Only if it's your cheaper option”
I stayed 7 days and the toilet was not cleaned any time. A spot of dry urine was there from the first to the last day. The self-check-in and check-out is nice, but I didn't see any receptionist in the whole stay, so I'm glad I didn't need anything. The room was clean and the location is very good. So, for a cheap place for just sleep, it's very satisfatory.
If you're on a budget, this place is for you”
Value for money - cheapest we could find given the date we visited Tokyo. 20usd per night is not too bad. Location - The location is great since it's close to different stations. A lot of walking when you're in Tokyo but that's already a given. Very close to convenient stores - 7/11 or Family Mart all over the neighbourhood. There are also many restaurants around the area and Ichiran is in the neighbourhood!! Cleanliness - The place is clean - no doubt about that. Staff - Self Check-in after 3pm and Self-Check out. Make sure to follow instructions written. We met a staff some days and they were very helpful. Facilities - Their rooms are relatively small but don't forget it's one of the cheaper accommodations given the area you are at. You don't book this place for staycations. It's a place where you sleep and bathe. If you wish to do a staycation, better to book an AirBnB. Over-all a 8.5/10 on my book summing up value for money, location and facilities.
Worth every penny ”
My hubby and I got here late and I found a sign of “self check-in.” Everything I need to know was in an envelope my name on it hanging on the wall at the front desk. It is located a block away from the busy street so no worries for the noise. Clean and cheap to stay :)
location and price reasonable”
comfortable to stay and full facilities like a home. the location is nearby the ministop and korean food street. also conveniece walked down to the shinjuku shopping area.
THE SPACE WAS REALLY CRAMPED”
i booked this with my friends to attend a meeting in tokyo. we arrived quite late and there was no staff waiting but the instructions were all provided. i was assigned to a bed NUMBER 10 which was the most cramped bed i have ever been. it was an upper bunk bed with a block of wall inside the space itself(i think the piping system). not only i couldnt sit straight, when i lied down. i couldnt bend my knee. imagine it. all the other bed were okay.... except that number10 bed. i was very dissapointed. but calling the staff etc was a hassle, i exchanged bed with a friend who is much smaller for that one night. i know the price was 'quite cheap' but the bed was really too much. btw all the other amenities were okay.
Not expensive so no services but good localisation”
Be there for the price and localisation. Near train and subway to go everywhere easily. But not very clean. Bed comfortable. No service. You don't see the staff because self check in and self check out.
Like last previous review it is hard to meet owner of their staff, so we have to book another extra night because we want to check out late but no reply with them. So we already wasting money by pay another night which we not sleep there. But location is excellence.
5 min walks to subway. Walking distance to every attractions. Location really excellence. You can choose either to use toei subway or jr line cause each subway very near to hotel. Easy to check in because self check in. No worries if u check in late. Room is small howver suit with pay. Toilet in the guesthouse not clean. We not meet staff for 6days and hard to interact with them. Make sure to bring your towel if not you have to rent. I recommend for those who single traveler to stay here. If with family u can look at others guesthouse.
Okay for 1 night transit”
I arrived in the middle of the night and left early in the morning. Self check in and check out. Toilet n shower are clean. It just tht it would be difficult if you’re assign to top bed. Hard to climb up and very small space u have there. But worth it for just transit to sleep
No staff or security at all”
Our 2-night stay here was fine, and was a good value for the money considering the location in Shinjuku, which can otherwise be quite expensive. Some weird things were that you hardly saw any staff (I think we saw one person once), there's absolutely no security - the front "door" was an unlocked plastic curtain. So if you left your bags before or after checking out, anyone could come in and take it. And also the rooms were number coded, but the codes were related to the room numbers and I don't think they ever change... That said, nothing was stolen from us because it is Japan after all, but still, it didn't leave you feeling very secure.
Very nice place to stay ”
Room is very clean , i love this place eventho i only stay for few hours due to late check in and early check out with my full schedule. Near to station and 24hr shop . I never met staff when check in and check out.
Worth the price you pay. ”
I visited Shinjuku and stayed here for 4 nights. The Russian guy at the counter was very friendly and we always had a good time talking and learning more about Japan. The Korean guy on the weekend was also friendly. I stayed in a lower bunk bed in the male dormitory. The room was clean and I like the kitchen part where we can smoke and enjoy the cool breeze of autumn. I will stay back here whenever I get the chance to visit Shinjuku again.
Nice location near Subway and Bars”
Pros:Centrally located, easy access to Subway, Night Bars , Friendly front desk ( a Korean guy) , Don Quixote ( a 24 he open wholesale Japanese chain store is a mere cross across the street for cheaper shopping, food, grocery and all essentials. Cons: Very small area, the private rooms are double decker beds with common toilet. No common area so to speak... But they have a fridge,a microwave oven and a perculator for hot water but then not even few mugs, plates, fork & spoon for guest's use. So u end up buying those instead. But considering it's cheaper rate compared to some guesthouses in the area... If only to have a place to sleep and shower I guess the cons further outweighs the pros.
The location is nice but the room is literally small not value for money. They don't provide towels compared to other cheaper guesthouse to them. The Guesthouse is located in the second floor you need to climb up the stairs with big luggage which is very hassle. Also the aircon is not working. The bed sheets smells like it is not wash or clean.
Loved our stay here :)”
Very clean hostel, close to the station and to shops.
Affordable overnight accommodation, just perfect for my needs. After my plans suddenly changed, I needed a place to stay for the night. I had stayed in a fully blown capsule hotel the night before, which had a tv in the capsule, multiple floors, and a number of other amenities, which was nice, but I was happy to save the money at the smaller, more bunk bed/hostel style G'Inn. I felt I had just as much privacy as the capsule hotel with a bit less formality. It was close to a subway station and many options to eat. I was able to spend the day wandering Shibuya and Harajuku and come back to shower and rest without issue. Great stay, thanks!
Nothing fancy but a decent cheap place to stay close to Shinjuku station. ”
The place is perfect for someone who just needs a place to crash for the night. My brother and I stayed in double room and were coming in after sunrise for sleeping after staying out all night. The room was warm and had no windows so it went pitch black when we were ready to sleep. The check in and check out processes were really easy and informal too. Would stay here again if I needed a place to stay in Shinjuku on the quicks.
Clean hostel with great location”
The hostel is tiny and clean. There is no common area, just the dorm rooms. Each bed is small but big enough for my size (small). The check in counter only opened at 12 even though on the board it said 11. The staff is friendly and nice. Even though I was there early, she let me check in right away. It's located just 5 minute walk to Kabukicho, 15 minute walk to Shinjuku station. The bathroom is inside the room and it is clean, there are 2 toilets and 1 bathroom in the room of 10 bunk beds. There was only 4 people including me for the night so it was okay but I can imagine how busy the bathroom would be when the room is full. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend the place.
Great value for money for Tokyo”
It has almost all the basics you need if you are a backpacker. I would maybe just ask for a bigger/longer capsule, and maybe a locker or security cabinet. If you are very tall, you might find it very uncomfortable to sleep. Overall, it is one of the cheapest options if you want to stay in the heart of the action in Shinjuku. Don't book this if you are looking for comfort after a full day of getting around Tokyo. Very clean, very helpful Korean staff, and great location!
This place needs cleaning up. There's musty smell all around the dorms and the toilets have scums all over. Compared to other capsules/hostel with the same average price this is by far worst value for money. Seems like they are lacking of staff too as I don't even see any staff working during my stay. No wonder the place is dirty! PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. WASTE OF MONEY.
