Stunning Urban Escape”

The Sukhothai is probably one of the most beautiful hotels in Bangkok. Although pricey, the experience is worth it. The hotel's stunning traditional Thai art, Buddha statues, beautiful gardens and lotus ponds create an oasis of tranquility that offer respite from one of the most bustling cities in Asia. Although the main road (South Sathorn) leading to the hotel is infamous for its traffic, there is a train station a short walk from the hotel entrance. Anyway, once in the luxurious and comfortable rooms, you may not want to leave (especially the Executive Suite). The pool is large with no lack of sun lounges. There is a tennis court with a coach for hire. Food at the hotel is of high quality. The famous chocolate buffet is a must for chocoholics and one of the best restaurants in Bangkok, Celadon, is an epicurean's delight. Overall, service at the hotel is impeccable, understated, efficient and warm. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special.

Great Concierge Service ”

I stayed again at my favorite hotel in Bangkok - The Sukhothai Hotel along Sathorn Road . In my 20 years of visiting Bangkok , Sukhothai's concierge duo of Khun Toom and Khun Kook have provided the best concierge service I have ever experienced. On this recent trip, I had asked for an empty box, to pack items I had purchased and samples from my suppliers. Not only did Khun Toom find me the suitable box for my goods , he also also completed th packing, sealing and even placed the appropriate belting around the box for easy carrying and check in!! Thank you very much again to Sukhothai's dynamic duo and the whole concierge team of this wonderful hotel .

Alway Great”

I've reviewed The Sukhothai Bangkok a number of times for Agoda. We go here every year, to begin, and finish off our trips throughout Southeast Asia. It really does feel like coming home. They finally finished the Gym and pool area, which is as professional as any Gym I've ever used. The pool area is fantastic, as well. My only wish was, that they had a separate area for children, whose parents, don't seem all that interested in parenting. I don't mind children, but I do mind screaming misbehaved ones. Other then that - great work. I can't say enough about the concierge service with Toomb; he's always helpful, and answers my every question with ease. I appreciate the professionalism of all the staff, including the dining room, reception, etc. We usually book a Superior Room on the 4th floor - which is big, has a great, comfortable bed, and large clean bathroom. We will be back - thank you so much for your dedication to making your guests comfortable, and at home.

Perfect stay at perfect hotel”

Staffperformance and attitude, Breakfastbuffet, facilities

We had a shortstay at sukhothai bangkok, and we were very pleased with it. The cleanness of the room, the facilities (tennis, squash, swimming, garden..)are outstanding in a city like bangkok. Allthough the chlorofine in the swimmingpool was somewhat strong for the eyes. This hotel, in contrary to many socalled 5-star-hotels in thailand, really has a high standard in every detail. starting with the pepper and salt set, the cutlery, the service, over to the furniture, the roomfacilities, the language-abilitites of the staff, everything had an outstanding quality. We had a very pleasant stay and we would for sure at occasion return to this wonderfull place.

Tranquility in Bangkok”

Staff, Food, Rooms

Our First Time at the Sukhothai for a quick one night stop before flying home. The place was superb in every way! On arrival we we're greeted with friendly staff welcoming us. Treated very professionally and checking us in. The rooms are something to behold large with everything you could want. We spent the day by the lovely pool where again the staff look after you with anything you need. The Food is excellent and to a very high standard. The Sukhothai sits next to the massive Banyan Tree Hotel which is more expensive but by far means no better then the Sukhothai. I can totally recommend this Hotel 100%!!! You never feel at any point you are in the crazy madness of busy Bangkok. Wonderful and will return.

Excellent Stay in Bangkok Ever”

Upon arrival to The Sukhothai, it was like an exclusive oasis in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok. The architecture of the late Kerry Hill never disappoints to charm you with the simplicity of the layout and the emphasis on the ancient Sukhothai's element, of peace and tranquility. The check-in was dealt professional and patiently, with much attention and care. The staff, Ms Gift, took notice of my nearing birth date during registration and arranged for a birthday cake on the last night stay. The room we got was the most basic but yet the services rendered was of the most exclusive suite accommodation standard. The daily fruits replacement, making the bed in the day upon finishing our breakfast and prep the bed in the evening. The breakfast was refined and exquisite. The facilities are excellent and they are constantly upgrading. Hope to be back again and enjoy the Sukhothai impeccable hospitality and professionalism throughout our stay. Kudos! I'll definitely come back again.

My Favorite Hotel in the World”

Rooms, service, restaurant

my second stay at the sukhothai hotel has confirmed that my opinion as it being one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at after a life of extensive traveling. the executive deluxe room is the size of three standard rooms, beautifully appointed with an astounding attention to detail. from an excellent coffee machine to the box of every phone and computer connection imaginable to the bathroom which is like a small apartment in and of itself. fresh tropical fruit and chocolate truffles served everyday. the staff went consistently beyond the line of duty to make our visit as pleasant as possible. i was greeted by name from day one by all of the staff. one evening we were having trouble locating a restaurant. the concierge spent over twenty minutes doing everything possible to find this out of the way place. he finished by finding the cell phone of the owner but before that he had thoroughly searched the internet, and even called another hotel in the restaurant's neighborhood to find out if they knew the exact address. the hotel limousine to and from the airport is well worth the money. uniformed chauffeur, cold towels, water, candy and wifi in the car (fabulous mercedes) the breakfast buffet is amazing and delicious. everything that anyone could possible desire for breakfast is there an more. the celadon restaurant in widely considered one of the best thai restaurants in bangkok and deservedly so. if you want to taste the classic thai dishes done to perfection this is the place. i cannot say enough good about this hotel. my favorite in the world.

