Beautiful resort, terrible front desk”
We had a wonderful stay at Anelia, except for every interaction with the front desk. On arrival we were put into the wrong room type even though it was clearly marked on our voucher and when we tried to remedy they told us to check back the next day. The next day they tried to convince us to keep our room (a standard room - smaller and cheaper) than the villa we had already pre-paid! Not sure if it was Anelia or Agoda, but clearly there are problems with reservations and getting what you pay for. That is just one example of the poor customer service at the front desk (we have many more but I'll keep the review brief). Also, be advised that half-board does not include any beverages (despite what some staff may tell you), any prices are crazy. Be ready to pay >$6 for a 1L bottle of water. The only reason the staff rating isn't a 1 is because the rest of the staff was great and friendly and the GM was wonderful and worked to clear up all of the issues created by the front desk. It's a shame too, because everything else was great.
The anelia excels in customer service.the new rooms are big and spacious.10 min walk to shops.beach accessible from hotel.its not a issue.2 weeks of heaven.
Nice stay ”
One wonders how they stay in business”
I can't believe how a hotel with such a great location can mess it up so badly. On business with 3 colleges we had the following issues: Arrived at 9:30 pm with a confirmed reservation to find they had no room. Offered to squeeze 2 single beds into a room!! Took 1 hour to find a room in another poor hotel in the area. Outside bungalows are tired. No hot water in 2 of our rooms. Didn't respond when made aware of it in the morning. Took 2 goes to fix it when they finally did respond. Need painting, toilet roll holders fell off etc etc. Airport shuttle service ended up being 45% more than a taxi. The price I was quoted for a return was actually a 1 way. As a mid priced holiday destination, you can put up with it. As a business person just needing efficiency and logic, avoid at all costs. I travel to Flic en Flac a number times a year and there are other hotels much better at the same price.
safe bet at Flic en Flac.”
we were there for friends's wedding, for a whole week. Most things went very well. Please improve the Internet connection though. Just a detail, but I find that charging for some very short local calls at the reception is a bit weird. Please don't build too many new bungalows/buildings. We like this kind of place. Don't make Mauritius become like Spain where in some areas there are ugly buildings all along the coast. Nature should be preserved
We have had a wonderful stay. Fantastic food and excellent service Thank you Mr Manoj Letoah & staff
Klondike - Highly overated!”
We booked a bungalow with garden view in April 2014. On arrival at the hotel we handed over our voucher stating the room booking. We were told that our accommodation was ready and were shown to a seaview room. When I explained that we had booked and paid for a bungalow the receptionist looked very worried and called the hotel manager. The hotel manager asked me "why did you decide to change your mind at the last minute?", implying that I had booked the seaview room but had decided that I would prefer a bungalow on arrival at the hotel. This was most certainly not the case as the Agoda booking voucher verified. I was told that no bungalows were available, however, after some discussion and us insisting that we have the accommodation that we had paid for the manager said that they would move some guests out of their accommodation so that we could have the accommodation that we had booked. Miraculously after about 30 minutes a bungalow became available!!! When enquiring about the guests that were being moved no answer was given so I suspect that the bungalow was already free. Breakfast was a shambles. Each morning we came to the restaurant to unmade tables and had to wait for cutlery, plates and coffee cups. Most mornings the options available were very limited and empty dishes not replenished. Fruit - mostly dried bits of apple, pear and orange unless you asked for the pineapple and melon to be refilled. Christmas morning - hardly any fruit, no fruit yoghurts, no pastries, no glasses for fruit juice and no water while we were in the restaurant. Evening meal - again poor. Salad wasn't bad but the rest of the hot food on offer was either cold, over cooked or dry. We were on half board option but after two nights decided to eat out eat evening. Positives - nice location, close to local restaurants and there are plenty of sun loungers on the beach.
No impressed at all”
What they offer on their websites and what you get when you there are worlds apart. Rooms are old, waited for a manager for 25mins and still did not get to speak to him.
Nice out of the way hotel for those who love beach”
The location is a bit out of the way, can easily get lost especially if arriving at night. But the location itself make it a quiet and peaceful place to stay in. Small hotel with average facilities, cable network was down during our stay but luckily we weren't there to watch the programmes. The sunset at the hotel is 1 of the best that one can witness in Mauritius. Overall a nice budget kind of hotel to stay in with not much frills attached.
we had a wonderful stay, we felt very welcome. we stayed in a ocean view room and it was really lovely
a stay on a construction site”
Very bad. Construction under way every day including weekends.Noisy machinery and construction workers. Had to spend a lot of money to visit other areas on the island to get away from the noise. Will never recommend to anybody
Very nice hotel quiet and central”
Hotel is not in the best part of Flic en Flac beach, it has a small beach but not the best for swiming, even though, the hotel is quite good locatek five minutes walk to bus stop, very nice gardens close to the sea, quite and well managed, the wifi is too slow. The rooms are very nice in front the ocean if you are staying in this hotel rooms they are rencently reburfished and they are very nice. I will recommend the hotel if you do not need to be in the best part of Flic en Flac beach.
Staff helpful, nice meals”

Woderful view and friendly helpful staff!”
All of us is satisfied! We have nothing to complain about. Nice hotel, friendly staff, good food.
room top-service poor-loud (partys + construction)”
General: mainly african groups - up to 40 People/group celebrating partys feeling allone and behave loud, many loud playing children at the pool + in the restaurant. Restaurant: breakfast limited selections, but fresh eggs on demand. lunch a-la-carte ok. dinner: because locals (some times 300+ people celebrate nearly daily their partys it was a desaster. After dinner: local bum-bum music, extremly loud (you can hear the basses more than 200 m also during the day at the beach). Beach: only 30 m, rest are briggs, dead palms, days after parties it looked like a dump - cleaning only on request to GM. Construction of new buildings will start in spring 2014 = loud!!! Room first floor and cleaning was excellent(view). Organisation: less than poor (only error correction). Large local groups have priorities ... at least during year-end-season. We are not getting there anymore.
