Sydney CBD hotels & places to stay

1) we were able to check in before 2pm as we arrived earlier than expected. the front office staff were extremely friendly and efficient with providing us a cbd map, they would also take the initiative to google a place for us if they were not familiar with it. 2) we were staying on the 6th floor double decker bed, the size of the room would fit the bed and two cupboards for us to store our luggages it. it is recommended to bring your own locks for it. extra linen was provided as well. 3) the shared bathrooms were clean and well-lit. equipped with 2 toilets and 2 showers for users. the security of the bathrooms are good as the key card is required for entering. 4) the kitchen and dining area was very spacious and it is a good place to meet new friends too. we were able to store our products in the refrigerators and use them for making our own meal. 5) the laundry room was fully equipped with coin-operated washers, dryers and iron board. detergent powders can be bought from the front desk if needed. 6) there were 2 nights where we heard other travellers talking extremely loud and shouting during middle of the night. we also had prankster knocking on our door just for the fun of it. but no harm was done and it is tolerable for us. overall, everything was excellent and during our checkout , we were able to stand inside the front desk area to have our photos taken as a staff in 790 on george. we would definitely stay here again for our next trip in sydney

The mattress of the bed is old, but it doesn't matter because it's still comfy and it's clean. The linen were also clean and has no smell. The staff were great and accommodating. I also got some awesome and friendly roommates. Breakfast was coffee/tea, toast, bread and cereals. Worth the money. Location is a 10-15 minute walk from the CBD, the place is quiet, good for backpackers who love quiet places. No aircon but there were ceiling fans.

Room was sunny and unbelieveably clean! Cheap and perfect location! Can't believe we got to stay in Sydney CBD for 25$ each with private bathroom to boot! Will always be our favorite place to stay!

It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t as bad as what others said in their reviews. Maybe they were expecting something like a 5 star hotel in a hostel. One of the cheapest hostels in Sydney and you also get to save on transpo since everything is walking distance. It is regularly cleaned everyday. Facilities great. My favorite are the staff. Special mention to Diego, Angelo, and Bryan!

This is probably one of the best hostels in sydney with a great atmosphere and modern facilities. I have met travellers from all over the world and enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Now the only problem was the fact that many of the guests (including me) were forced to change rooms due to group bookings and other reasons, it made it pretty inconvenient. The other issue was wi fi access - not free and really expensive. One also has to pay for storage lockers when arriving before check in or after check out!

This was an amazing fun hostel to stay at while you're in Sydney if you're looking to meet people and have a good time. They are right next to a good bar so you get discounts and its always something to do at night. They are also in a good location for the metro and not far away from the ferries. I would definitely recommend this hostel if you are looking to stay in CBD Sydney.

Place is close to central station and basically all tourist places in sydney cbd like paddys market, chinatown, st marys cathedral, etc. No alcohol, no noise, no party policy in the hostel so it's quiet and not rowdy like other places. Kitchenware is complete and bathroom is always clean! Towels and toiletries are even provided in the room. Super value for the money.

Great location in Sydney CBD, walking distance to metro (Central Station) and walking distance to many restaurants, shopping and bars/pubs. Rooms were clean and facilities were good as well. Just be aware the kitchen/public area can get very busy and Wifi is only on ground floor. Other than that, great hostel and good value for money. Highly recommend!

The place can get very dirty as day goes - There's no clothes for tenants to wipe the benches after meals even if they want to clean up their messes. Stuffed room even with fan on 24/7 and windows open. One blond receptionist was super kind while one staff member ？receptionist was a bit rough (It was not my fault that I didn't receive a towel on arrival why blamed me for that/and questioning as if I was lying). Pro: Location is great, 2 mins walk to bus and train station.

The people from the reception to housekeeping were all very welcoming. Right next to the central station so traveling in and out of Sydney; not to mention to and from the airport are hassle-free. Will definitely pick this when I return back since I am already planning on a return trip back hopefully by next year.

