I absolutely loved this hotel. I got a king bed room on the 9th floor and it had a massage chair. Separate toilet room and bath/shower room. Very modern and beautiful design. Room super spacious and clean with great amenities. Hotel has restaurant on 2nd floor and 7/11 convenient store on 1st floor/ ground floor. 1 min walk from bus terminal and Train Station. 8 min walk to Mt. Bizan ropeway Station and 5 mins walk to the river boardwalk. 10-15 min walk to Tokushima castle ruins and Tokushima history museum. Super convenient!!! Mall is literally across the hotel. Train station has many restaurants with great local foods and a Tully’s near by. Highly recommend this hotel!

A very convenient location, every facilities and the overall environment is above expectation. They have 24hr contract parking lot next to the hotel which provide free parking for the hotel guest and the car can free in and our within 24-hr. I’ll definitely stay there if I got the chance to visit Tokushima again.

Almost perfect except for its a bit far away from oboke station, but its free shuttle service to and from the station, even to another nearby hotel as in my case, got rid of the location problem. Once arrived in the hotel, the receptionist who i still remember her name as 武內, was so helpful not only explaining the hotel facilities and onsen usage, but also assisting us to plan our upcoming activities during our stay. I was greatly impressed by that. The public onsen is really great. There is a special facilitity where you stand at the center and it fires arrays of strong water beams at your body. The open air onsen is very pleasant with the view of the back hill, with some beautiful maples leaves floating on the onsen surface. All in all, we enjoy the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone interested in taking a relaxed day with hot spring onsen.

We love everything about it. The best sleep ever and the water of the spa is so good. Instantly your skin looks beautiful! The food was amazing. I recommend you check in the minute check-ins are open at 3pm and don't leave until check out at 11am the next day. Even that is not enough time. Spend at least 2 nights there if you can afford it.

I have looked up almost all hotels in Okobe side and Iya Valley side and consider this one moderately priced with reasonably good review. This has proven a right choice. The hotel is located near a train station and more accessible than most other hotels for those who drive. The river in the Oboke / Koboke is very close to the hotel and the water level is high offering a more lively scene while hotels located near the Iya Valley will only see a river almost completely dry. The onsen provides normal indoor and outdoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna and a cold water pool, which represents most elements that I would hope for. Food is considered 3 stars not outstanding. One note for other visitors choosing dinner package. Unlike some reviews which mentioned bento only, ours are multi courses dinner. As most half board bookings do not differentiate the two, it is advisable to write to the hotel to clarify after booking to save for disappointment. Email response was reasonably quick.

We chose this hotel for the price and location to see the whirlpools. We were not disappointed. The room was larger than most Japanese hotel rooms. The bathroom was also larger than usual with a nice tub and shower area. There was a restaurant on site, but we didn't try it since it was mostly seafood and one of us is allergic. The staff did not speak English, but it wasn't a problem. Another bonus was that there was free parking at the hotel.

Beautiful ocean facing views from the balcony. Comfortable bed, good sized rooms, well appointed. Service was excellent, Japanese breakfast buffet - excellent spread! Need a car to get around though.

When I booked a place in Iya Valley, I did not want to take taxi or some extra bus to go to mu hotel. After searching, I found AwaNoSho was only place in my price range that was close to a train station (Minawa). The rooms are great, as they are large rooms. Japanese style with a mattress on the floot, and futton covered floors. There's a toilet and a sink, but no shower or bathtub. To take a bath, you need to go to the Onsen, and shower in the public bath (men and women separated). The Onsen is quite basic though with only one bath at 40C, and no sauna. The included breakfast has a wide variety of choice, is self-service, and I assume should satisfy most people.

The best hotel for this trip, thumb up for very big, delicious set dinner and breakfast. Their onsen is very nice, comfy and lovely both indoor and outdoor. I would love to be there more than 1 night. Unfortunately, this hotel is always full booked, so don' t hestitste if you find and available room.

Room is spacious and silent. Breakfast is Japanese or Western style and sent to room. Good staff service.

Bit far from JR station but the shuttle services is provided by the hotel from/to the JR Station. Overall is good recommendable to the travelers.

The room was as small as described by the Hotel, i.e. you should not expect a spacious room and don't be too surprised if you find it rather difficult to get things out of luggage. We had to place our luggage right behind the door so that we can enter the bathroom without much trouble. The good thing is - it locates near the Tokushima Station, quite convenient.

We loved staying here. We came for the Tokushima Awa Odori and it was the perfect place to stay. My family loved it. Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff and enough room. The view of the river outside our hotel window was a lovely bonus.

Good for travel in tokushima because near in the city centre.go to tokushima station just 15-20minit by walk.the hotel nearly many restarant and 7-11 mart.the hotel Room include with internet but can not used because too old system connect with internet wayar .the hotel is litter old but staff is helpfull and friendly.

We are a group of 4 cyclists, our room was very spacious with 2 rooms, a living room, a resting area, a toilet and a bathroom. We felt like home. The onsen/hot bath was also very good and it's what we needed after riding. Staff was very responsive and helpful, it is the only hotels that communicated (replied my enquiries) with me via agoda before the trip. I left a transparent (hard to see!) mouth guard in the room, they found and kept it, and will mail it back to me. Much appreciated!!!!

