Incredible location and super friendly staff ”
The location is amazing, but then to be fair, the entire island is beautiful so that alone is not the reason for my positive review. The staff made this a special experience - without having to be asked, the automatically upgraded our rooms when they realised the scheduled pool renovation might inconvenience us. Nothing was to much trouble - very friendly and professional. Our upgraded room had its own little swimming pool and a beautiful sea view. The room itself was luxurious and staying here was an absolute treat! Decided to stay on for another few days as a result.
Great food at the hotel’s restaurant and at a very good price compared to some of the other hotels we’ve stayed at in Thailand. Staff were friendly and room was great. If you would like to explore the island you’ll need to rent a bike which you can do at reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
place with a good feeling”
this is second time we stay at Salad Buri, this place has its charm. rooms have beautiful view, bathtub on the balcony is very relaxing, our baby spent a lot of time in it. room is mostly wooden, nicely decorated, though it needs some renovation. swimming pool is huge, a lot of sunbeds. Beach in front of the hotel is not good, you have to walk at least to the middle of the beach for a good swim. Minimarkets are quite away and very expensive, I suggest Salad Buri needs their own convenience store.
Stunning location ”
Stayed in the 2 bed pool villa on the lake. Wonderful location, peaceful and private. Staff were wonderful and so helpful. Food great and reasonably priced and would highly recommend a stay for a few days. Contact the management prior to arrival and they will arrange pick up at the pier.
Beautiful location and great room with private pool. It's a hike up to the room (although it means you're rewarded with incredible views from balcony). The staff were always happy to drive us up to our room with the hotel cart. Breakfast buffet was a nice selection. Would definitely stay again.
Picturesque setting for couple's holiday”
Check in very painless, and aside from a couple of minor issues, we were very happy with the room. Loved the swan / elephant sculptures made out of towels on the bed each morning! Staff were attentive, and the overall atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxing. Criticisms would be: very limited number of English TV channels available (just four news channels) and the hot water system for the bath shower requires the air conditioning to be on for a while before delivering any hot water - a nice energy saving idea, but in practicality didn't work so well. Highly recommended: Just opposite the entrance to the resort is a superb steak restaurant called 'Peppercorn' - truly excellent steaks cooked and served by a lovely German couple, was a real treat!
beautiful hotel and beach”
hotel is amazing in its looks, private villa with swimming pool was amazing. price was a bit high, hotel restaurant is great, especially at night time. the only problem is the flies and mosquitoes all day long close to the lagoon area.
beautiful view with private pool.”
the room is big and clean. We have one bedroom and one living room, it is very comfortble for family. The private pool is small, but sweet, you can play water with the kids or just sit on the chair to watch sea view. It is close to the market too. Breakfast is fantastic as well. Yong people like to swim here, but the sand of beach is not tiny.
Amazing hotel and resort on the beach”
Not a bad word to say about this amazing hotel and resort. The service was great and the my room was prepared amazingly everyday as soon as I left the room. The hotel and resort sits right on the white sandy beach of Haad Salad and you couldn't ask for a better location. Although the food is expensive for thai standards, it was delicious and the staff who serve are awesome with nice smiles. Would definitely stay again in the future and recommend to everyone.
Lovely resort and service with a smile”
We decided spontaniously to stay there for our last 2 days. We have already seen pretty much of the island so we only wanted to chillax and hang out at the pool/sea the last two days... In fact, Salad Buri was the perfect place to do that! - Staff was very friendly and all speak good english. - Our (standard) room was small but very very comfy, on a high quality standard and very well desgined! - Pool was clean and served by a waiter from the restaurant. - Thong Sala <=> Salad Buri = One way 150 THB, which seems a fair price for me! Perfect place to hang out, relax or even to see something of the island... Salad Buri, it is! :-)
Apart from a great view over the bay from our room, we cannot recommend this place. The (predominantly male) staff is really disengaged. Whenever we had to look for someone they were not easy to find ... and we had to look for someone often, especially during breakfast for simple things like getting an omelet or glasses. Also, the water in the room was cold on the first day. Apparently you have to tell them so they turn on the water heater.
Grate location great pool and room but very roof staff ”
Hi The hotel is in. A great beach the pool is wonderful and our room (villa pool ) was great But and a big but !!! The staff is very very not nice and may I said rood. The breakfast is poor and not so fresh We tried ones the restaurant for lunch and it was horrible. You can find next to the hotel very nice and tasty places to eat
Peaceful stay and very friendly helpful staff”
My boyfriend and I were very happy with our stay here. It’s a beautifully located place and a decent price. Over our trip we had some problems with transfer bookings and the staff helped us a huge amount to understand what to do. The food staff were also equally kind. The restaurant food was ok, great breakfast but some of the dinner menu wasn’t as great. However I’d highly recommend staying here for a peaceful and beautiful holiday.
Beautiful beach, amazing breakfast ”
Beach front, amazing breakfast, beautiful beach (some stones, but super clear water), gorgeous sunset. The road to the hotel is steep downhill and the room itself is on a hill. Very clean, comfortable room, no balcony. Friendly staff.
Salad Buri Resort & No Spa (2 Star): worst service of my life & disgustingly dirty rooms”
*Warning: this is not a 4 star hotel* Pros: the ocean view facing away from resort. *note there is no ‘partial seaview’ for the private pool villas as advertised. Cons: dirty, moudly, no maintenance, rude, unfriendly & unhappy staff. No manager. Mainly untrained Myanmar staff who do speak Thai or any English. Having lived in Thailand for years and travelled extensively, this was one of the worst experiences of my life. I’ve stayed in more clean, organized and friendly 1-2 star backpacker hotels 20 years ago. This hotel is nowhere 4 star. 2 star at best. Shameful service, marketing, lack of maintenance and lack of management. Highly unrecommended.
We travelled with a large group of 14 and they were always there to help us organise travel and activities for us during our stay. We loved staying at Salad Buri and it created so many life long memories
Very Nice hotel clean close to THE beach Nice people i have seven other reviews About this hotel and Some wrote That its not good i have traveld for 25 years and must say That it was Great just go there and enjoy ok THE hot tub is not working but come on THE rest makes up for it
Wouldnt stay there again”
Rooms are ok and spacious however want ridiculously deposit or passport for the key( never happened to me with any other hotel before) when i said i dont have 1000 baht and need to go atm they insisted on keeping my passport in order for them to give me the keys. Not a great start of my stay there, wouldnt go back.
Could be good but....”
Like the other recent reviews I was disappointed with this place. The location is good, the beach is nice and the pool is okay. However there are numerous issues in the rooms, too many to mention. The staff are quite rude, unhelpful. The food is dire, breakfast buffet one of the worst I’ve had. It seems like no one there can be bothered to put the effort in to improve the place. I checked out early and would not recommend this place until they have new management that can put the effort in.
Lovely location right on the beach ”
We spent 5 nights here loved the place and pool beach were lovely it is on a very steep hill so not ideal for everyone but the views from our room were superb even though nearly 100 steps to climb. The only problem was the jacuzzi bath on our balcony was broken and were told after.upgrading our room. The room itself was lovely clean good air conditioning mini bar fridge and safe too. The main problem for us was the breakfast it was quite limited and also most of it was cold ie bacon etc no heaters lit underneath the Turin’s same with coffee it was put into a an urn so was lukewarm also there wasn’t much atmosphere in the restaurant could have done with some more background music although restaurant was faultless and staff very friendly. This place could be almost perfect with a little bit more effort with the breakfast buffet but had a lovely time and would definitely revisit
