Relax in paradise, perfect location, great owner.”
I had booked 4 nights but stayed another 3 nights, because I really enjoyed the place and the surrounding. My beach bungalow was just a couple of meters from the sea, and I've almost never slept so good ever, every night as I did now. Sok San Beach Bungalows is in the north part of the 7 km long beach, and there are some more bungalow resorts and even a small local fishing village. South of Sok San it's still totally empty, you can walk and be totally alone on an endless paradise beach with crystal clear water. As a guest of Sok San Beach Bungalows you can borrow snorkelling equipment for free. Just ask Julian, the owner, and he will tell you the best places to go. I also went on a boat day trip further north where we first stayed snorkelling outside a coral reef and then went fishing. After that we had a beach BBQ and watched the sunset on the same beach the TV show "Survivor" has been produced. Visiting the nearby waterfall and be able to stand in it and take a shower was also great. But the best of all was my staying at Sok San Beach Bungalows and getting to know Julian, the always happy and helpful owner. In Cambodia they like to copy things. So remember that this is the original Sok San Beach Bungalows. Because there are also other places with similar names, like "Sok San new beach bungalows" "Sok San Beach resort" and "Sok San long beach bungalows". If you want to experience simple beach life, like Thailand 25 years ago, I really recommend you to visit these paradise Cambodian islands. But don't wait too long, development is coming quickly.

Trip to paradise”
I stayed at Sok San beach bungalows for 5 nights and it was a fantastic and a perfect end to 4 weeks in Cambodia. Garry the owner, John the manager and all the staffs are brilliant and do everything in their power to help make your visit as relaxing and peaceful as possible. The bungalow I stayed in was rustic, comfortable and clean and clean bedding and towels where also provided. The Sok San restaurant//bar offers amazing views, great food (fairly priced) and cold beer and is perfect way to relax after a hard day of doing nothing!! To sum after 5 days of sand, sea, eating, drinking and snorkelling (they hire al the gear you need) the biggest shock going back to reality.....already planning to return next year!

Best kept secret in Cambodia!”
Truly amazing! I never wanted to leave. Make sure you understand the main area the speed ferries take you to is koh touch beach. Sok San beach this is the other more remote side of koh rong and the only way to get to this beach is by another boat. There is a boat that leaves koh touch for $5 at 1pm daily or you can take a direct boat for $20 from Sihanoukville. Contact the owner or go to website for details- we had to push our reservation back because we couldn't get there! Once you're there it's absolute paradise though. I highly recommend staying here.

The best stay ever”
I had the best stay in Sok San Beach Bungalows( not to be mistaken with Sok San NEW beach bungalows- way worse) so far on my month and a half SEAsia trip. Julian and his lovely partner where so accommodating and helpful, and the location simply could not be better. If you are an air conditioner, all inclusive customer this might not be the spot for you( there are couple of 200$ night hotels in comparative proximity), but if you like to stay in authentic bungalow with the comfort of a big clean bed and your own bathroom - this is the spot. I really hope I can spend another week or two there.

Cool place on an amazing little island!”
Really nice bungalows on the quiet side of Koh Rong Island, not the backpacker party side. Steps away from a beautiful white sands beach that seems to go on forever. Really helpful and friendly staff, easy to book and check in. Some things you should know: you must take the Sok San Express boat to get there, the other boats only go to the opposite side. It is 30 dollars round trip and rather hard to find the dock in town. Look for the dirt road behind the Holiday Palace Casino and walk till you see a pier that says "no trespassing". That's the one you leave from. Also, be aware that there are ongoing "Survivor" TV shows being filmed on Koh Rong, and the village right next to your bungalow will be making a lot of noise with power tools in the early morning, making sets for the show. Don't let that stop you though, Koh Rong is beautiful and this resort is highly recommended!

Beautiful beach huts right on a secluded beach.”
Sok San Beach Bungalows are a group of bungalows (huts) thrown up by the inhabitants of Sok San village, to cater to the increasing tourist industry on the island. They are basic, made of dried grasses and wood, but have ensuite bathrooms with toilet and shower(don't expect hot water!), mosquito nets above the beds, and padlocks on the door. If you want to really get away from the world for some soul-searching peace and quiet, Sok San is perfect. The beach is 9km long, with another resort area at the other end. You can hire sailing boats from the neighboring resort (which is slightly more upmarket), and the staff there make a fantastic Khmer curry. Cocktails and beer are great there too although expect to pay slightly more than on the mainland. Electricity is only available a couple of hours in the evening, but really all you need it for there is to charge your camera. Turn your phone off while you're there! Would absolutely go back again, the beach is so beautiful, the locals very friendly, the location absolutely unbeatable. The only nuisance is the 40 minute speedboat ride to get there, which can be nauseating- but of course, its's worth it.

Basic but amazing”
We planned to stay only three nights but immediately extended our stay after only one day! The Bungalow is very basic but it's clean and the mosquito nets are intact! PLUS: You step outside to stand right in front of the ocean. There are other bungalows on sok san beach but none of them looked as comfortable as ours and most of them had no beach view. The beach in front of the Bungalow is private which means there are hardly any other people besides your neighbors with whom you have to share beach, view, and water! Will come back :)

In Paradise”
We are 3 friends traveling together and booked a bungalow on Sok San Beach Bungalows for two nights. It was a great choice ! The bungalow is simple but you have everything that you need and to be honest we loved the style. You are directly on the beach with an amazing view. The food is one of the best here on Sok San beach. I absolutely recommend it and would stay again ! Friendly staff, clean.

good value for money on the best beach on koh rong”
The Bungalows are located on Sok San Beach, which is a long beatiful beach with white sand, turquoise water and a couple of places to stay on one side of the beach. the bungalow was a clean basic wooden bungalow right on the beach with a great porch overlooking the ocean. There are a couple restaurants araound which offer good value for about 3-5 dollars a meal, but dont expect any sort of nightlife on this side of the island. definitely recommend this place for 2 nights if youre headed to koh rong and are looking for some beautiful quiet place to chill out!

