        Paradise.”
We came to the island for a 4 day short break. That was over three weeks ago. We have now extended our stay for an extra two months. Cassa de la Playa is so relaxing it is unbelievable. The food in the Pagoda restaurant is great. You can spend hours snorkeling just outside your villa. There are a couple of bars within a couple of minutes walk. Laundry service and WiFi in the bar. Certainly worth a visit.

I have been travelling extensively for work and having local tourism exposure on recent projects. However, this is our first time in Siquijor and the objective is a personal travel with my husband The service staff are very warm and accommodating,. The foreigner partner /owner is hospitable. The facilities have room for improvement but generally it has been an acceptable stay

First I want to thank the hotel for allowing me to cancell ladst year due to a death. So I rebooked for this year. a wonderful view. The beach is small but nice. The Restaurant had good food. The room did have a few ants a spider and a lizard. I had no issues with that because not many. The place is a 10 minute walk to the main road where transportation is cheaper into town. They wanted 300 pesos to take you to port. We got for 200. They are nice and would stay again if I visit the island again. Internet wasnt great but it worked.

Wonderful Resort on a Secluded Beach”
We stayed in one the air conditioned rooms overlooking the beach. The room was excellent and the view indescribable. One of the most memorably stays of my life on a lovely small island at a fantastic resort. Staff was very accomodating and friendly and resort is perfectly situated. The gardens and decor of the resort was very well done, good food in the restaurant and a white sand private beach. Highly recommend.

The villa itself was lovely, simple but quaint and exactly what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is quite far from San Juan, but not too far away from the port. Perfect if you’re looking for a retreat, but there isnt much in the near vicinity.

Nice place but really way to expensive for the price”
Playa is set on a large beautifully cared for rolling lawn with an amazing garden. The beach front cottages were very reminiscent of the Greek islands and looked the part. The reception area and garden view restaurant is beautifully done in a traditional Pinoy style with beautiful wood and details. A meandering path leads you down to your room, through the very pretty garden. The staff are lovely and we even had a quick chat with one of the owners. They were really nice and friendly. We paid 1425php for a small room with AC down by the fence with Ocean glimpses. Its a nice simple room and cozy enough. The AC was extremely loud and didnt really do the job as the room is built to be 'open' with screen vents in the walls allowing the area to pass through. Great idea but not maintained or looked after in any way. The rusty AC rattled and shook all night. We stayed a night in San Juan and paid a little more for the most amazing suite by the beach. Beautifully appointed and designed room with whisper quiet AC and big screen TV. The bathroom was bigger than the room at Play! We asked for breakfast the next day and got a small bowl of muesli with vert tasty yogurt. My wife had toast and eggs with some jam. We had a small fruit platter and drinks each. This was just over 600php. To give you an idea we had a beautiful dinner the following night at San Juan. 2 large pieces of BBQ marinated chicken. Marinated bacon strip, sweet chilli prawns, sizzling sisig and 2 beers each. This was 520php and we were stuffed. Next morning we had a toro toro breakfast of pork, chicken, beef, fruit sald and mango shakes each. With coffee. This was 300php. What to do around Playa? Nothing. There are no bars and only the Resort restaurant. A beautiful beach where you can walk out 200 meters and only be knee deep. The closest bar is the Viking bar and its 10 minutes away. You cant walk anywhere as its down a long rocky road. There are no locals, no people and nowhere to go. Playa is perfect i

From the port Casa de la Playa Beach Resort is about 30 minutes away on a tricycle 350php. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance except the restaurant on sight which does serve very nice food.I hired a scooter from the port 1000php for 4 days or the resort charge 350php a day.You will need your car licence and to sign a rental agreement and wear a helmet on Sequijor to ride a scooter. We stayed at a beach front cottage which was at the bottom of 42 steps down to the beach, when the tide is in the waves touch the steps to the cottage its a beautiful location and view. The cottage was quite old but quaint with 2 burner gas cooker, sink and fridge in the little kitchen. the double bed was comfy and shower pressure good but only cold water. It was so relaxing to sit outside with the view of the sea the mountains in the distance and the clouds. However its not a private beach and at night there are people fishing and collecting shellfish on foot and in boats in the sea close to the cottage using flashlights. There were several nights the power went off for hours sometimes so i advise taking a good flashlight as its very dark there when the lights go out. The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful.

It is very difficult to write a bad review considering how well we were treated during a festival that was happening during our stay. The welcome is warm and cheery the food was ( free during this festival ) very good local fare. What let's this place down even though the location is stunning are the rooms. Simple is good, but really does need some renovation and better plumbing fixtures even by Philippine standard. Even though this is not our first visit here, I think it may be our last, such a shame because siquijor is a beautiful island.