Dream come true”

We wanted a good Sukhothai experience and indulged in a Deluxe Suite for 5 nights. I have stayed in Bangkok several times, each time at great hotels and I know that the Thai standard for hospitality is incredibly high. The experience at the Sukhothai became the new benchmark and I was relived that I hadn't built up my expectations too much. The staff were exceptional and always obliging. The meals there are the best I've ever had. Breakfasts became a challenge to not over indulge. After 5 days, we still didn't try everything there was to offer. The Sunday Brunch is an absolute must. The negatives - The gym was being renovated and the temporary gym is incredibly basic. The location is close but too far to walk anywhere. There is no BTS nearby but there is a MRT closeby.

When we met staffs anywhere in the hotel they always smile and say hello (aka sawaadeekha). Since our arrival at the Sukhothai, everything was perfect except the breakfast food. I love love love the Sukhothai front he design, to the service and the facilities. As a hotel designer I travel a lot and this is definitely one, if not the best hotel in the world. It is the perfect escape from the hectic surroundings of downtown Bangkok. These days the rooms rates are incredible which makes this the bets deal you can find in the city. Beautiful room, amazing staff, wonderful amenities

We absolutely loved our 4-night stay at the Sukhothai Hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was very spacious and provided luxury with a Thai-inspired decor. The pool and gym were both excellent. There is even a gym attendant who caters to your needs and helps you with the equipment. We enjoyed dining at the restaurant several times and the food was outstanding. The buffet breakfast is also delicious. If you're looking for a luxury hotel experience in Bangkok, I highly recommend Sukhothai!

My favorite hotel in Bangkok”

Thai style, great atmosphere, quietness

I've stayed more then 10 times in Sukhothai. So far it's my favorite hotel in Bangkok. It has great atmosphere, you feel like you are in Thailand. It's not a typical business hotel and that's another reason I really like it. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the food is good. There some of the best restaurants around. And it's extremely good located if you are using taxis. There are very few traffic jams in this area compared to other parts of Bangkok. So it's easy to get to/from the airport. Public transport is not so close though. And another major point - gardens and quietness of the hotel despite its central location. Just great!

From Someone Who Stayed at Many Hotels in Thailand”

Staff Food Facilities

My 2-day stay was flawless except at the onset the bell man took my bags to the room without asking me (they do this in Thailand and I had to explain to them they should always ask so customers know where there bags are). Aside from the basic deficiencies seen in all hotels in Thailand, my stay at the Sukhothai was excellent. The staff speaks great English, they are very helpful and competent. The location is not so good if you are a tourist as the BTS is far away and the subway is 10 min walk, as well, there is nothing around to view other than commercial buildings but it is a great location to get away from all of the crap that comes with tourist areas. The location is a plus if you want to get away from the center city Sukhumvit crowds. And it is a great location if you are on business. I will definitely stay here when I return to Bangkok for the very least to have a problem-free stay in a very nice hotel.

Amazing luxury in heart of Bangkok”

Everything - service, decor, facilities

we arrived hot and sweaty from a long journey to bangkok and fitting in chatuchak market - we had booked what we thought was a luxury hotel (mentioning no names, anyone seen the hangover ii?)... it definitely wasn't for us, so after a bit of agonising we decided not to ruin the rest of our stay, took the plunge and booked the sukhothai - what a great move. everything about the hotel screams high quality and i don't think i've ever stayed anywhere with service as efficient and friendly as this. it does feel like an extremely plush business hotel at times, but we like that feel so it was absolutely perfect for us. the restaurants, whilst not cheap, are also of very high quality. can't recommend this place enough.

Our room was beautiful and the pool area is gorgeous.

We stayed at Sukhothai for three nights in a deluxe studio and we had an amazing time. Our room was large with a nice view of the pool area and we had a massive bathroom as well as a full-service business desk. We also had a fruit basket and chocolate truffles delivered to our room each day. The buffet breakfast each morning was fantastic; everything you could imagine and all of the food was of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were helpful and polite throughout of our stay. The facilities were also brilliant; a gorgeous pool area, a large health club, tennis court, squash court, jacuzzi, sauna and steamrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sukhothai and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

An oasis of luxury and peace in a congested city”

The ambience and size of room, the quality of equipment and knowledge/assistance of staff in the gym and being surrounded by the tranquil grounds in which the hotel is situated.

It was an absolute delight to stay here and enjoy the experience at the special Agoda rate. The room was superb and spacious, especially the bathroom, the gym is well equipped, supported by staff who really help, La Scala restaurant serves excellent food, supplied by people who know what they are doing, the breakfast is packed with choice and quality, the concierge staff were all friendly and spoke good English with humour. The situation of the hotel in amongst gardens provides a real escape from the congestion and frantic nature of Bangkok, particularly the very nearby Sathorn Road. I had only one quibble, which I have reported to the staff. This relates to the sparsity of sockets in the room to cope with today's gadgets. It is but a very small factor that in no way detracts from the overall wonderful experience which will stay with me for a long while.

centrally located, beautiful hotel with fabulous design, professionally supportive services and staffs

The hotel is as good as it is well known, with Thai traditional style, beautiful design, and very friendly and supportive services. The only imperfect experience staying in the hotel is, our regrets really, we did not have enough time to stay in the Bangkok and the hotel to enjoy any of the restaurant or spa service in the hotel, which are very worth trying as recommended. Quiet, resort like hotel in a buzzing city”

staff, food and atmosphere

The Sukhothai is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. Once inside the hotel, you can forget the noise and rush that is Bangkok. The atmosphere is quiet, almost tranquil. The staff is attentive and friendly. I am sure that it takes more than training to achieve such staff qualities. The breakfast is definitely the best that I have ever seen in my 40 years of business travel internationally. The maintenance of the wood paneled rooms is still good, but I had problem with dropping old-fashion incandescent light bulbs.