Very friendly, great location and value for money”
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and as the title and the "best three things" say - the location of the bungalows is unbeatable (beachfront means that you can hear the waves all night long - so you might wanna bring earplugs or something - but that's not a weak spot of the place itself, because that's obvious). And they also have a "2nd/3rd row" of bungalows further back - but be aware that the "neighbor's-toilet-goes-into-the-same-water-as-yours-under-your-bungalow-thing" might come into play here. Also, be aware that some of the bungalows are quite old and most of them are very basic (no real windows with glass - open holes / gaps in the wooden planks, etc. so you will have some animal company inside) - but I got a really good price - so that was absolutely fine for me. And I knew what to expect before - so I can't complain, really. Actually, it was part of the experience and it was fine, really. Also, note that they turn on the power in the morning hours, too, now. And they are renovating stuff all over the place all the time to make the experience better and better. So, I can only say: Go, Sok San New Beach Bungalows! :)

colorful quite paradise on heart”
This place has been a very beautiful surprise for me and my gf. We love it! John, Gary and all the staff were amazing!!! Anything you need in Sok San Beach you ask John he will fix for you. Both him and Gary took good care of our needs. Gary even help me out to fix my Cambodian 3g connection problem and John helped me to book the tuktuk from the pear in Sihanouk ville to the airport. What to say...BRAVO!

Go expecting a rustic beach bungalow”
Lovely rustic beach bungalow situated in a local fishing village. Facilities are limited but that's part of the experience. The power goes out when the solar batteries are drained in the evening, but you're on an island, embrace it :) Getting off the boat to the pier in rough waves isn't easy, so be prepared to take a leap if the sea isn't on your side. The view from the room is great!

Best beach on KR! Hidden gem! Paradise! Amazing! ”
This place is paradise! The bungalows are more like beach shacks so don't go expecting luxury. The electricity doesn't come on until 5pm ish but it all added to the charm of the place tbh. We loved every second and I could have easily done another 2 weeks there. I really can't echoed enough how much we loved this place with all its charm. The owner is super chilled and extremely kind. Thanks so much

Beautiful location, very friendly helpful staff, good food. ”
A great set up with bungalows right on the beachfront. Great location on a stunning beach so good to get away from the crowds and relax. Julian and the team are very helpful and serve up some great good. Couldn't ask for more and I'll be making a return visit when I get the chance.

very noisy ”
The bungalow we got was right in front of a very noisy bar. Impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. Holes in the mosquito nets. Barrel bolt was broken, so we had to sleep in an unlocked bungalow. No sockets to recharge camera/ phones. Too expensive for what we got. Avoid bungalows 1-4, as they are in front of the bar. Friendly Western owner but totally unsympathetic when we asked to be moved. Next door is the new Sok San beach bungalow, cheaper and better!

Basic bungalow on beautiful beach”
Rooms are very basic, you are paying for the beach not the room but pleasant enough. People not accustomed to basic old school bungalows might not be able to stay.

Agoda description totally misleading”
Not what is advertised and not what was expected Having travelled extensively, this is the first time that we have arrived at booked accommodation, which was totally different to what was expected and of a totally unacceptable level. The description on agoda.com is incorrect and misleading. We expected a basic bungalow on a secluded beach in a quiet environment. What we found was a rudimentary bungalow at best ( bark walls with big gaps, palm leaf roof in need of replacement, very basic bathroom without basin and with a permanent puddle in the middle, floors of bungalow and bathroom so dirty that feet are black permanently, no hooks anywhere to hang towels, table and toilet covered in black grime, no windows, no cover sheet and pillows urgently need replacing ), location is not secluded, but set in the village between 2 other bungalow resorts. 1m behind our unit is a Karaoke Bar, which plays extremely loudly until at least 24h00 - starting at 12h00 or 18h00. The restaurant serves very tasty food at reasonable prices, the staff is friendly, but the furniture needs cleaning and upgrading. The location on the beach is great, but due to the village and the other bungalow resorts the cleanliness of the water and beach is being compromised. A 20 minute walk towards Longbeach lets one enjoy the pristine beautiful white beach and turquoise water. The plankton at night is great in the water outside the bungalows. The new owner, Julian, was very friendly and helpful and has plans to upgrade the bungalows. We found new accommodation after 1 night. In its present state I cannot recommend it.

Worst accomodation in Sok San Beach”
Koh Rong island and Sok San beach were amazing but can't say anything good about these bungalows, there was no maintenance at all and even the beach furniture broken by the last raining season were no replaced and were all over the beach. Linen and towells were old and smelly. The place was runned by a guy that could be everything but nice with guests. Definitly I will recommend any other place in that beach, there are many bungalows managed by very nice local people at a best price.

excellent location on the beach”
the bungalows are very very basic, but the location is wonderful. White sandy beach and crystal clear water, and very nice stuff serving the restaurant. Don´t be surprised when being waked up at 5 a.m. by roosters.
