advice you need, the position is awful, outside from la Rochelle. The breakfast within the motel costs 10 euros, but is not worth at all. Everything is very expensive and it is no good. We are very disappointed.

Booked and prepaid for 3 nights, as location - close to La Rochelle, Airport and Isle de Re' seemed good. Not so good was continuous traffic noise from motorway, and scruffy rooms. Left after ONE night.

This is a very nice hotel that I highly recommend. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was very nice with a wonderful bathroom and the breakfast was good. It is not far to walk to the center of Rochelle and it’s located in a quiet area.

Vert good. Only the breakfast with the minimum but cheap. (5 euros) the toaster is very dangerous because no protection . I would change the place of it: upstair where the Bred is : no Risk of fire

Our first visit to La Rochelle, we truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the warm welcome and hospitality. The junior suite was well-appointed with all the necessities to make our 4-night stay comfortable and relaxing. Thank you! Look forward to returning to the Central Park Hotel & Spa at La Rochelle!

Great location, nice staff, very confortable and modern room and bed. Only minor bother is we were asked to pay extra for the parking, 15 euro per night, but still happy to have had a parking in the hotel 😊

We had a wonderful stay here for a friend's wedding weekend. What a lovely hotel! The courtyard gardens are even more beautiful than I thought they would be and the room was lovely. Very clean, pretty and peaceful. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was delicious and it was a really romantic place to be. We will be back! Thank you.

Great to book in after late show, 24 hr check in. Staff friendly, efficient, helpful. Rooms compact but well designed. Beds comfortable. Basic tea/coffee facilities, kettle, 1 milk each, coffees, selection of teas, 1 each. Decent washing facilities. Good breakfast selection. Table football and screens in breakfast/reception area to entertain kids so adults can have a leisurely breakfast after a long day/night at Futuroscope the day before. Easy walk to Futuroscope. If you've not managed to get 2 nights at same hotel to visit park, there's no hassle checking in late at night. The clearance on top bunk to ceiling was low so not easiest to access, especially as no gap at the top of the ladder on safety rail. Late check out - 12pm. Nice not to have to rush after a long day.

This is a great hotel. We travelled with 2 dogs from Southern Spain to UK. It’s location is brilliant with loads of shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Just off the motorway.

What a lovely surprise this hotel was. It was very modern and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and the food was beautiful. Wide range of choice and all beautifully presented. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again and the price was extremely cheap. Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Not professional at all and customer service appalling. I managed just to keep my cool and leave. Will never go back and will not recommend Kyriad to anyone

You can park right outside the hotel room door- useful if you need to unload baggage. There were no bathroom lights in our room. The tv wake up call went on loudly at 05.30 am. I mentioned this to the staff in the morning. Their reaction: 'Oh yes, this happens automatically every morning'. I suggested people book into a hotel to sleep and not to be woken up at 05.30. The response: 'it's something to do with the computer setting and can't be changed'.

Great place to relax, easy walking distance to the market, have 2 swimming pools and a great steam room.

last minute booking of the hotel. Room was unexpectedly huge for all 3 of us. staff was very helpful as i requested on taxi to airport and requested how to rent wheelchair as my mom accidentally has sprain her ankle during our vacation. would definitely come back in future.

Nice modern, clean hotel near the old quarter of La Rochelle and the train station. Breakfast tends to be very busy so come before 9:30 am to guarantee to get a table. Underground Parking has limited space, so please ensure to book before arriving at the hotel to avoid disappointment. Overall great hotel.

very good overnight stay although a lot of noise during the early hours and we were not sure if it was inside the hotel or in the street.

Brit Hotels are not Motels they are Motorists Hotels with well designed rooms , Good locations and Individually owned and run. They also normally have good restuarants but this one closed on Sundays! The Reception Staff in this hotel were really friendly spoke fluent English and could not be more helpful.5 stars for them! This Hotel is very well located for La Rochele and Isle de Re. Excellent free WiFi. Recommended , I would stay again.

Easy accessible hotel with clean rooms, a small pool, nice atmosphere and very nice people who manage the place. Nice beds.

Not special but good hotel, rooms getting a bit older, menu of the restaurants is quite limited and everywhere the same. Breakfast is good. Swimming pool is too small. End result: just good, not brilliant.

Couldn’t have asked for more from St Nicholas hotel during our short weekend trip to La Rochelle. The staff are helpful and friendly and even continued to help us when we returned to the city later in the week. Thank you to the full team for a fabulous stay and excellent holiday experience!

We booked two rooms to spend one night. It was a cold spring season when we were there. There is an interesting walking trail not far from the hotel . The hotel was clean and the staff at the reception was nice and accommodating. Breakfast was also good. I definitely recommend.

A good overnight stop. Good value compared to many French hotels. Don't expect the world, just a small room with clean comfortable bed and a small functional shower and toilet. They have microwave downstairs so you can eat cheap Lidl ready meals and avoid the overpriced restaurants nearby. Good WiFi I even had a view over the fields this time.

lovely small quiet hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. 20 minutes walk to best restaurants in town. wonderful sea view from our room which is a worthwhile extra. room with balcony was small but more than adequate as were the amenities. very convenient for the airport and as hub for days tours to some wonderful beaches. good parking facilities at no extra cost. breakfast was an extra and at €13 seemed quite expensive but we went each of 4 mornings as the quality was excellent.

Was a wonderful stay. The staff were efficient, friendly & very helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but the staff provided us with many alternatives in La Rochelle. Breakfast was superior to many places we have stayed. Thoroughly recommended this Hotel.

The automated check in is useful if arriving out of hours (which in France is all the time) beds are large and comfortable and parking is no issue. But you are basically in an industrial estate... and the Wi-Fi was useless, I resorted to using my data plan as a hotspot. Late check out options are useful if you've driven long hours and need some extra rest without the stress of packing up in time. Gf

The motel is easy to find being right at the motorway junction and has a secure car park. It is not really anywhere though! It’s too far from Angouleme to be classed as an Angouleme hotel and there’s nothing in the nearby town of interest unless you are there for business. The rooms are like a small motel with no wardrobe, a small desk amd a “pre-fabricated pod” shower room all in all very similar to a cabin on a cross channel ferry – complete with steel bunk beds. That said if you simply want a bed for the night while travelling through France then this is in a very convenient position to hop off the motorway and the check in and out can be done at any time, 24 hours a day with a credit card. In the morning for just €4 you can have a nice help yourself breakfast with croissants and bread, tea; coffee and orange juice from a machine. The internet is VERY slow and actually only works from the reception / breakfast area but it is a friendly little place with a youth hostel atmosphere and a very helpful and genuine owner/franchisee who also has a few discount vouchers for local cafeterias and such.

If you want to experience a truly French vacation, I suggest you to book this premise. The host served homemade breakfast (marmalade, scones). The place is quiet and super clean. The bedroom is huge, bathroom is clean (there's a bathtub), walking distance to the old town. The only down side is the room is on 2nd floor, you'll have to lug your luggage up the stairs but it's worth it. I will definitely go back and this is the only place I'll stay if I were to visit Angoulême again.

The hotel is starting to show it's age but the staff still manage to keep it spotless. rooms are small but comfortable even if the decor seems to be out of the 70's.... staff friendly and helpful even when our booking seemed to be a bit of a mystery when we arrived, it took a few mins for them to sort things out but we were given connecting rooms which was a bonus for us. plenty of parking on site. Breakfast was ok bearing in mind this is at the budget end of the market. Location was out of town in bussiness district but that suited us as we were just passing through and only there for the night.
