No frills quiet place to stay”
some construction going in the surroundings on workdays, woke me up as windows are very thin. place is simple but clean. in had 2 short power cuts. do not know if that happens more often. staff is friendly yet not so much interaction. place has bo breakfast or any other facilities.location is convenient close to the riverside , yet quiet.

Not as good as it used to be”
I stayed at the Souphaphone a few years ago on several occasions and I thought it was good value. This time I stayed a week and looked forward to leaving. During the evening and mornings the rooms and hallways reeked of stir-fry grease smell from neighbouring restaurants. This wasn't the case a few years ago. The A/C unit in my room stopped working twice during the time I was there. The other thing I didn't like was the poor lighting in the rooms. And having a window in your room is pointless if a wall from the adjacent building is blocking light. Lastly, prices have gone up and I think there are better value hotels elsewhere in the city.

Clean and good place, convenient”
Good value for money. Clean, good bed. Furnitures are getting a bit old and should be changed or refurbished, but still ok. Many restaurants of all kind around.

No breakfast and expensive”
The location is close to the night market and tourist street. There is no breakfast and the price is expensive. Breakfast time does not keep time from 7 o'clock. The cost of accommodation is higher compared to other facilities than nearby facilities.

Worst hostel!!! Not recommended.”
-Completely different from the pictures! -Pricy! Not worth it with such condition! There are a lot more nicer & cheaper hostel nearby! -No lift! Have to carry own luggage up to 4th floor!! Furthermore, the staircase are uneven which lead to knee injury. -Rude staff! Showing attitude out of no way! -Extra charge! Didn’t mention the will be an extra charge when staying with kids! 18USD per kids! Extra charge but did not provide extra bed, even worst refuse to give receipt! -Poor condition! There are a lot of mosquito inside the room, lack of maintenance.

Super place!”
Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a good quality accommodation with friendly, helpful staff. A lot of stairs to climb (may not suit everyone) but we had a super view over a temple & enjoyed monk watching. It was meticulously cleaned every day. Good value for money. Good location for shops & restaurants. Recommended.

Really great little guesthouse. ”
I quite love this guesthouse. The floors are all hardwood, it's in a side-street, so it's a bit quieter than most, the bed is big and comfy, and for those times when I just wanted to relax a bit, they have a TRUE movie channel. The shower is a basic, hot-water shower, but that's all I need. Very happy with this place for the price. Location wise, it's quite conveniently located. It's in a backpacker area so there are coffee shops and funky shops all over the place. Not so much around the hotel -- as it's by the river street, which is more expensive -- but if you walk back away from the river, there are just tons of cool places to chill by day and evening. For actual riverside (or as close as you can get in Vientiane), when you walk to the river road, turn right and just keep walking along the river. From about 0.8K up you'll start to hit bars, and eventually a long line of outdoor restaurants set up. A good place to chill and enjoy the sunset.

My Vientiane Home”
The towels smell like bubblegum! It's a lovely clean place. Well centered between Common Grounds Café and Joma Café. I've stayed there 5 or 6 times over the last ten years.

great guesthouse in perfect location”
Everything was excellent except they don't provide breakfast and there is no jug/tea/coffee in the cheaper rooms. Very quiet and central to eveything. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
