Such a great place!”
We loved loved loved seafar! We didn’t feel like we needed to see any other beach on the island because our beach was right there and BEAUTIFUL! The resort lent us kayaks and snorkels for free as well! Our room was cleaned spotlessly every day-despite the sand we undoubtedly tracked in the room. The beach bar wasn’t up and going yet, because we came at the tail end of the low season, but this was a small price to pay for having the beach and resort almost entirely to ourselves. What a lovely vacation we had at seafar!!!
Seafar was a lovely place to stay on Koh Kood. Our accomodations were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort was nicely located right on the beach, with a long boardwalk and a good, clean strip of sand. The pool was very nice, and was lit at night, making it a nice place to hang out for the entirety of the day. The resort restaurant had good food for dinners (though it was a little pricey--there are cheaper options on the road outside the resort). The breakfast provided was simple, but good; they had cereals, eggs, good pancakes, fruit, and an assortment of Thai food. The resort also had bread, butter, and jams out all day with a toaster, along with hot water and packets of coffee, tea, and Milo. This little snack area was kept neat, clean, and covered, and came in handy. There was drinking water available for free all day every day. The resort staff were able to call taxis if needed, and there are also motorbikes for rent.
Good, but could be better”
The pro's: Stunning location, great beach and snorkeling right on the doorstep, sunset view, pool is large too, fitness gym really good, convenient scooter rental (gas included!), staff is super friendly and helpful. the cons: sliding doors to room can't fully close so beware of mosquitoes, the mosquitoes are giant by the way, the room (A8) had a leaking toilet water connection and could need a thorough cleaning, the BBQ one night made us very sick (I suspect the beef so make sure fully cooked!), breakfast is bare minimal for European, food in general is okay but go eat somewhere else after 2 days (plenty of options in the town towards high-season).
Good location and helpful staff”
Locate on a nice beach along with other resorts. You can go to any beach on Koh Kut, most of the beaches are nice and open to public. Breakfast is good. There’s a BBQ dinner every night that closes early around 8.30pm. Get a motorbike to venture out. The road out from resort is rocky, most of the roads on the island are in good condition with some very steep and winding. Spacious clean chalet but very close to each other. It’s basic but you will spent most of the time out having fun.
Best Value, Friendly staff, Local touch and awesome location !”
The resort look like typical island resort but their service and food are exceptional. The best thing for this resort is the price that is quite reasonable comparing to other resort on the island and the location is also great, the resort is beach front. Would love to visit Seafar resort again the future!
We were at the SeaFar over new year's following the recommendation of a friend. It is family-run, and the family truly cares about their guests and taking good care of the property. It isn't fancy, but it isn't low rent either - the perfect balance for a relaxing beach vacation. The beach has just 5 resorts and plenty of undeveloped areas filled with coconut palms. Perfect balance of enough places to go besides the resort and peace and quiet. There is an area with decent snorkeling right in front, and kayaks for free to borrow. Would definitely stay here again if returning to Koh Kood.
Like it so much this was the 2nd time in 2016”
Check my review after my 24 March stay also. I stayed 14 nights on my Agoda booking in 7 November. I planned my 63 day stay with 12 non-reserved days and I feared I would not find anywhere I like as much as the Seafar and Koh Kut so we ended up staying 26 days. Po told us we were the longest staying guests she has had. I'm back in cold, rainy Seattle now and Thailand again seems like only a dream. I love all the staff and everything about this resort and this island. Make sure to go into the massage at the hospital while you are on the island, the eldest lady is a miracle worker. I can't wait to come back, love to all the lovely staff. XOXO
Every part of the Sea Far Resort was done top notch. No short cuts were taken.”
The only bad thing I can say about the entire resort was the instant hot water tank could not be regulated in the shower. It constantly went from too hot to too cold no matter the setting. This minor issue pales to all the marvelous things about this place. I rode over 300 km on a motorbike and I did not see one place I would choose over this one. And my 18 and 15 year old daughters agree totally. I was very proud of my online decision making! My girls really like swimming pools and the lack of one was my only regret when I made the reservation, but I figured the crystal clear 90 degree ocean would do nicely. Then upon Arrival and meeting the resort manager/part owner Po she tell us they had put in a swimming pool since I made the reservation 9 months earlier! Now, I was thinking it would be a small pools somewhere on the property...After we put our stuff into the room, I took a walk away from the ocean and WHOA! There was this great big, brand new swimming pool! Now granted it was warmer than the ocean, but it still was nice to swim in most every day after watching the sunset. What an awesome time we had I only wish I could have stayed until I wanted to leave. I also want to mention the awesome staff. What a bunch of nice you people that are working there. I will be back after I explore a few more places that I have not been to on this blue rock.
