Nicest Staff In Town”
Close to Shinjuku, yet peaceful and not commercialized. A minute to post office, convenience store, and cool little alley with shops and restaurants. Front desk staff always go above and beyond to be helpful in any way possible. Great morning coffee.
Could be better”
Pro - easy access to and from Hatagaya Station. Many restaurants, convenient stores and a 24-hour supermarket nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Simple breakfast provided. Con - Cleanliness of the room could be improved. Had to change room on the second day due to weird smell from the bathroom. The room we stayed in was not soundproof and can hear plumbing noise when guests staying at upper floor using the toilet.
Nice and cozy”
Pros ; -Breakfast included (bread, drinks and soup) -2 min walk from Hatagaya station and 2 stops away from Shinjuku station -English speaking staffs -WiFi and computers to use Cons; -a little cramp for more than one person -no ventilation in the washroom, stinks after a while Overall, I would come back again for the price!
Welcoming hotel and perfect quality / price ratio!”
Convenient location, 1 min walk from Hatagaya metro station, which is 2 stations away from Shinjuku which takes you everywhere. Basic breakfast included but other meals are available if you like. Quiet place at night, no street noise either so perfect to sleep. All staff members speak a really good English and they are always available and helpful. I made a second reservation to extend my stay in a different room and they were kind enough to let me switch my bags before official check in time, thank you for that! Safe and convenient luggage storage by the way if you arrive early or need to catch a late plane after checking out. Nice walk through residential areas to reach Yoyogi park to get away from the fuss of Shinjuku and Shibuya which can be overwhelming after a while. I will definitely stay there next time I come to Tokyo!
Perfect for solo travelers or small groups; not good for large families”
The hotel is in an excellent location: near the train station and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. However, the rooms are very tiny and is not good for larger groups or people who like to shop and buy tons of stuff. If you are a solo traveler or a small family, I highly recommend this hotel.
Location was good Two station from Shinjuku But overall the cleanliness of the hotel was bad Super dirty and I felt itchy every night. Aircon was the old old type We stayed on April which is cold in weather But the temperature inside our room was very warm . Sometimes we need to open the window to let the wind outside become our aircon. If not really cannot sleep. Room really small One person can walk once at the time . Luggage not enough space to store it. That is not a good experience of stay. Service of the staff not so friendly.
Dated and a bit run down ”
Got a room that has a smell from the toilet and noise coming from don’t know where. Hotel staff was nice enough to upgrade my room which was much better than the first room.
Surrounding neighbourhood is fine with family mart just nearby but we only realised that the station nearby is a private railway and does not fall under Tokyo metro or Toei subway so the tourist pass cannot be used for that. Apart from that, room is fine and pretty decent.
Very accessible and value for money”
Pros - 3 mins walk to Hatagaya station that's 2 stops to Shinjuku a huge plus, near restos, convenience stores and grocery, friendly staff, clean and great accommodations Cons - not much luggage space but that's expected. We tried triple and quadruple rooms. Latter allowed us to spread out our luggage on the floor so there's more space. But hey, that's expected in Japan! The hotel provided smartphone wasn't a wifi hotspot so it's a bummer so we still had to rent a router separately.
Highly Recommended ”
We are a couple & have been very impressed by all staff @ Sakura....reception, room attendants, restaurant , check-in process..great price for Tokyo. English spoken very well... Very knowledgeable staff for local activities & transport options. Shinjuku Station is 2 stops
Love the place and Friendly Staff”
Its my 2nd time in Japan and I always choose Sakura Hotel Hatagaya. Location is one of the best, 2mins away from train station. Lots of food to eat near the area and conveniece store is just a stone throw away.. Staffs are friendly as always room is clean and they provide you free phone while u stay.. Will definite still stay here when I go back again.. Dedinitely recommended.. Thank you Sakura Hotel Hatagaya staff for my 2nd awesome stay with you.. Till my next stay
Pros and con of choosing Sakura Hotel Hatagaya”
I stayed in this hotel for eight nights in September 2018. Of all the advantages of staying in this hotel, the most important for me was close proximity to a train station exit. It was also walking distance from restaurants and convenience/ grocery stores. While breakfast options can be diversified, I was satisfied with what the hotel offered. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Tokyo partly because of my experience with this hotel.
