The location of the hotel is incredible. Just one corner away from the Auckland tower, a large grocery store where u can buy necessities including food souvenirs like chocolate at affordable prices. The location of the hotel is incredible. Just one corner away from the Auckland tower, a large grocery store where u can buy necessities including food souvenirs like chocolate at affordable prices. It even has a souvenir shop right beside the entrance. The lady there was awesome and most of the items are reasonably priced. There was one wooden carving that was a few dollars more expensive compared to a commercial shop we found earlier and when I asked for a discount, she gave it for a few dollars cheaper plus without asking her she gave me a free bag of sweets as I bought a lot of souvenirs. The hotel itself was very reasonably priced. For a 2 bedroom suite, it was about the same price of my earlier hotel which was outside of the city and only had 1 bedroom. My suggestion is to book early. We had no choice but to get the suite as we booked last minute. Still, the price was cheaper than other hotels' 1-bedroom units. All the staff were nice and friendly. The rooms were very clean. I can't really complain much. I almost did not get this hotel due to its Low price. Thought it would be no good because it's cheap. I was very pleasantly surprised

The hotel provided a welcoming base for our first 2 nights stay in New Zealand. The furnishings were clean but rather dated - the wardrobe door had obviously been repaired before but was broken off its hinges again, and the drawers needed minor carpentry to help them fit properly, both DIY jobs which could easily have been remedied. We enjoyed the restaurant both for breakfast (continental) which had all the choices you could wish for, and the evening meal which was presented very attractively. All in all, a hotel we were pleased to have used.

After a long multi-stop trip around both islands of New Zealand I wanted to stay somewhere comfortable with a hint of luxury and some style for our final days in the country. After a lot of searching I settled on the Naumi due to the impressive styling of the lobby and rooms, the location near to the airport was also very useful for us. Upon arrival we were immediately impressed, the decor and interior design is really impressive for a hotel (especially in NZ where many seem a bit bland) and the staff were very efficient and welcoming. Our room was large, very comfortable and had an excellent shower and bath. It was all of a high quality, clean and well designed. The free drinks and snacks in the mini bar was a nice touch and the breakfast offered an impressive selection, good quality and well cooked. I would happily recommend to all and when we return to the area in the future we will definitely look to stay at the Naumi again.

Our stay at Mt Cook Lodge and Motels was amongst the best of our month-long visit to New Zealand. The weather was fantastic which meant we were able to enjoy the stunning scenery and surroundings from the comfort of our family apartment. The family apartment was ideal for us as two friends travelling together and everything was excellent. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Great choice of food options for such a small place. The only slight downside was the WiFi which was very limited, possibly not surprising given the location. I can not recommend this highly enough, other than to say that our two night stay was barely enough. We could have had a much longer stay very happily. However, that might not have been the case had the weather not been as good as it was. Highly recommend this!
We loved the location and the one bedroom apartment we got. Nice for both of us traveling at New Zealand. The location were good but there’s the construction going on. It didn’t disturb us that much as we were out during the day and by the time we get rested, it’s all good. The room has complete amenities for us to make good use. Clean and spacious

this hotel is great. it has the best heater from all other hostels when i stayed at new zealand. i stayed in the four ensuite female dorm. the room is large and sufficient for four people. the shower and toilet is separated. there is a balcony where we can hang our laundries. there is a 24h groceries store near by. it so close to the lake and to anywhere else. the internet connection is affordable and fast. the receptionists are friendly and very helpful. there is also a tour advisor in case we get confused on where to go. however, it can be a little bit noisy. the guests chat aloud in the balcony. the kitchen is too crowded and i never got to have the free dinner since it was on first come first serve basis and the food was not sufficient for all of us.
This was my favorite stay in New Zealand. The view of the mountains, just wow. And best WiFi of my trip. I hope to return one day.

Hotel 115 is located in the center of city, 3 minutes away from a pedestrian area full of restaurants and cafes and has everything you need at a good price. The hotel is unique because it’s is part of a restoration project of Christchurch heritage light-rail. Basically, the hotel building is the old city light rail deposit, now converted to a covered shopping area with cafes, restaurants, tourist agencies and guess what... an active vintage light rail stop. Definitely something unexpected in the heart of Christchurch and a great stop for your photo memories and selfies. The comfort of the hotel is comparable to what the high end hotel chains offer and rooms are designed to give you a five star experience with high quality mattresses and linen. Bathroom are standard size and have a colorful touch. Staff is remarkable and ready to help you with your requests. Big plus is that the hotel has a big parking lot which is free after 5 pm until 9 am. The only minus is that I would improve the frigobar selection with local wines and some snacks.

