Very clean and super value for money”
Am very pleased with the hygeine of the room and space as well for the money paid for the few nights we were in Shinjuku. Would not say the location is super good since this is the budget we were able to afford but was definitely a pleasant walk.
-Hotel is newly renovated. Room was generally clean except that I found a small cockroach scuttling across the table when I first entered, and there was hair on the pillow & bedsheet. It was nonetheless a comfortable stay and the bathrobes are nice. Note that room height is low which may not provide a comfortable shower experience if you are above 175cm. -Distance from Shinjuku - far from stations (15-20 mins walk) -Reception staff: they employ a mix of japanese and caucasian. The latter had very good customer service and are always helpful, but one japanese staff (bald male) was aloof and seemingly irritated when we asked him to help with restaurant booking. -The bakery was amazing!
Centra (if quiet) location and very funky hotel”
Hotel was very clean. West shinjuku is a lot quieter than east shinjuku or Shibuya but if you’re looking for this area it’s a great choice. 10am check out is punchy and it’s a shame that they close the breakfast at 10 as everyone lured out looking for somewhere for food. Some very cool chill out communal areas and the grill bar is incredible.
Easy simple check in & out”
Really good spot for jogging/running around the park in Tokyo, but little bit far from the station in case u have bring big/heavy luggages. Easy simple check in & out. We spent 1 + 3 nights at this hotel (kept our luggages for 4 days before we came back again). The first night we stayed , the room was so small and too warm, so we had to open a window to get more fresh air. For the next 3 nights, the staff was so helpfull by give us a room tour, to pick up bigger one. The bakery at the lobby was so delicious
Nice and modern hotel”
Situated near the Tokyo Metro Government building. There are several restaurants and convenience stores such as Lawson, 7-11, and Family Mart. Promoting modern concept, you can self-check-in and check-out and choose two different kinds of key access, by card or by PIN. The room is quite small but clean and provide complete amenities. It is a simple and effective room.
rude staff, noisy lobby and paper thin walls I could hear the guest on the other room snoring! ”
Hipster tentative kind of hotel, bad location, have to walk at least 10-15 min for any station and the close sooner. Area has nothing open during the night. Staff is rude, rooms not cleaned, noisy hotel you can hear the guest from the other room snoring
The Knot is a fun hotel.”
It took about 15 minutes to walk from Shinjuku station to the hotel. It is a lively lobby with tables for people to congregate and a bar. The breakfast buffet had many options for all diets and was worth it. The bakery onsite is amazing and you can get sandwiches to take away. Rooms were small but comfortable. We would stay there again.
Location not bad close to metro and many foreigners staying there. Seems like not in Japan.
Everything is good except the location ”
Nice hotel with good energy. Good use of space and very clear. This is on the west side of Shinjuku Station and it is around 15 min walk. There is nothing around the hotel to eat or do.
Very New and Modern Hotel!”
The hotel is located a minutes walk from a train station which is quite convenient to travelers with children and lots of luggages. The room is quite spacious and very clean. The breakfast is excellent with lots of dishes, both western and japanese.
Costly and Inflexibility (Unpleasant Stay) ”
We were there for a honeymoon and went with a 8days stay with The Knot. Bathroom is not equipped with full amenities. No cotton pads, no comb, no handsoap. The customer service is rather fierce and inflexible whenever we needed help. Hospitality industry yet not hospitable. Japan is well known for strict check out time. Any extention hour is chargeable at a cost. Pricey stay per night yet it comes with average standards. We will not be able to choose to stay here in future.
Check out time at 10am is annoying. The hotel is stylish but basic, the staff are not the strongest English speakers, and there aren't any facilities to speak of. It's a good and perfectly functional hotel choice, just be ready to be impressed by the stylishness of it all, and nothing else
Small room but nice location”
The Knot is located in a convenient area of Tokyo, the Shinjuku. It is walking distance to the Shinjuku train station and the Shibuya shopping area. The staff was very helpful and polite and most spoke English. The room was clean but very small. The price was moderate compared to other hotels in the area. I would say it was a value conscious hotel.
To recommend this property? It's in between a Yes & No.”
The hotel is tucked at a cosy quiet corner, quite safe to walk around even past midnight. There's a family mart 2 blocks away and a small 24hrs supermarket abt 8mins walk. Things which attracted me n my friends to stay here couple of times are: (1) there's a nice park in front (2) the bakery at the lobby sell nice n fresh breads. However, we have decided to explore elsewhere after my recent trip because one of the staff were quite rude to my Japan friend who helped me to enquire on a lost parcel. It left a very unpleasant note at the end of my stay. Overall, the staffs were quite friendly and helpful and there's not much problem communicating. Hotel is near a subway (abt 5-7mins walk), but it's 1 stop to shinjuku main station and it's quite deep, so, it might not b the best choice if you don't like to walk n climb stairs. The airport limousine is at Keio Plaza Hotel, which is about 8-10mins walk, hence might also not a good choice if you have to manage a few big luggages.
Clean and quite”
It's clean and quite at night. Just during the day, you can hear people outside in the lobby but during night it's silent A bit far from Shinjuku area, took us 25min to get here, confusing at first but easy after you find it
Big Rooms for Small Price. 450 meters to the A5 Gate of Tochomae”
Here are my personal take on each category Rooms- 10/10 - Big Spacious room , Downside is they dont have a cabinet to store your things which is why the room looks bigger. CR is clean and nice. Kudos to the house keeping for making up the messy room every time we leave . Front Desk - 7/10 - You dont need them . They will just point you to the machines for self check in. Thank Allah for the Innovation Location - If you have big luggage. you have to walk AROUND from the A5 gate of tochomae station. to the hotel. The tocho Mae A5 exit closes at 10PM. If you dont have any luggages. you can walk straight into the park and to the hotel. the park is elevated. So its good excercise Price - Best price for big rooms in my opinion. Main station near it is Shinjuku station. Also as of March 2019 - There is no more free shuttle like what the other reviews mentioned Will I Stay in it again? Probably. But If I find a better a hotel. might as well try a new one
Great stay during the Tokyo Marathon!”
Close to the start (approx. 300 m), Shinjuku Station, and a lot of other sights within walking distance. The rooms are small like everywhere in Tokyo, but super clean, quiet and comfortable. Awesome breakfast, or the choice to grab something very delicious in the bakery located in the hotel. The restaurant is not the cheapest but offers really good food and friendly staff. Enjoyed the the stay very much.
Tokyo Marathon ”
It is a good location if you want to be really close to the starting point of Tokyo marathon. Was there during 2019. The hotel price is very very inflated during race period. However in the 2019 race only certain gates were easily accessed while others can be a good morning walk warm up. If you can afford a bit more I rather you stay at the close 5 star hotels nearby. The hotel doesn’t extend kitchen hours or accommodate to the race goers like other hotels I’ve experienced. Race goers should arrive back at the hotel just after 1:30 -2pm but kitchen will be closed by 2pm so don’t expect lunch when you return. There are no bananas or anything in the room Nor are race participants treated any differently. So prepare something if you really want to stay there. It’s not a race friendly hotel even though they charge real premium during race days. There is a great bakery at the hotel lobby which I think is the only saving grace for food and a convenience store close by.
Great Lunch buffet but would be nice if we could have had a take away option to eat in our room when my wife did not feel well enough to come down. At the restaurant they said they could not prepare food for take away. Thanks
Great stay at The Knot”
Loving the new renovations. Can tell that the hotel is really picking up! Location is handy near Shinjuku restaurants and the underground station is only a few minutes walk away. Would highly reccomend and look forward to staying here again.
