      Awesome place for retreat”

I’m a Buddhist meditation teacher who lives in Bali and went for personal retreat for a few days. Ok sure if you want uber luxury and are happy to pay $500 a night go to Amandari. But at these prices, this place is an incredible gem. Not to mention it is RIGHT next to the river, temple, and was the home of painter Walter Spies, the original western artist to come to Bali....so the place is FULL of magic. The food is just fine and very cheap...go for their Indonesian food and don’t expect Parisian cuisine...honestly for the price its totally awesome. 🙏

Great location but not many choice of breakfast for vegetarian.”

The location is perfect not far from Ubud palace, I choose this hotel because of its oldest and has nice view. Only complaint is the breakfast not many variety, no vegan option so we end up having breakfast outside the hotel.

      Authentic and beautiful hotel”

this hotel is BEAUTIFUL - an old property, not a big new resort: you are in Ubud, yet immersed in the middle of the jungle, the garden is carved with traditional Balinese sculptures. a truly amazing amazing place. It's my second time there, I went first 16 years ago and had kept this amazing memory, which was confirmed once again. however: be warned, it got a little old (the rooms are ok but the bathrooms look old), the spa is worth having a look at (YES! it's sculpted in the rock) yet the massage was... awful. Despite that, I would still warmly recommend to go there if you want to experience the culture and beautiful nature of inland Bali.

      Great Hotel and Service”

Excellent staff service mostly. Good food in restaurant. Amazing spa! Bathroom could do with an upgrade. No glasses in room and told to get our own from bar. A lot of stairs to room (all good if ok fitness) outsiders of hotel in spa springs a bit loud and taking away the romance. Room service breakfast ice cold

      Excellent”

Our room was not ready when we arrived but we walked around the town and found a cool restaurant and made an appt for a massage so it was fine. The lactation is amazing lush forest. The spa grotto is totally cool with hot tub and sauna/steam bath but we went elsewhere for a cheaper massage. The breakfast buffet was good but needed the fans to be on higher... I sweat the whole meal.

Great Lanscape next to the river”

Good choice if you are looking for hotel with natural surrounding. The lanscape is great but the building and facilitiea are a bit old. Not recommended if you dont want to go trough hundreds stairs from looby to the room and vice versa. But I think they also have some rooms in the upper area of the property but you will miss the great view and the sound of the river water flowing in the valley. The variety of food for breakfast is limited and some food is too salty. But overall it was a nice stay.

Absolutely loved this place would recommend!”

This hotel is absolutely fabulous. A true Balinese experience that we'll not forget. Located not far from central Ubud it's easy to walk into the main area. The setting is stunning. Lots of authentic rooms packed full of all you could need. The spa is stunning! Definitely worth a visit. Wasn't a huge choice at breakfast although we did arrive quite late. Fantastic value for money and I'd 100% come back again. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Thanks for making our trip so amazing! :-)

      Tjampuhan Hotel and Spa?”

This hotel was in a perfect location. You’re in walking distance to downtown Ubud and a 5-10 minute drive to lots of other activities. It’s absolutely beautiful. The rooms do have bugs as you are in a jungle pretty much, but other then that this is a great stay, oh and the breakfast is delicious!!!

      Great Balinese gateway”

It was a Precious Balinese experience with good view from our room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They keep us feel comfortable. They welcomed us with cool wet towel and welcome drink. Everything was good except for cleanliness. The washroom need to be brush as the dirt at wall is obvious. The floor need to be swipe in the room. Overall, we enjoy being here. They give us honeymoon gift when we checking out. Will recommend to other who love the nature environment.

Room was very old and stinky. Everything else were amazing”

The location of the hotel is very convenient in the core of Ubud. The territory of the hotel is very huge and beautiful with 2 swimming pools (one of them is with spring water, that is amazing). Breakfast is very delicious. You can rent a bike around the corner that’s very convenient. Close by monkey Forrest. The room was very old, with very old and scratchy bathroom, the smell in the room was very old. Also we had a fire alarm on at 4:30 AM, that woke us up, that was very disappointed. The AC didn’t work properly.

The rooms for the money were traditional and quaint but in need of some repairs. The air conditioning was flat out barely getting cool..but overall a quiet place just for a couple of days. The staff were very helpful and pleasant..the breakfast was ok when cooked maybe but even at the start of breakfast service had gone cold...

Hotel was located in a beautiful area of Ubud. Spa and amenities were reasonably priced. ”

Beautiful scenery. Quiet and lush surroundings. Room immaculate and offered free cooldrink and chocolate in the minibar, the bathroom was a bit outdated and needs some finishing touches. Overall the staff were extremely friendly and always willing to offer assistance. Breakfast was amazing. Main pool, spring pool and spa were in tip top condition and always clean.

      Beautiful spot.”

Very friendly and accommodating staff on grounds and lobby, we stayed in a Raja room the first night which was an (apparent) upgrade from what we had booked (an Agung room ) room was very nice but in between two other rooms with not much windows / natural light, and no view from front balcony, when questioned the next day we were relocated to the correct room - which had a river view (a priority for us when we booked) The Agung room was older than the Raja rooms, and in serious need of a renovation / makeover. But had much better outlook and ambiance, There are a lot of steps to get down from the road level to the main pool or spa area, and in our case to our room. If steps are a problem then request a room up near the road/ lobby. Food at the restaurant Breakfast and dinner was very good, though not as extensive a selection as in town. The spa was not available when we tried to get a massage, (it was short notice) and was nice but full of people and didn't look to be worth staying.

      Gorgeous hotel”

Tjampuhan is a gorgeous hotel. You can see why David Bowie and Mick Jagger liked to stay here. Beautiful garden set in Ubud hills next to the river. Amazing carvings and art throughout the hotel. Springwater pool. Fantastic restaurant. Very spacious rooms and balconies. Excellent choice if you want to stay in a fancy hotel.

      Amazing location!!”

I would strongly recommend this hotel for the setting alone. The views from our room were stunning. The room itself was also filled with character and the staff very friendly. The dinners we ate there were very tasty, however, the breakfast was just ok (omlette a bit greasy and coffee not the best). The bathroom, for the room price, was terrible - old, leaky - however this didn't spoil our experince and I would definitely go back.

The Beautiful setting with gardens and ponds, The swimming pool and spa, peaceful and not wanting to leave!

Wifi not working the 4 days we were there, but the Historic Hotel was quite the pleasure to stay in. I have stayed in many other hotels on Bali, but this setting is so tranquil and Beautiful...........we didn't want to leave the property to sit in the traffic outside. My 9 yr. old Son listed this as his favorite out of a 3 week Travel.........

Enchanting location by the Ubud river”

      Beautiful scenary

The Tjampuhan villas are set in the lovely slopes of the Tjampuham river and there highlight are the balconies facing the trees canopies. Early breakfast in the balcony brings you in close contact with birds and squirrels in the nearby trees and the calming sound of the river below. Lovely. In contrast rooms feel a bit old and tired (but nicely designed). Access to the spa should be complimentary (but is not)and breackfast buffet could be better