We booked a 3 bedroom apartment at Mantra Marina. There were 7 of us in the family and all of us agreed that this was the best place we've stayed in New Zealand. Love everything about it, my mom enjoyed using the state-of-the-art kitchen too and the walk by the lake was just superb. Town centre is just 5 mons drive away.

Unfortunately, due to extra late arrival of plane into New Zealand, we did not check-in until early hours of the morning and thus missed a dinner booking at the hotel's restaurant and had a shortened night's sleep. However, the bed was very comfy and breakfast location and breakfast itself very good. The only issue to consider for visitors is to be sure to have a good map of area, as the streets in the area of the hotel are tricky and at the late hour of the night proved a little difficult to find in our hire car, even though not all that far from the airport. A longer and better planned stay is recommended!
We will certainly return as the hotel exceeded most of our requirements. The only downside was that all wifi was charged This is increasingly uncommon in the hotels where we stay in New Zealand, the US and the UK.

Closet space and lack of a luggage rack or place to set two suitcases was difficult. But the view from the room was amazing for New Years Eve and the staff providing unexpected extra services made up for our suitcase space issue. We would deffinitly book a stay with them again!

The 2 bedroom apartment was small for anyone staying longer than a few days. Kitchen was fully equipped for our needs. Bathroom small but shower good & lots of hot water. Most disappointing thing was there was no WiFi. This I believe is an issue in new zealand which hopefully they will be sorting soon.

We have stayed at motels in New Zealand with free and uninterrupted wifi. Novotel should be aware by now that free wifi access is a must-have for international travelers.

This is a very good backpackers hostel, the staff very nice and polite. They allowed us to use the bathroom even we not yet check in the hostel. The hotel is centrally located, which very near to shopping area (QUEEN STREET)and other famous visiting area like sky tower, train station britomart, voyager new Zealand maritime museum and etc...

To be honest Base isn't much of a "homey" hostel... the capacity is a few hundred and its always really busy with a lot of people coming in and out but what it does offer is LOCATION! The location being right on Queen street means your no more than 5-10 minutes to everything! My best advice is ask to stay in the Strand- it has bigger rooms and nicer bathrooms!

I will be the first to admit that this place scared me the first night we stayed and yes they can do a lot to improve everything. However, please keep in mind its price. In NZ and specially in Taupo, this is the cheapest place for a private ensuite where one can have the kitchen facility. Yes, the room's window opened to a closed hallway, i.e. the rooms are basically windowless. But our room was CLEAN. I have no idea how any of the places in NZ can manage to survive in summer but we are traveling in the winter. Now that I know how primitive both heating and cooling is in this country, I will never visit here in Summer. Our bathroom had plenty of hot water. Our first day we had the bad luck of having the noisy "drifters" as other guests who took over the common area. However, by 9:30 PM the bar closed and everything was quiet. Even before that, after we closed our room door, the noise was minimum. I hate noise. If I can sleep through it, almost anyone can. I had to put teh business hat on. They drank a lot and the facility made some decent money that evening. Winter is a slow season and this group saved this hotel's existence. The wonderful owner Kary explained it next morning. The kitchen area has everything one needs and with the all the signs of basically begging the backpackers NOT to steal things, I had to sympathize with the owners,not the backpackers. Yes the room was dark but it is the construction of the building which makes installation of new electrical anything very difficult. But they are working on it. I asked and was given a small light so that I can read. It will be nice if we can have real news in the TV in the common area and also a different kind of heating will be nice but once again, it is NZ. We are going back there next month for one night.

Many companies are nearby such as Jucy, Britz, etc. So if your flight arrives late after midnight, it’s convenient to actually to stay here rather than go all the way to City centre which will cost you alot of $. Staffs are friendly. They even offer to do a wake up call because we are afraid that we miss our flight back home as it is very early morning check in! Keep it up Jucy team! The “pantry” is super huge where there is a kitchen you can cook and mingle with other guests. Overall, it is a highly recommended place to stay. Tips: if you arrived late after midnight, there is no shuttle from Jucy. Don’t take the taxi as they are really expensive and some don’t even want to take you to Jucysnooze. I had a good time at Silverfern, the staff were super helpful and friendly, bedroom was nice and clean with other interesting guests. The kitchen was large with good appliances and equipment. Toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Location is good near main bus terminal and Sky Tower. This seems to be one of the best hostels in Auckland.

