Disappointing ”
On arrival last Friday night the receptionist was unfriendly & unwelcoming. She advised that she couldn’t accept my credit card as it was declined. I called my bank on Monday & they found she had been putting in a wrong expiry date. Thank goodness I had an alternate card to use. I also presented my Priorty Rewards card and asked some questions about its features but she couldn’t give me any information about it, just handed it back with a blank look. Definitely no service with a smile there! The next day we left our room at 9am, putting the “Please make up my room” sign on the door. Returning at 1.30pm, the room was still ubtouched. The next day though , a cleaner managed to quickly knock and efficiently start to enter our room 20 minutes BEFORE our check out time. Thanks for the inconsistency - I enjoyed my naked leap & run to hold the door closed, in the middle of making the most of “sleep in Sunday”.

Very dated hotel”
Surely this hotel had its good times, but they are definitely gone! The room looked like it was renovated but in the cheapest possible way. The paint on the tiles in the bathroom already came off. Basically everything in this hotel is old and feels very dated. Bad value for money compared to other options in North Sydney.

The room we stayed in was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the price was reasonable. The room could use modernising, but for the price it was I was happy. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do more for us. Breakfast was included, but we slept in and didn't get to try the food, we also requested a late checkout which we weren't charged extra for. Only thing was there was limited parking and it couldn't be pre-booked so I had to park on the street, luckily it was a weekend and there were no fees for parking on the street.

We arrived almost 3 pm but have to wait for few minutes before we had the room. Before that, I could see 3 people at the reception but only 1 was looking after the guests so we waited for few minutes. A bit challenging to locate where to enter and exit. Would absolutely not recommend it.

So dissatisfied ”
I stayed at Rydges North Sydney on Saturday night and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. There was 2 adults and 1 child in the room. First we were told there was NO bed for my 6 year old son. We sorted that out by using some pillows and cushions on the floor for him to lay in. After this I went down to ask for a blanket for him only to be told they had NO spare blankets for him. There were no spares in the cupboard, no spare pillows in the room. My son slept on the floor, on cushions using the bed throw that goes on the bottom of the bed for decoration and towels to keep him warm. He woke up during the night freezing several times till eventually we had to put him in bed with us. I am really annoyed that such a lack of care was given and the way we were just dismissed. Terrible place.

Major Refurbishment Required”
As most of the comments have said, this hotel is in desperate need of a major refurbishment. The room was very outdated and 'worn'. Staff were by friendly and polite. Disappointed that we had to pay for a bottle of water. Most high level hotels we have stayed in offer at least one or two bottles of complimentary water. Would not recommend this hotel.

Should have room option for smokers. Bathrobe should be provided especially on cold seasons. Should have heater aircon. For cold seasons heater bed will be great.

we were sold a room for 3 adults and 2 children for 2 nights , there were no suffienect bedding for everyone, so they had to bring a portable bed with most uncomfortable mattress ever and we used a sofa as another form of bedding . there were cockroaches in the room. the only most decent service was their breakfast buffet with very professional staff !

I expected the hotel to have a swimming pool, sauna, etc., but none was there. They did have a good breakfast buffet included which was good. Nothing to write home about!!!

The hotel itself was OK but its staff were brilliant. The airline had lost my baggage and told me it would be delivered to the hotel. Once the staff were aware of that they took over and liaised with Qantas on my behalf updating me as necessary until the bags turned up.
