Avani Victoria Falls Resort
Needs some attention”
This hotel has an excellent location for access to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and has a variety of animals roaming around the gardens which has great appeal. The staff are mixed, we had some excellent service (Joseph at the pool bar) and some less than so. Bush tracks have a desk based at the hotel so easy to book transfers, trips etc. Sadly we were not allowed access to the David Livingstone Hotel due to a conference. It was one of the main reasons for staying here so very disappointed. It felt like the hotel were cutting costs, no draught beer, no lemonade, we chose two wines and they weren’t available. In the two bathrooms I visited the soap dispensers were broken so no soap which was very poor especially as I had picked up a stomach bug in Namibia and was very conscious about cleaning my hands. We ate at Teddy’s the first night, it was pretty rubbish. My pizza wasn’t great (ones by the pool much better) and all the steaks were of inferior quality, most of it uneaten.
Amazing location, 5 mins walk from Victoria Falls. Lots of wildlife roaming free - giraffes, zebras, impalas, mongooses, baboons, etc. Staff very friendly and genuine.
A great location but disappointing service”
A lovely setting and great design and ambience however it was marred by contracting food poisoning from lunch at the poolside restaurant. I mentioned this twice to two different staff and there was no response of substance - just a quiet "sorry". For the price one pays, one would not expect food poisoning and one would expect a response that would be more than lip service. Also, the service of the staff at the pool side restaurant was very poor. I cannot recommend it at this point. The service is not commensurate with the rating and pricing of the hotel.
very disappointing ”
This is certainly not a 4-star hotel. There have been way too many problems. For just a few: they provide one washcloth for two people, the room was filled with mosquitoes, the sink would not stopper properly, our friend in an adjoining room was almost electrocuted, there are power outages, the air conditioner is still off, and the trip planner was especially unhelpful. they were slow to respond if at all. we had to schedule all of our events outside the hotel and Chris Stewart is a blessing.. we had decided to stay here rather than their sister company to Royal Livingston and that probably was a good idea so as not to waste more money at that stodgy place. I definitely will not stay here again.
It is absolutely deserved to book there, free to falls, good facilities and service. I love this place. Book it without hesitate

Worst and not to recommend.”
Compare with price it was the worst place to stay I ever had.
Wonderful atmosphere, great location, attentive staff, good facilities even ice making machines and excellent breakfast and pizzas
A repeat stay at the Zambezi Sun. ”
This was a return stay at the Zambezi Sun. As usual the staff were great....polite, helpful and very friendly. The grounds are beautiful and location next to the falls is perfect. Zebra, giraffe and Impala roam freely and are beautiful to see. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable as always and any requests made for room service etc were prompt and of good quality. I really would recommend this hotel to anybody. Already I can't wait to return!
Breakfast was lovely, the staff were amazing and helpful. A friendly hello everywhere I walked! The rooms were smallish but clean and bright. With the Falls and facilities so close we were barely in our room anyway. Loved it!
Vic falls accommodation”
Stay was pleasant, staff very accommodating, only a 7 min walk from room to Vic falls gate entry, and it's free if staying at the sun. We had friends staying at the sun and at the Royal Livingston. The two are within walking distance if each other so it was very easy to meet for meals etc. The price is quite high however that can be expected as it is as close as you can get to the falls. The meals and drinks were very reasonably priced (about AUD$2.50 per beer, about AUD$12 for a meal)
Great family friendly resort ”
Our stay at the Avani (formerly the Zambezi Sun) was fantastic. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds had a very large pool where most of the children would congregate and play when not participating in activities. There was also zebras, impalas, and other animals that would graze along the grounds. Avani is a five minutes walk to the Royal Livingstone which made it very easy to get to any falls related activities that left from there. The resort also had its own entrance into the national park and was free to all guests. Overall, a great experience and would recommend to anyone to stay at the Avani.
A short break”
Very enjoyable.Staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The proximity and access to the falls was very good as was the range of activities and excision that the hotel could arrange.A brilliant stay.We would stay again and recommend it to friends.
Zambezi sun Hotel - Now Called Avani”
We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. Having unlimited acces to the falls meant that we went 4 times during our stay. The zebras, giraffe, baboons and other wildlife that wonders freely around the hotel was fabulous.
Zambezi Sun at Vic falls midweek stay”
Had a wonderful time at a spectacular natural wonder site. It's definitely something out of the ordinary, we also enjoyed the zebras grazing on the lawns of the hotel everyday and the cute monkey families around in the trees. Took really nice photos of the falls as you get so close to it. A very good choice to "re charge your batteries"!
Fantastic Location with Resort Feel”
It was really great and we loved the ease of access to the park where we could take walks. The staff were very friendly, however now always too helpful as we often ordered something from one waiter and he would forget and we would have to re-order.
Zim/Zam & Malawi trip”
It was lovely! We can not complain about anything. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Their Kamp Kwena is super for little ones and the pool is wonderful. We enjoyed everything about Zambezi Sun.
