Riad A La Belle Etoile
Authentic Moroccan experience”
It is a riad (i.e. traditional Moroccan house with a courtyard). The room was very clean, well decorated and fitted with an air-conditioning unit. The staff were really nice and welcoming. The owner himself served us breakfast at the roof top. We could see half of Sale and Rabat from the roof top, the view was amazing. Overall, very good value for money and will definitely recommend.
The Riad has NO PARKING. You only can park the car on the street. The cleaning was unacceptable, from dirty bed sheets to bedbugs. The breakfast was worst we had during our trip in Marrocco. Old bread, croissant and cake, it was the only food served. Not even one marrocain speciality. Really disappointment!
Good accommodation, nice roof terrace with sea view”
Very good sea view room
Bad location with no windows and expensive price ”
The location is not good,it’s in sale, far from the Rabat station and Medina. My booking is double sea view room but the room is very dark and doesn’t have a window even though the host had given us another big family room. The description of my reservation contains all the tax,but we still were charged the so called ‘living tax’ by the host for 40 per person per night. It’s really a terrible experience.
Please note: this is not a 4 star hotel, it is a typical accommodation. Everything was clean and tidy, the staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is not Rabat but Sale. The location is not the best. The accommodation is difficult to find in a side street. Overall, price and performance fit.
The location is close to tramway and to Marina Bouregreg The staff is very friendly and quite agreeable Their terasse is wonderful
It’s a very good place to stay. I like it here.
It was a great experience and thanks for everything!
Rustic and Beautiful”
I love the place. The roof top is one of the best place to hang out after a long day of walking. The owner nephew or perhaps son is very accommodating.
Good - but a serious WARNING”
This is a lovely, well run riad. My room was spacious, clean and even had a desk. All good. The only problem is that I booked it thinking it was in Rabat. It is not. It is in a city called, Sale, which is over the river from Rabat but runs 20-30 kms down the coast. When I found out it was not in Rabat, I tried to cancel, the owners refused. The place was too far from Rabat to take in the Rabat sights, I even had to change my train booking because Rabat station was too far away and wold have cost a fortune in taxis. At best this is a misreprasentation and false adveertising, and at worse a scam. Agoda needs to take some responsibilty for listing this place under Rabat. It isn't
Such a beautiful property! Not very central to things to do in Rabat but their rooftop patio is gorgeous. The staff is a little hard to communicate with if you don't speak French or Arabic but they are very sweet and do their best regardless
Very nice ”
Very nice hotel
Enjoyable, interesting, friendly staff”
A very enjoyable stay in a hotel that was interesting in Moroccan architecture, with good views of the city and great staff
Clean comfortable, great staff, good views”
A very pleasant stay, very friendly staff a good breakfast and some interesting views from the roof garden
comfortable, friendly and clean”
Great... perfect a lovely stay at this hotel. The hospitality was great
Nice riad but not worth the money”
This riad is beautifully restored and worth going for a night as a special treat. The ladies who work there are very friendly. We had a fabulous although again very expensive meal the first night, the second night the meal was pretty mediocre. we were expecting a bit more than chicken couscous and fruit salad. The hotel also advertised free mineral water so we were surprised to be presented with a bill for two bottles of water consumed in our room when we left. It's not that we mind buying our own water but think they should honour their advertising promises. The owner shouted at me loudly in front of other guests when I queried this. Totally unnecessary and embarrassing. On the third night we were told we had to move rooms. dmittedly it was an upgrade but we didn5 want to change. Sale itself is a complete dump and there is little other choice for eating unless you go to Rabat for the evening.
CLOSE TO SALE MADINAN, EASY TO REACH HASSAN PORT”
COMFORTABLE , CONVIENT AND CLOSE TO THE TRAM STATION
Small Rooms and Smelly Toilet”
It was an OK experience. Dont pay more than £30 -35 its not worth more.
lovely riad, lovely couple who run it!”
I loved this place - the first riad i stayed in in Morocco. And i would definitely stay there again. The couple who run it are very pleasant, breakfast was good, so was dinner. It was much nicer to stay in Sale than in Rabat and this Riad is an example why. We had the room on the roof and we had the whole place to ourselves. the view across the town is fantastic.
