over priced room.”
We paid..we checked in..the minute we saw the room with the aged air con(i think it was from 1980's air con)..the bathroom was in bad condition..the fan swinging slow eventhou u turned it to he highest.. Instantly we left without staying there and booked at PAYA beach resort..
Cheap, clean comfortable beach cabins. ”
The accommodation was basic but very comfortable and good value for money. The rooms were well maintained and clean. Staff at the resort were very friendly and went out of their way to help. Easy access to the beach.
A fantastic week-end break-away”
we had a pleasant stay there. 5 minutes walk to the beach, included set breakfast, room was a bit small, but most of the time we were out....so did not matter. Dinner was customized for us, that is, could choose the fish/ spices/ how they cook.....according to our choice and availability of materials. very peaceful and leisurely atmosphere. spent a lovely weekend.Oh yes, they also arranged package trips for snorkeling (may be diving)at reasonable rates.
Calm, peaceful place to relax.”
It was a short walk from the beach. Consider this a blessing as those hotels near the beach are very crowded. Don't expect modern facilities but basic neccesities like air-con and hot water are available. This area is well know for it beaches and diving spots. Great place to stay away from the city and re-gain your sanity.
Peaceful and relaxing”
When you step into the hotel area, you can feel as though you were in a kampung area, very peaceful. The hotel is just 10mins away from the jetty and 5 mins away from the nearest snorkeling area which makes it very attractive.
very relaxable and friendly, resort”
very good location. near beach. and owner chinese granpa and granma were very friendly from ferry station to resort, they provide carrying luggage service. beer was very cheap. they have convinience shop. so i and my friend bought snacks and beers. drink happily. Wi-fi available only bar and restaurant. snorkeling also available. very cheap rates rent fee. near resort. there is good place to snorkeling. i saw fantastic undersea view. near the resort. many shops and good luxury resort. if you want have good dining. you also can go luxury resort buffet i satisfied this accommodation.
Older run down style, but staff very helpful”
It is a bit of a walk from the ferry terminal, across a rickety wooden bridge and is actually behind the Paya Beach Resort, not on the beach. The resort is in need of an upgrade. The 'deluxe' chalet was very older style. Old TV, but the only English speaking channel had no sound. Beds were old, but Turned out to be reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was very small but shower pressure and heat good, a hair dryer was also provided. The chalet is a good size and reasonably clean, although there was some mould on the shower curtain. The setting of the resort itself is quite nice, units are well spaced in a garden setting. We did have some views to the ocean from our unit, and there is a second much quicker path to access the beach than the one you come in on. There is a very nice open air restaurant and bar, duty free prices, but restaurant menu limited. Breakfast was an interesting mix of an egg, chips, toast and jam. There are a lot of staff, all very helpful, but limited English.
Friendly family style hotel”
Overall its good but no pool , few mins walk to beach and ferry terminal , good for traveller who likes walking .Food is not so good , basically you will have to walk to the jetty area for good food.Hotel room need to be improved by providing a good foot mat at the entrance of room , so sandy after beach walk
Good hotel to crash for the night”
since it was 2 days, most of the time we were spending outside. i feel the ppl in the reception could be a little more friendly and polite and not look at u as a money machine. other staff were very good. nice stay and worth the money spent.
Quite resort at one of the best place to chill out”
its one of the nice place i ever stayed next to the beach. the resort is very quite in the nature where it lies. the staffs are really friendly. the rooms are huge spacious. it was quite clean and the beds were kept in good condition. the toilets were well maintained.the food was good too. to relax and chill out this will be a good place.
The resort is located inland surrounded by mangrove and forest, away from the beach. But it is only a short walk away from the beach and the transition through the mangrove was really nice everytime. Very quiet and relaxing place, unlike the Paya Beach Resort which seems a little too commercialised. Owners are a chinese couple which are nice and friendly, very flexible in arragement. The rooms are big, enough for 4 person and great for groups of friends. The rooms however are not completely sealed and insects can get in, got quite many bites from mosqitios on the first night so got a mosqito coil for the second night. The air-con is also too slow to cool the room in the afternoon. The toilet although small but kept quite clean. Food and drinks are cheap and good. Overall the resort was a nice experience.
Very calm and spacious..”