Location is fantastic, in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Lift is a little slow, but I didn't mind - at least it exists and does work. Personally really enjoyed the capsule life - They're spacious enough to sit up comfortably in, and incredibly well equipped, with a host of charging sockets, light and air circulation controls, ledges for putting your stuff, and a mirror to get ready with as well. Although shower facilities were a tiny bit limited (2 stalls per floor; same for toilets) I didn't encounter a problem where I had to sit around waiting for others to be done, or anything. The lounge is well equipped as well. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, thank you!

Room was great and desk came in handy as well as the clothes rack, lockers even in a private room is good if your conscious about your belongings. Conveniently located a 5 minute walk to Central Station. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Kitchen is a little small but has everything you need to cook your meals, only one washer and one dryer so I’d imagine if it is busy you may have to wait to wash your clothes. With that said the facilities allow you to get the job done. Other than that, this place is cheap and offers great value for your money. This will be our go to place when returning to Sydney, thanks Home.

The location is great with easy access to everything. Guests have access to kitchen and free bread+jam. The room is big and clean. Staff attitude is great. Don't hesitate to book this place for your next stay in Sydney!

Our flight to Sydney was delayed by several hours, leading us to have to do an after-hours check-in. I emailed Casa Central ahead of time to let them know. Once we finally arrived, we followed their instructions 100% and called the emergency number listed by the door -- went straight to voicemail. We left several messages and waited and waited and waited. It wasn't until one of the other guests came down for a smoke break that we were able to get in. Apparently, the on duty staff was too busy watching a movie and didn't bother to be "on duty". WTF?!? What's the use of an emergency phone number if no one of paying attention??? Waiting in the cold outside the door for 20 minutes waiting to get in after delayed travel just sucks. Thanks.

Clean rooms in the Sydney CBD with rather low price. Quiet rooms on higher floor can be requested. But there is no bathroom inside the room and the breakfast provided is too simple and have few options. Also, no free wifi in the hotel, no matter in room or in the lobby. Yet, it is rather a good choice for budget accommodation.

Located in Sydney CBD, close to town hall. I didn't catch any public transport except going to the airport because everything is close by (you may need to use public transport if you don't like walking long distance). I walked to Potts Point from the hotel and it took me about half hour. But I really enjoyed it. Hotel itself is good, reasonable price and very clean. I'm definitely coming back.

CBD hotel was perfect for us. The room was a little bit smallish tify and clean, very good value for the money, so close to all the activities we wanted to do on our long weekend around Sydney CBD ,the staff were friendly and attended to all our request promptly. The only negative was we couldn't extend our stay for half a day as our flight was in the evening at 8:00 they wanted to charge full price for the room for 6 hours of use,but all around very satisfied with our stay at this hotel.

I like the location as easier access to all landmark in CBD by walking. Hotel just next to Central Railway Station (next to Mercure Hotel), opposite of Hotel is University of Technology Sydney. Darling Harbour, Paddy market n Chinatown is just only 5-10 mins walk. City Link by Tram to Fish market and others, Bondi Beach by Train just next to this hotel via Central Railway Station. Room is big equipped with King size bed, dining table and comfortable even is shared bathroom but no have any problem during stay (never Q to take shower).

minimum amenity being a small pub with accommodation but i loved that it was just that. the rooms were singles, no aircon, and shared bathrooms but even so i was more comfortable than when i have stayed in 4-5 star hotels in sydney. i thought i was going to have trouble sleeping because a nearby cafe was pumping tunes into the night but the bed was so comfortable i was asleep in no time. i thought i might be inconvenienced with having to share bathroom facilities, but every time i used the facilities, they were available and very clean. very basic brekky is provided in the brekky room, ie. cereals, toast facilities, etc. and appeared to be available 24/7/

Hotel is 100 meters from Wynyard train station and walking distance from most things you would like to see in Sydney CBD, Rocks area and Sydney Opera House. Car parking is 40$ a day. Bathrooms are small but have been renovated recently. Standard and executive rooms are the same but executive rooms are on higher floors and a bit more quiet from street noise. 500MB free WiFi per day. I would rate this hotel 3+ star. We enjoyed our stay and had no problems. Good for short stay in Sydney for shopping and see the sights.

