Villa de Coco
Beautiful location but rooms are far too hot!”
The location was great but the rooms were FAR too hot as there was only a fan to cool the whole room. Even the next morning, after the fan had been on all night and the windows open (there was a nice breeze outside) it was too hot so we had a bad nights sleep. We visited in early March, but I believe it is a similar temperature all year round. Ideally need air con or at least some extra fans. My boyfriend almost slept on the beach it was that unbearable. The restaurant prepares excellent fruit juices though
Lovely place to come and relax for a few days”
This is a lovely little place to come and relax for a few days in the sun, it is fairly out of the way so getting to other parts of the Island can be a little difficult without help from the hotel staff to sort out taxis etc. Manwella and her staff are very nice and make you feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend Villa de Coco as a place to come and get away from it all, thanks very much for a lovely stay!
Single Traveler Delight”
Loved Villa de Coco. Delicious breakfast with new pastry items and juices each day and omlettes for guys like me who like to eat protein in the morning. I really appreciated the deal they give solo travelers, and the way the staff were nonchalant about either booking you a tour or letting you explore your own tour options with the guys on the beach (who are generally really respectful too and who have a nice little restaurant next door for some local fish, prior to coming back to Villa De Coco for great italian options -- great beef filet on one order as well). I also like the fact that the place is not made out of concrete! It is very delightful aesthetically.
quiet, relaxing, on the beach”
Villa de Coco is right on the beach and it's so nice to just walk up and down the stretch, either to the more touristy side of Paje or the local Jambiani village. The owner, Manuella, is extremely nice and helpful. Able to arrange trips and taxis for you and stopping for a chat. The employees are very polite and helpful, but do not hassle you all the time. The rooms are nicely presented, with good bathrooms and it's a very good cheap option.
Nice acommodation, nice beach.”
Nice place, nice beach. Big low tide. Italian owner = italian style.
Beautiful nature, exotic place.”
Great place to stay for relaxing”
Great stay! Staff was very friendly. The food was almost all top notch, although breakfast menu is a bit repetitive. They are in the process of building a new pizza oven so the food should only get better. Jambiani is not convenient to many things in Zanzibar and they take cash only so make sure you bring your money with you.
Very friendly hotelstaff. Nice rustic decoration ”
Everything as expected. Service at restaurant very slow. Friendly staff.
very nice beach (almost private) no more”
Too far from Stonetown, just in the midddle of nowhere, in Jambiani.Only for couple and relax.Food expensive, as internet.Beach only in the afternoon f
Nice place, good value”
Very clean, freindly and well run. It is right on the beach and the sea breeze keeps the rooms cool.
Wonderfu place and awesome staff”
Both my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful one week stay at Villa de Coco. It is located in Jambiani, one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar, a quite place with a mix of locals and a hippy grove. Although the hotel rooms could be better decorated, all of them are facing the ocean in a lovely environment. What is more, Cristina and Paulo - the Milanese owners - really strive for delivering a top quality service. Therefore we would repeat there again!
Great location and friendly staff”
i came to villa de coco with a group of 6 friends after volunteering in singida. it was a great change from the rural village that we were staying in and felt like paradise! we felt welcomed immediately and the staff were happy to help us with our requests. i would definitely recommend villa de coco for families, friends and couples - would be great for a honeymoon as well. loved it!
Lovely place and extremely friendly staff”
A nice place with very friendly staff. Food could have been better though but jn all, we are very satisfied with our stay.
Small, friendly hotel on the beach”
it is a small hotel running from an italian couple. very friendly and immediately and literally on the beach. there should not be any bed that it is more than 20 meters from thr sea water. the showers water was not very warm but it was not really a problem since after all you are in the tropics. food in the restaurant is ok, not that great some dishes but good enough. maybe you would expect something more in food from an italian running hotel but the hotel cooks are zanzis so it makes sence. however do not miss the local dishes nights.
Nice small place to spend some relaxing days”
i spent 3 nights with my brother at villa de coco. we felt really welcomed there. it is a small place to relax at the beach as well as do some small trips. we did a snorkeling tour on a boat with a local fisherman as captain.