Very nice place to stay...spacious room..Staffs were friendly. And the food also cheap comparably...Location was excellent for relaxation....even though not nearby sea...
Please do not be deceived by the pictures”
There is no reception place, only an abandoned restaurant that had one staff waited for us (Its raining and you just gone through the worst ferry ride ever becuase of the storm and imagine gloomy and dark restaurant that no one use for years and there's this one human calling you from there while you confusingly tries to find lobby of the so-called resort) and hesitantly shouting at us and asked if we have booking with them.(shock the **** out me) We said yes and he immediately signalled to us to follow him. He went to get key from this village lady while I can hear her grumpily said to him that she thought he already take the key yesterday. He then proceed to bring us to our room and left just like that. Cue 5 minutes and he came knocking at the door. Asking us to reconfirm again if we did the booking because he said we came 2 persons and in our booking we put 1 person. We said yes and he said because we are 2 persons, we are in violation of the booking term because for 2 person the price of the room will be different and he asked us to pay RM45 if we want another breakfast (mind you, the room is really really basic that looks like nobody stays there for months and don't get me started on the bathroom and the dirty water that come out from it. We even brush our teeth with mineral water that we brought ourself) We said we are ok with only one breakfast and we mention that in the Agoda booking it didn't says anything about the price is only for one person to stay (from my understanding Agoda is selling per room not per person, this is not hostel). After 10 minutes of arguing with him calling his so called boss (this lady was really rude and saying if we called KL they will definitely asked us to pay extra), they "generously" relented and let us stay at the chalet. Thank god we only stayed for one day. The chalet is really at the back of Paya and it takes us 5 minutes to get to the sea. So thank you for the hospitality and may we never come back here ever again (
Worst hospitality and service”
We went there looking for the resort and it appears to have closed down. We had to ask around on where to stay for the night and found out that the name of the resort was changed. There was no reception for the resort . The staff has also charged extra for the room despite the room already had 3 beds (his reasoning was we only booked for 2 pax). Room only has one power plug. Inconvenient as there were 3 of us. For the price paid for the room, it is totally not worthy and if we had other choices, we will never ever return to this resort again.
worst place ever at tioman..dont go here..lack facilities, bad services, dirty, and cheating staff”
the worst place, this hotel real name is eagle resort not tioman paya resort..so far from beach, dirty and worst restaurant!!..far from everything..u better stay at kg salang or kg tekek..nothing here..no atm..this hotel room like ghost house, alot sea bug and mosquitos.. seriously bad service!! night mare ever!!
They changed the management and the new management is difference owner. Please update their new profile. I was having difficulties last week due to this when the new owner claimed they never received any booking from Agoda.
Poor Facilities and room condition”
First, the room is not as good as it looks on the web. the room is pretty rundown. The service was poor. we were told the breakfast is available between 8am to 10am. But we were told to come back after 8.30am when we approach the staff for breakfast at 8am sharp. The worst, the room is fill of mosquitoes. When we approach the staff for mosquito coils, they told us "Living in Jungle is like that, not surprise to see mosquito here". All in all, bad experience. I will never visit this hotel again.
Terrible bad hotel, bad food, bad Airconditional”
Very disappointed with Tioman Paya Resort's service. Room air conditional was very bad, make us suffer especially afternoon time, day time room very hot, night time air conditional only feel better. Food also very bad and expansive, not value for money. Their staff try to cheat us, he told us their fish about 500 gram cost RM42, but actual after cooking the fish can say very small expected only 250 gram. After complain he ignore use, very disappointed Holiday Trip with Tioman Paya Resort!!!
Simple but sufficient accomodation. Value for money is unsatisfied but for Tioman Island quite okay. The resort area was simple and a bit loveless arranged behind the Paya Beach. Nice receptionists and good malaysian breakfast. We would recommend the other Resort which at the beachside and looks much nicer than the Paya Resort and offers more typical hotel services (restaurant, all-inclusive-buffet, WIFI and pc-rooms...)
Not likely to come back unless I have no choice”
Receptionist (lady boss I guess) provides minimum service n smile. Water heater runs on solar, which means only one person gets to shower with hot water n the other cold, cos the water tank must be very small. Wifi only in the restaurant. Food takes forever. Had to cancel one meal and almost missed the ferry cos the waiter forgot our order. Pathway to the dive centre via a bridge is filled with puddles of water.