This hotel is very close to the Central station and that si what sets it apart from other hotels. You can easily travel anywhere from this hotel. There are many restaurants nearby including the spice market allley and Paddy’s market. Chinatown is a few blocks further. The staff was very helpful with every request and also in helping us explore Sydney. All in all I will stay here again if I come back to Sydney and I will tell my friends about this hotel

when we arrived, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and the registration is very fast. although the room is quite small, we don't mind because it is clean and tidy. the service is also very good, the cleaner comes every day and make up our room nicely. the position of this hotel is very close to the city centre and by just walking for a few you can catch a free tourist bus that runs along the elizabeth street around sydney cbd. only downside is that we got room with view to another building on the back of the hotel and some narrow streets which are not very good to look at.

The hotel is conveniently located in Sydney CBD, within walking distance of Wynyard train station which is part of the Airport Link network. This means you can travel directly from the Airport train to Wynyard train station to reach the hotel. Wynyard train station also had some fast food options, such as Maccas and Hungry Jacks, as well as Asian noodles. My room was clean, with windows, equipped with a mini fridge, sliding door wardrobe with clotheshangers, a single seater sofa, square shaped wooden writing table, hair dryer, tolietries. There was also a communal kitchen with stovetop cooking, microwave oven, fridge, sink and also an ironing board with iron provided. Staff was pleasant and polite. However, the hotel has no lift and need to lug your heavy luggage up the stairs. 24 hours City Convenience store located next t hotel, but prices were a little too high for me. Overall, value for money and one of the cheapest hotels in Sydney CBD area. Would definitely stay here again. Free wifi was also provided.

I enjoyed the stay at Park Regis City Centre. It is centrally located in Sydney CBD area, just 10 minutes walk or less to Pitt Street Mall and Sydney Tower which one of the attractions in Sydney. Staffs were very friendly as well. I asked the manager for an early check - in since I had 2 young children traveling with me and he did whatever he could to get us at least one room for the children to rest. Great help. Also next to the hotel is the Coffee Club Coffeshop and 2 minutes walk you can find a Starbucks coffee. within 5 minutes walk you can find some local bars/cafes as well as some fast food restaurants.

A great location for Sydney CBD. The hotel room was comfortable and quiet enough for a good nights sleep. Upon closer inspection the bathroom and toilet area was not as clean as expected and required some maintenance, but overall I would return. Carparking is an issue in Sydney CBD, be prepared to pay $30.00 a day to use the hotel carpark.

We stayed 10 days. But we could not use the internet. Many times we called to service center. They could not decide this problem. It was terrible. We could not live without any connection in this century.

The staff are super helpful. They gave good guide on how to travel around Sydney CBD area. The room we got was hugh. We got the groundfloor level room, could see passbyer shadows at times, otherwise its safe. Its located near Wynard station, where there is a direct line to the international airport, what convenient! Behind is where Darling harbour and The Rock is (5mins walk) just round the corner, you can book a whalewatching daytour there at Darling Harbour . Despite the apartment is built under a highway bridge, there is little or no noise from the traffic. Excellent

Last time we'd visited Sydney we had regularly visited Harry's Bar - there is a great atmosphere, it's always busy, with good music (in my opinion). At the weekend there is also a good club upstairs. We drank and ate there on Tuesday night - menu is small, but tasty, and bar closes late. Harry's hotel has a retro feel to it, we chose a room with two double beds, deco was nice, although not much light in the room. No breakfast in the hotel, but several nice coffee shops nearby. We had a problem with the sink not emptying properly, staff were very helpful to try and sort it out (late on a Tuesday night). We were on the 3rd floor, no issues with noise, although on the 2nd floor at the weekend rooms might be more noisy! Location is an 8 minute walk from Museum station (which is 1/2 hr from Sydney airport). Would definitely stay there again.

1 bedroom with full kitchen and balcony. Free wifi. Sofa covers to pullout. Only issue is stairs to lobby. Kingsley Steakhouse nextdoor.
