This low-rise motor inn-styled property is big on retro charm, a short walk from Times Square and the theaters on Broadway. Located in Clinton, the Skyline Hotel shares real estate with Restaurant Row, many of Manhattan's transport hubs, and a good number of Broadway stars and TV personalities. The area made popular by West Side Story is now mostly gentrified, and guests staying in this hotel can expect a safe neighborhood feel rather than the high energy of the inner city. Rooms are recently refurbished, and the penthouse pool area provides views of the Manhattan skyline. Reflecting its efficiency as a motor inn, the Skyline Hotel also offers cheap parking, and being in an area of strong infrastructure, getting any type of public transport is an easy task.

Great location ”
Hotel is in a great location just 3 blocks from Times Square! Hotel facilities were not the best, no drinks (tea/coffee) making facilities in the rooms and hotel restaurant and bar was never open during our 5 day stay. Not too big of a deal as loads of good places two eat on 8th a few minutes away. Clean and great location.
Week holiday in New York ”
Hotel was in great location right next to hells kitchen area lots of fab eating places all reasonable priced ,rooms in hotel very gd size for New York +bonus with having a pool, housekeeping was very good +friendly over all we had a very enjoyable stay.
Nice hotel close enough to time square ”
Hotel Room and bathroom were "large" for NYC hotel rooms. The biggest thing I like about his hotel, is that it’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of time square, but close enough to walk there in 10 minutes.
Its in HellsKitchen so its really situated good. Rooms are big but a bit old. Price wise its good. Bring your own toothbrushes coz the hotel does not provide any. Oh and hide it too sfter using coz the cleaning lady might mistakenly throw it :-)
Everything is good except the tub drains very slowly and that causes the bathroom smells bad. We called for help but it was not fixed before we checked out.
Stayed for a week - family of 4. Room was spacious and clean, beds were comfortable. Good location, short walk to Times Square and subway stations. Great deli across the road too. Would stay again and recommend to others.
NYC - The city that never sleeps”
Upon arrival, check in was quick, easy and very friendly We stayed in executive king room located in the west wing - WOW Room was very spacious and had an amazing view of NYC Any questions, just ask the staff, they have the knowledge Location was good as was just outside the hub of the crowds Would we return to this hotel - ABSOLUTELY
New York on a budget”
I travelled with my teenage daughters and the Skyline Hotel was perfect for what I needed. We wanted the location to be close enough to Times Square and all the other amazing sites and it was. We wanted to feel safe and we did. We wanted a standard, clean and comfortable hotel and it was. The only thing it lacked is any breakfast facilities in the room like a toaster or a kettle.
Great value, friendly staff, large rooms”
Rooms are a normal hotel size - not a mirco room like you can get in the city. Our room fit a king bed, sofa, desk and had plenty room to move! Clean, updated bathroom, great views and right in the middle off the city Lincoln tunnel. Hotel is on the outskirts of the theater district so very convenient if you’re there for a show. A bit of a hike to the 1 Line but not a big deal as you get to traverse across the outer lying Time Square area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was next to the hotel and was $10 a day with our stay. HUGE VALUE.
Great room and excellent value!”
I was extremely pleased with the room. It was very large and very clean. The bathroom was great. The only downside is no coffee in the room. They have coffee set up in the lobby for a couple of hours in the morning. There are two delis right across the street, but I would have liked coffee in the room. When I tried calling room service, I got an answering machine.
Nice hotel ideal for families”
Even if it doesn’t look that great from the outside, it is a pleasant hotel. We booked a king suite room for our 5-year old daughter and us which was perfect. The room was big and not too noisy. We enjoyed our time there.
Great Location and Price”
Great location and price for its proximity.
Concierge was exceptional.”
We would stay again.
Except the mean staff everything is good. The room is spacious and clean. The location is good, the hells kitchen area is a quite place and it takes only around 10-15min by walk to Tims Square.
Good value in an underappreciated location”
This is a go-to hotel for me when looking for value in NYC. Manhattan hotel prices can be insane, not to mention that many of the hotels are in touristy areas with less character. The Skyline is right in Hell's Kitchen and is almost always reasonable in cost. It's quiet, the staff is professional and efficient, and the area is a little less crazy than midtown, Times Square, etc. There are some great restaurants within a few blocks also. The rooms themselves are nicely-sized, not the more customary postage-stamp sized rooms in some areas, and are always clean (kudos to the housekeeping staff!) It also benefits from its west-side location, making subway travel a little easier, especially to either downtown or the upper-west side. There's a garage attached, which I've never used, but prices look reasonable by Manhattan standards (just over $40/day) and it would be easy to get in & out of as 10th is a bit less busy than some of the other Avenues.
This hotel is a gem”
The rooms are large and luxurious for NYC standards and at a fantastic price. I love this hotel and have stayed here on all of my NYC trips since 2005. The neighbour is wonderful. It’s local to everything but has the peace and tranquility every tourist needs after a hard days sightseeing. It’s located on 49th st /10th ave and is only a 5 minute walk to lots of excellent local eateries like Otto’s Tacos, Churrascaria Platforma, The Meatball Place and close enough to Times Square for Shake Shack, Red Lobster, Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday’s, Juniors (best cheesecake hands down!) and so on. Plenty of access to subways. We got the air train and the E from Jamaica and arrived into 50th street just a block or so away. The staff are really helpful and friendly too creating a lovey atmosphere in the foyer. If you stay here, I’m sure you will love it too!
Good value for money.”
Travavelling with older teens for a month was looking for 2 rooms.. Rooms are great size and comfortable and clean. Loved being able to open a window. The Skyline zDeli over the road and Laundry on same side were fantastic. We used Subway so good walkable distance. 9 th St has los of Restaurants. Overall good with minor negatives of noisy AC, thin walls and a little dated. Would say again!
Great hotel for what you pay. Rooms are big enough and very clean. Lobby and common areas could use an upgrade. Friendly staff and great location. Easy to walk to time square and central park. Would stay here again.
NO free wifi in room!”
Yeap, only chargeable wifi in room, where almost all other hotels provide in room free wifi..... The lobby has free wifi though, but.... The only good facilities here is the indoor heated swimming pool, no sauna or steam room though. :(
Convenient hotel near Times Square”
A few blocks off the beaten path but safe and clean. Parking next door is $10 per day if you spend the night. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