Everything is fine here but you can book much better resorts for the same price if not less. The beach is beautiful and the pool is well maintained. The western items at breakfast did not change during our visit and there is little choice to begin with. As the breakfast was poor we decided not to eat at the resort. One major issue we had was that the receptionist did not book our onward transfer. Rather than simply admit the mistake she lied to us and Sea Far Resort have failed to reply to any emails since regarding this issue. If you have the time look for another resort but do visit the beach this resort is on.
We were extremely happy with beach bungalow with jacuzzi. Highly recommend it. Our C1 Bungalow was at the very corner of resort so it was very quiet and peaceful. The beach in front of villa has a lot of rocks and the sea is very shallow during low tide, but only some meters to the left side there is sandy beach perfect for swimming even during low tide. The common problem in Thailand are mosquitoes, unfortunately the room doesn’t have mosquito net so be sure to get enough anti-mosquito spray. You can also buy it and other necessary things (including basic medicines) in the shop which is 15 min by foot. The food in hotel restaurant was quite good with everyday BBQ from 6 pm to 9 pm. Also, there are 3 more hotels nearby where you can get food. The beach bar was great with happy hours when all cocktails cost 150 TB. Unlimited drinking water, tea, instant coffee and toasts. The only problem during our stay was that some days (especially on weekend) we had to remind to clean our room.
Stunning location ”
Friendly staff great location on the beach- no coffee/tea facilities in room ( but available free at restaurant any time) no safe in room- no cable TV (no English speaking channels all Thai) door lock not really secure either! nice pool but at back of property not near beach and no umbrellas- shade so very hot! Best beach bar with happy hour cocktails while watching sunset- we moved accommodation after first night but kept coming back to drink at bar -
Overall a beautiful, well maintained place with an amazing location..”
Poor staff and food ruins the experience. The reception staff doesn’t speak English at all which makes it hard to even order food. We came here during low season and to our disappointment the place was under renovation. The beach bar was closed and the main dining place was often noisy due to construction work. Maybe in high season it’s better but we wouldn’t recommend...
very good location on very good beach
Would absolutely recommend! Fantastic beach and amazing food. Very nice staff too.
Stayed in C2, the second beachfront bungalow from the end where we were 25 ft from the ocean. The staff were all great, the restaurant/bar very convenient. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was a good way to start the day. Recommend renting a moped from front desk to explore the island. Our speedboat was able to drop off/pick up right from the resorts pier where we were sent off warmly from the staff. The ladies at the front desk and the owner were especially warm and helpful, was sad to leave.
Gorgeous beach! Stellar staff!”
Our boys are 8 and 11 and loved this resort. The beach and water are ideal. The swings in the trees kept them entertained for hours, along with the snorkeling. I had a motorcycle accident while there and was struggling to walk. They went above and beyond to get me a wheelchair on loan from the hospital and even had ramps installed to get to our room. I had to go to the hospital for dressing changes on my wounds and a staff member was always willing to take me. Just exceptional service for a total pain in the rear customer! Even if you’re not planning on getting badly hurt, it’s a gorgeous location with great amenities (kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc.).
Excellent location on the seafront, staff all very nice in this seemingly family run hotel. Could just do with a bit of entertainment in the night. Very nice place overall and would definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel with amazingly nice staff!”
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The whole staff were amazing! they did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. I recommend the cabins in front of the sea - really 10 meters from the sea. Sea is very calm and safe. There were a lot of families with smaller children...
Nice beach. Can donly some snorkeling right there. Nice sunsets if there is any sun. I didn't see much of it. The swimming pool is ok too. Room was fine. Cons food menu is basic and low quality but like the whole island very overpriced. Lots of satellite dishes on the premises but no English channels. No wifi in the room. Mosquitos huge. Was bitten twice locking my door the first night! I stayed in 5 different resorts there. Not sure I'd recommend any. Certainly wouldn't go back to koh kood.
Two weeks in paradise”
We had an excellent stay in Seafar for two weeks! Po and her staff were amazing and pretty much everything we wanted was fulfilled. The pool was nice and the beach wonderful. Beach was very safe for children, and just after 100m of sand you could snorkel over beautiful corals. Kayaks and snorkeling gear were free to use, and provided fun daytrips. We visited Seafar during low-season so beach bar etc. were closed, but for us that was no problem. All together we would definitely recommend the place, and hope to visit it again!