A holiday to be remembered”
Its an awesome holiday for us who are the first-time traveler to Tokyo. Close proximity to train station plus friendly and competent hotel staff are some of the great combination. We will definitely come to this hotel again for our next trip to Tokyo.
One of the cheapest accommodations in Shibuya. 2 minute walk from KEIO Shinsen Hatagaya station, very accessible. They serve bread, coffee and soup in the morning for free which is awesome. The toilet in our room didnt have the bidet tho, it was just a normal toilet. They clean the room everyday but i dont think they clean properly. Staff are very accommodating and speak English well. They know the directions to any tourist destinations, they really good. The room was small cause we were a bit challenged moving around but the bed will surely fit 2 people. I would stay again in this hotel when I go back. Keep it up guys :)
Excellent budget hotel”
Great location near hatagaya station, restos, family mart and coffeshops. Great staff, speaks and understands english. Small rooms but clean. Provision of a local celfone with wifi for every room was a big help!
Reasonable value for money”
The place was clean, the staff were nice, the wifi was fast. Do not expect too much for the breakfast; it is just coffee, bread, and jam. The room though is very very small. Not overreacting or anything, but it is really small. We just placed our luggages under the bed so we could have more space for ourselves; but still it was too small for us to move around. The place was a bit far from Shibuya (crossing, Hachiko statue, etc.) and Shinjuku, but easily accessible by train.
Would have been nice but our room smelled like raw sewage...”
The place is cute, a little shabby but charming. I like the 24 hour cafe and good location. It wasn't expensive, so I didn't have high expectations. We would have been happy with our room, except that the bathroom smelled TERRIBLE. Like, we're not picky. I tried to brush my teeth and almost hurled. After a few hours of being in our room and the smell not getting better, we asked to be transferred to a new room. At first woman said they were full and it wasn't possible, but my boyfriend asked "can you check?" and the woman was like "oh, we do have a room." She didn't seem happy at all, and I understand that it is an inconvenience, but really if they hadn't wanted to move us they shouldn't have put us in the poo room. I did notice when we first went in the room, the window was open, so perhaps they thought it would air out before we got there, so that in itself is understandable, but the attitude wasn't cool. We got moved to a tiny room with a view of the stairwell.
good location and staffs were friendly. however, room was super cramped. there is absolutely no space for 2 person to walk freely, let alone opening your luggage. walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours walking, talking and knocking on doors loudly. the entire ceiling and various spots, including walls were dirty and filled with dust. very disappointed with room cleaning, he/she ended up spilling my cup of tea that was left on the table which labelled "do not touch" and did not bother to wipe off the spilled tea on the table and my luggage. had to inform the counter and they were kind enough to give us some towels to clean
Great location ”
It's a lot smaller than hotels in North America so be prepared for that. The room, bed, bathroom, tub, everything it small. Good for just crashing after a long day of travelling. The location was great near big areas like Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. Would recommend if you don't mind the room being a bit tight.
Just what you need for a base camp”
Basic, comfortable, convenient, nice area, and friendly helpful staff. Its not fancy, but it is comfortable, has a nice cafe, fridge in room, no tea pot or microwave, but cafe is 24/7. There is a metro station 1 block away, 24/7 market near by, and some good restaurants. You are not in the middle of the action, it is a nice residential area that is more relaxed, yet its just 2 metro stops away from the busiest part of Tokyo. Room was small, but acceptable for 2 people, bathroom was good size. If you like more luxury, or want a sitting area in the room, this is not for you. It was a good value for those that dont want to spend a lot of time in the room and want to be out and about. I would certainly stay there again.
