A good experience!”
Stayed as a couple in Dec 2018 - We had a room on the first floor which was spacious with a balcony with sea view...location was good..the stretch of beach for swimming was okay..the whole of the Grand Anse beach is not for swimming..too many rocks..however it was a peaceful clean secluded beach.. Food is not good at all and expensive and water is very very costly..have to buy your own water from shops outside the hotel. The way to the hotel via La Misere road is uphill and the road have no lights so beware if you are planning to self-drive!
Hotel was for a short stay after our flight. We were lucky in that we were upgraded, otherwise I don't feel it would have been value for money. More detail needs to be given to service. Reusing soiled napkins is not acceptable. Staff were exceedingly pleasant. If you were there for a longer period go half board as better value. You would also do to hire a car as taxis are expensive. Make sure they put the meter on
great service and beach”
in general the hotel is great. its nice that its not big and you can get everyplace, not like other hotels that you need the golf cart. the service is amazing. from the reception to the restaurant. the beach is not a prity as other beaches in Seychelles but it was the best beach we were at since: the snorkeling there is the best that we found in Mahe and also La digue at all times there is an area you can swim in, which is not correct to other beaches due to the crazy changes in the tide Room: we got the see view room, we had a view of the see but only if we went out to the balcony and not from the bed or room, then we had trees and pool. I would not recommend adding extra money for it., food: we had half board, breakfast was nice and more European style dinner: allot allot of food, also vegetarian options so plenty of salads BUT the food was not so good. was just ok. so for the price of the dinner, I would recomme to skip it and just order somethin from the hotel or go out.
Its one of the best hotels preferred by Indians. Facilities are amazing. Food is good. Location is also good. Private beach for only this hotel. Only thing is you cannot see sunrise or sunset from this hotel's beach. Its located facing south. But they provide free snorkelling kits to be used in their hotel at the beach only.
Nice 4star hotel with nice garden, big pool and directly at the beach. Regarding the food: as far as I saw, the chefs were Indian. Their Asian and Indian food was absolutely delicious. They did struggle a bit with Western food, however. The salads though were superb again. So just don't stick to pasta + spaghetti every night and you'll love the dinners.
They clean the room like 3times a day and all the staff were approachable & very accommodating. Breakfast buffet was great. We especially loved the omelets. We got the ocean view executive suite & it was awesome. Perfect place to celebrate our union. Private, cozy & just absolutely amazing. We will definitely come back. ❤❤❤
Great Stay. Beach wasnt for swimming but plenty swimming beaches within 1 km drive from the hotel. The monthly night market was wonderful as cultural foods showcased. View from the room was sublime. Hotel has modern aesthetic and is furnished well.
We had a beautiful holiday in Seychelles and had a very comfortable and lovely experience at Avani ”
Staff at the restaurant were very cordial and made it a memorable experience for us . Specially a staff named Avinash . He was cordial kind and very helpful . Renes from guest service at the reception was another person who made our stay even more unforgettable with his very amiable and accommodating nature who understood exactly what we were looking for and made it a point to make our stay as comfortable and memorable . In all we had a wonderful stay at Avani and would definitely recommend it to friends and family
Nice, modern hotel but a bit far from other places in Mahe”
I think this place is perfect for families, especially those with little children. It would be a great hotel if you didn't want to go and see other places on the island so much. However, if you prefer to go around Mahe, it's best to rent a car when staying in this hotel. Aside from that, it was great! Food was great and drinks were reasonably priced compared to most of the other hotels in Seychelles.
A slice of paradise”
If you want a resort in the hustle and bustle of island life, this is not the resort for you. However, if you want a secluded paradise, with the friendliness staff you'll meet, wonderful facilities and gorgeous views, then Avani is for you. This truly was the perfect spot for our honeymoon!
Great Location and Beach but outdated rooms”
Staff was exceptional, smiling and helpful, wonderful beach area with long beach for walking, not a bad swimming pool, however rooms badly need refurbishment, everything is little old and scratched and seen better times. So it doesnt really feel like 4 star hotels. Also evening buffet is little basic. It could be an excellent hotel but really need some changes.