We arrived to be met by the friendly and helpful owner. Our family room was clean and well kitted with what we needed for our 1 night stay. The shared bathroom facilities was right across our bedroom door and there were ample facilities that even at full occupancy there was no waiting period to use the clean facilities. We were treated to a nice surprise with a hearty soup and bread at night which seems to be a usual. The included breakfast was a good start to the day with a special warm porridge, freshly brewed coffee, juice and even gluten free and dairy free options to compliment the freshly baked muffins and other cereals. Should we visit Picton in future, we will gladly stay there again.
One of the best hostels in NZ I've stayed in. Lovely chill vibe, fully equipped kitchen, good unlimited wifi, free filter coffee with fresh milk, board games, TV lounge with DVDs, sauna(!), lovely house dog and friendly staff etc. etc. What is there not to love?!

The staff are super helpful, the airline lost my luagge and the staff basically helped me anyway they could, lent me a charger, lent me a towel and didnt charge me and even in a 12 bed dorm you can actually sleep!! Loads of space to chill The only annoying downside, but after being in another hostel I think may be the norm, is there is no individual locker in the room which means you either have to go to reception everytime you want ro pull something out from there storage or you have to trust that no one in your dorm has sticky fingers. My flight out of NZ is from Wellington, I will be staying here again.

So much better in the various aspects of a hostel experience in Auckland, New Zealand than say, Choice Backpacker Hostel. Paid only slightly more in my case but better in terms of worth. And good free breakfast!
Perfect place to stay that's super cheap however I wouldn't book all females again because I don't get along with them, apart from that you can't go wrong for $20 tbh
Centrally located, this is one of the best hostels I stayed at in New Zealand. The rooms have high ceilings which gave the dorm rooms an open feel unlike some of the more cluttered places that are comparably priced. Beds were comfortable and sturdy, and it had everything needed. Plus it was atop a rock gym for those who like climbing :)

this hotel is great. it has the best heater from all other hostels when i stayed at new zealand. i stayed in the four ensuite female dorm. the room is large and sufficient for four people. the shower and toilet is separated. there is a balcony where we can hang our laundries. there is a 24h groceries store near by. it so close to the lake and to anywhere else. the internet connection is affordable and fast. the receptionists are friendly and very helpful. there is also a tour advisor in case we get confused on where to go. however, it can be a little bit noisy. the guests chat aloud in the balcony. the kitchen is too crowded and i never got to have the free dinner since it was on first come first serve basis and the food was not sufficient for all of us.

BBQ on Wednesday for $7 including drink, count me in! Everytime I have stayed here it feels like I'm the only person in the hotel which I love. It's generally quiet and the rooms are just the right amount of private. The high ceilings give the best illusion of space and adds a kitsch feel. I love this hotel and would highly recommend staying here.

Nothing flash but it was warm (centrally heated with old radiator type system throughout hotel giving consistent dry heat). Mattress was reasonably new and comfortable, with clean linen. Double room was clean and spacious with relatively sparse old, solid furnishings, but perfectly suitable for a cheap overnight stay before/after a late afternoon flight, ferry, train or coach and when an early morning transfer is required. Handy to Bluebridge Ferry terminal and across the road from the central Wellington Railway Station, with an airport bus stop and Intercity bus stop within a 3 minute walk. Not really a destination hotel, and by no means of a high standard, but comfortable, straightforward and friendly. The price is the winner here.

The hotel is unique because it’s is part of a restoration project of Christchurch heritage light-rail. Basically, the hotel building is the old city light rail deposit, now converted to a covered shopping area with cafes, restaurants, tourist agencies and guess what... an active vintage light rail stop. Definitely something unexpected in the heart of Christchurch and a great stop for your photo memories and selfies. The comfort of the hotel is comparable to what the high end hotel chains offer and rooms are designed to give you a five star experience with high quality mattresses and linen. Bathroom are standard size and have a colorful touch. Staff is remarkable and ready to help you with your requests. Big plus is that the hotel has a big parking lot which is free after 5 pm until 9 am. The only minus is that I would improve the frigobar selection with local wines and some snacks.

Unfortunately, due to extra late arrival of plane into New Zealand, we did not check-in until early hours of the morning and thus missed a dinner booking at the hotel's restaurant and had a shortened night's sleep. However, the bed was very comfy and breakfast location and breakfast itself very good. The only issue to consider for visitors is to be sure to have a good map of area, as the streets in the area of the hotel are tricky and at the late hour of the night proved a little difficult to find in our hire car, even though not all that far from the airport. A longer and better planned stay is recommended!