I stayed 1 night with Smile Tokushima and forgotten my jacket . I messaged the hotel through the Agoda app and they were very quick to respond and help in arranging the delivery of my item to the next hotel in Takamatsu . I would like to commend their service and will definitely recommend this hotel!

No smell of smoke, shower room was clean. Very friendly staff. Waking distance to big mall and on bus line from ferry to station but buses are infrequent. We called a taxi to get to the station.

Enjoyed my stay here as the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Although it's very convenient if your main destination is Naruto Whirlpool it is quite a distance from the museum. The taxi fare is not too bad ¥650 or u can take a walk about 30 mins through the Naruto Park. There is also public Onsen within hotel if u like. Only regrettable thing is I was told the restaurant was fully booked and there is no other place for dinner. I ended up buying cup noodle for dinner! Not that I mind...

The location of hotel is good, around 5 mins from the Tokushima JR station. The staff there is very nice but they cannot speak good English. But if you use the very simple English, it is enough to communicate. The room was so clean and the size is much bigger than normal hotel room in Japan. The wifi was good there.

The room was spacious enough. The breakfast was so delicious. They served Tokusima cuisine; taimesi, sobagome-zousui, fish-katsu, so on. We're really satisfied and relaxed.

This is the first time I visited this beautiful island. The hotel staff is very helpful. We arrived earlier around 2pm but the room already ready for check-in, nice room and clean! The onsen is so nice and I can tell is it’s the best onsen I visited. We need to take a private cabke car to the onsen which located at the too of a small mountain. The onsen provides privacy and a nice scene. You can see the star in the sky at night time, a very relax environment! When we check out, the staff is so nice to hive us a pack of candies. The only thing I can think of not perfect is the hotel does not provide transfers. However, you can either take bus or cab which is also very easy!

I took the klook tour bus to iya valley from takamatsu station and the final stop is at this hotel. So there was no problem in getting to this hotel when though it is in the wilderness. This hotel also operates the boat ride in the beautiful gorge. You can get discount on the boat ride if you stay in the hotel. At the entrance of the hotel, you can see your name. They have staff to explain my stay in English/Mandarin. The explanation was super comprehensive - e.g. they will offer to give you a free ride to the obokekyo station with train timings for you to plan your trip. I did not book dinner and hence they informed me that the restaurant at the gorge area closed at 5 PM and they can fetch me to the convenience store if needed. When I entered my room, there was a crane folded using Singapore's flag and a paper with Singapore's flag printed to welcome me - this was really sweet. The onsen was great, it has a outdoor area which overlooks the gorge and the iconic red bridge. Breakfast was hearty and delicious and there was a Singapore's flag to welcome me at my designated dining table. There was a bug on the ceiling when I woke up which does not come as a surprise as we are located in the wilderness. The bug did not bother me so I was alright with it. But I think the best part is that they have an insecticide in the room with detailed instructions on how to kill and clean the bug. I requested for a ride to the station after I checked out and they welcomed me into the car with Singapore's flag. Will stay here again if I am visiting Iya valley again.

I really enjoyed my stay in Momonga village. I had only booked 2 nights and finally I decided to extend for 2 other nights because the place is so nice, the staff is kind and helpful, landscapes are beautiful. The best spot to relax !!! Aligato for your welcome and kindness

It may not be the most flash hotel but I was aware of that. I needed a place to stay for a couple of nights and this suited my budget well as it was basically the same price as a backpackers. So may as well have a private room with all amenities included. Bed was comfy, staff were friendly, WiFi was good. Location very close to the castle park, about 20 mins from the JR station. Supermarket around the corner. For the price I got the room, I really cannot complain and I would certainly stay again.

It was my first time to visit Japan for a conference headed by Tokushima University. I've been traveling to and fro in Middle East, Asian and Europe for trainings and seminars. Hotel Avanti is one of the bests if you really want to stay having a well-budgeted ledger and value for money. During my stay, hotel staffs were friendly and accommodating, language should not be seen as a problem, basic Nippongo saves the day. Breakfast was fine because I've always been in a diet. Very comfortable hotel. Decent sized room with very comfortable beds. Efficient, friendly receptionists. Use of computer in the lobby very useful.

A small family run Ryokan , decoration & facilities was old , location was so close to the Great Naruto Bridge , may go there by walking . Room with a very good bridge view , they served the traditional Japanness breakfast, & the quality was so so . They offered us a free parking.

Really the best place to stay alone or as a group in nice, clean and comfy Japanese-style tatami rooms in Naruto! The facilities, especially the bath, are also really nice & clean, and there‘s equipment to do one‘s own cooking, to do laundry, and there‘s a community lounge to enjoy time with other guests and the host, Ken-San! The location is far from Naruto station, but Ken-San picked me up there & also gave me lifts to the famous Naruto Strait, to the restaurant for dinner and the store for breakfast shopping, and also to the station in the morning, and he helped me look up the information how to continue my trip in Shikoku. His Engish is perfect, so also guests wit no command of Japanese shall find that there‘s no problem with communication, and he really is one of the greatest guys ever!! Highly recommended to everyone who wants to stay a bit ouside of the big centers of Japan! Thank you so much, Ken-San!!