Beautiful setting but very remote ”
We stayed four nights at Casa De La Playa. It has a beautiful beachfront setting ,and nice gardens . The room overlooked the sea ,and we could go to sleep and wake to the sound of the waves. The room was a decent size , wifi was patchy in room but better in reception. The staff like you to pre order your dinner an hour before arriving at the restaurant , which was a first for me , but no big deal. The big negative for me , was the location . The hotel is a good 10 minute walk uphill to the main road to wait for the occasional trike or multi cab to come past . There are no shops anywhere near , and we found only one other small restaurant further along the beach . The nearest town is around 20 mins ride away. Hiring a scooter ,is a must if you would like to enjoy the beach and solitude on offer, but for us it was just too far away from everywhere .

Lovely food, pretty good location right next to Larena Port, so when myself and my boyfriend didn't arrive until 12pm, it was easy to get to. James and his team made our stay, he is a ray of sunshine that makes you feel right at home. Also cheap motorbike hire for 350 pesos for the day!

I was researching for a beachfront cottage and found this. Location is the things good on this resort! Beach is dirty, full of seaweeds and rubbish. Room is very old, dirty and smelly, and linen stink! I was not expecting much but this resort was just way too undergraded!

Our room had an amazing view of the sea and we were almost alone except for 2 more guests we hardly saw. It's completely secluded and very private; good for honeymooners. Love love the beachfront! Food is ok not a lot of choices and served after 30 mins or so - the usual laidback Filipino way (Hey, you are on vacation afterall!) Went to the restaurant an hour after they closed but the chef accommodated us and made us yummy sandwiches! :) More Caucasians than Filipinos. Staff speaks good English. Highly recommended! Will be back soon.

beach front cottage, fridge, ok wifi
First of all, note that this property is located in the quiet north eastern part of the island, far from the best beaches and most other resorts in south west. Being on the northern side also means that you don't get that much sun. If you are looking for a quiet hideaway, this could be of interest for you but if I where you I would go for one of the neighbouring resorts instead. We stayed in a beach front air con room which definitely had some pros: it was a quite cosy room with a big veranda where we enjoyed our own breakfast (the one they serve is quite expensive, and more about the restaurant later) and sundowners while watching the sunset. And it was clean enough. But the room as well as the whole resort needs a facelift. The bed linen and towels were old and the pressure in shower and tap extremely low. We were also surprised that some of the cheaper garden cottages had wifi access while the more expensive beach rooms did not. Regarding wifi, the neighbouring resort had at least as good connection as the Casa. In the reception/restaurant they have a lot of different info on the island and services provided, however most of it is from the 90s/00s making you wonder if it's accurate or relevant at all. Some surely isn't. They also advertise that they rent snorkelling gear, but what they had was a bucket of old, broken and dried stuff, we tried to pick the best but goggles and snorkels were leaking. We tried the restaurant a few times but were generally disappointed. First of all, all dishes (yes all it seems, even salads!) takes 1-2 hours to prepare since they "make everything fresh". But honestly, I've been to loads of restaurants using fresh ingredients and usually don't have to wait more than 30 min. This only shows that they don't know how to run a restaurant. We were also surprised by the dishes they offer. They specialise in vegeterian cuisine, but many dishes were more or less only potatoes. But the fresh mango juice was great!

        Location, Charm and Staff
I loved this place, but can see how someone who was unaware would not like it. the showers (as i understand) are typical Filipino showers, so hot water isn't really available except for during the day. but a cool shower in the tropics is quite enjoyable. there are dogs everywhere, not street dogs, they are the owners pets and they are not aggressive but will invite themselves onto your porch. they will not beg while you eat, but will snatch anything tasty when your not looking. we left our cottage open when swimming and the only thing that disappeared were my glasses i left outside. all valuables remained in place. i should have known better since my own dog has done this before too. the staff is great and helpful, will clean your room regularly or upon request and will work to resolve any issues quickly. No mosquitoes in our room, but had a net if needed. Electric fan was fine for October (i thrive in snowey climates, but survived just fine) the restaurant however did have mosquitoes as it is an open air gazebo. so beware at dawn and dusk (like everywhere else in the phils) the food is all made to order so they suggest preordering for a designated time, it works well and the food is good (except for the substitution of Tang for OJ in a cocktail) they dont accept credit cards but will keep a tab open you can pay in cash when you check out. Over all excellent place if you want a quiet time and experience Filipino life and hospitality.