Lovely beach but very old hotel facilities”
+The beach is one of the nicest beaches on mahé island. +Hotel Staff is very friendly and helpful. +Service is very good at the Tamarind. +Snorkeling in the designated area is just amazing! What an experience! -Hotel is very old and needs to be urgently renovated. -Breakfast needs a little bit more of variety I guess. -Dinner was very good most of our 11days stay but whenever you didn‘t go there right at the beginning you only got the crumbs for dessert. -On Sunday you have you your so-called sunday brunch. But having a brunch on sunday doesn‘t gives you the right to not provide a nice dinner in the evening. There was absolutely nothig you could really eat on sunday night. When I asked a cook for the reason he answered that this is the way it is on a sunday. Well this shouldn‘t be the standard for a four star hotel in the seychelles!
We really enjoyed our stay, only experienced too many flies at breakfast.
We had a dream honeymoon in Seychelles. ”
We felt fabulous at Avani, in Mahe. Since we arived we were greeted like king and queen by members of Staff. They parked the car, they got the luggages, they sorted out everything for us. Than we had a talk with Steve, a brilliant and funny guy who came with a huge Mahe map and started to write on it all the information we need: where to go, what to see, what time, favourite beaches, favourite restaurants and bars etc. We've been everywhere he recommended and all were fabulous places. We discovered awesome places and 2 best restaurants: Maria Rock Cafe and Chez Batista Takamaka. Excellent food and great prices. About hotel facilities: absolutely nothing to complain or be unsatisfied of. All were great: great food, good prices, fantastic show on Saturday night, brilliant cocktails made by Cannon, the best barman there. Oh, I remember: there is one thing I can mention I didn't like. We got a 400 rupees voucher for spa as a gift for our honeymoon but couldn't be used for nothing. :((
Nice rooms value for money superb staff”
Though it is a busy hotel in seyechells as it is located at barbons beach however the staff treats every single customer very nicely and solves there query in time if any.Along with the rooms and beach side, garden, pool view you will get car on rental basis plus the Traveller guide for cerole. Food is superb and the best part is bar..The bartenders are so cool, they treat every single person more than their guest. Avani seyechells value for money... saumya
Only stayed 1 night. The staff were very friendly and warm. Elmira made our stay comfortable and accommodated our requests with a smile. Hotel was quite busy. The room is small but well planned. We had rainy weather so unfortunately can't give too much feedback.
Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa”
Wonderful hotel. The Thai restaurant served some of the best Thai cuisine that I have ever had. A bit far from the airport, but nice to get away from the hustle and traffic of Victoria. Beach is relaxing and cocktails were very well made.
We were three families, its on a other part of the island where you be away from traffic. if staying there better to have meals included, since there are not much options available outside near the resort. resort is great and staff is very helpful. The Chef cooked for us specific dishes on demand since we were half board package. The private beach is awesome near the dining area that keeps on giving cool breeze.. nice stay..
Very nice hotel for the price. Good value for money. Excellent and friendly staff!”
We stayed at Avani for 9 days whilst in Mahe. It really was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. We found the breakfast to be exquisite and very delicious. It was pretty much the same every day, but it was an extensive spread with many options! The staff were really incredible - Very helpful, happy and cheerful! The concierges were excellent. We dealt with Steve and he was incredibly helpful and a humorous. The snorkeling at the resort was also great! The resort is not too far from the main attractions on the West side of the island. The resort is a bit far from the main attractions im the East and North of Mahe. Traveling to the South, East and North side - like Victoria, Eden Island and Beau Vallon - is quite a distance. We hired a car for 4 days to get around the rest of the island and got to do everything we wanted to do. If you want to be secluded and close to Port Laurnay for snorkeling, you have found the right place. All in all, a great experience at a lovely resort.
Beautiful hotel by the beach”
The location was really nice, immediately at a really beautiful beach. The beach was good for snorkling and the water was shallow. The restaurant was good and the staff nice. The hotel room was not as nice as expected by the price. Especially the toilet and bathroom facilities were a bit odd. Also the hotel rooms were located in the far end off the property, not facing the sea which was a bit peculiar. All in all still a recommendable and great place.