Totally I lived in this hotel for 4 times during Oct to Nov 2010. Agoda is offering very good price for this hotel and make this hotel is really outstanding and value for money. To be fair, this hotel is really 4 star hotel standard. Comparing with the hotel in New Zealand, this hotel looks still new. Recommend to choose standard room rather than the studio room.

Like many other hotels in NZ, this is also easily reachable by Super Shuttle from the airport ($20). Overall, I had no complaints and had a very pleasant stay. I think it's very good value for money. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful clean room - as it should be for a very new hotel.
After a 3-week tour of New Zealand, we stayed here to rest up, do laundry (no charge for community washers/dryers ... and one of our rooms even had a washing machine in their room!), and shop before heading home to the USA. I cannot say enough about their wonderful staff.

One of the managers at the reception first day ask us to tell them if we really feel code at the first night (so strange, we already use the heater more than three hours and we really feel cold in the room though she finally give us a extra heater after we use agoda message to complaint this) and when the manager leave our apartments complaint we are ridiculous(michelle). The second day my parents told me they feel very cold at night and my mom doesn't feel well, therefore we put the extra heater we got first day in my parents room. And ask extra heater or electric blanket for my parent's. The second day manager do help us quickly, but she mentioned in soda message our room is very hot (I put the extra heater in my parents room that's why when staff is coming the room is warm). I talked to other guests also stay in the apartments they feel warm in the room because the first day the apartment staff already provide electronic blanket. And manager Michelle not give us two extra heater first day because the other apartment need one. I don't believe most apartment room are warm enough with the weak heater, especially the days we stayed queenstown temperature went down quickly.

Parking has indoor and outdoor, better be early so your screens wont need wiping away the iced mess from overnight. The bed was a king size and was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. The only down side was that for the first time in New Zealand, wifi wasn't free. We had dinner in the restaurant and were a little disappointed with the selection on the menu, but the food was really good and the portion sizes were excellent. All in all, we would recommend this as a great place to stay before or after a flight.

When we checked in, we inquired if breakfast was included, and the answer, which was it was not in the case of our booking, was given in a manner that at best was condescending and was closer to contemptuous; when we checked out, we were not asked how we enjoyed our stay and the person checking me out made no eye contact with me, and in addition to the failure to ask about our stay, offered no pleasantries on our departure, such as wishing us a good day or a continued enjoyable time in New Zealand, which with they exception of her surly and snotty service, we had done and continued to do!
We stayed for one night on our trip through the South Island of New Zealand. The proprietor Mary was so very helpful in giving us tips on what to do, where to eat and when to leave for Milford Sound. We left our car parked there throughout our stay - walked to the skyline gondola, The Station Building (where we boarded our bus tour to Milford Sound), Fergburger (awesome stuff), etc. Just walk. Kitchenette is well equipped. In addition to the usual stove, cutlery, crockery, utensils and the like, they also have an oven and a dishwasher. Only thing is it would be better to buy your ingredients in bigger supermarkets like Pak n Save and New World instead of the smaller Four Square nearby. Oh yes, we got a complimentary small bottle of milk at check-in - nice. Bathroom contained the washing machine, along with a complimentary packet of washing detergent - absolutely convenient. We happily washed all our clothes and hung them to dry on the laundry rack. Dried ok in the living room, thanks to the functioning and well-placed heater. Do note that we are not allowed to hang anything in the balcony. In the sleeping area, there's a King-sized bed and a near-queen-sized bed. Both had electric heaters, which meant we really didn't want to get out of bed in the cold winter mornings. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would choose to stay here again.

Upon arrival we were immediately impressed, the decor and interior design is really impressive for a hotel (especially in NZ where many seem a bit bland) and the staff were very efficient and welcoming. Our room was large, very comfortable and had an excellent shower and bath. It was all of a high quality, clean and well designed. The free drinks and snacks in the mini bar was a nice touch and the breakfast offered an impressive selection, good quality and well cooked. I would happily recommend to all and when we return to the area in the future we will definitely look to stay at the Naumi again.

My spouse and i had the best experience in this apartment. It honestly has the best of all worlds. Value for money, Jaw dropping scenery and some of the most friendliest and most helpful staff one could come across. The apartment is situated nearby to literally everywhere. Its only a 10 minute drive from the airport and to the towns nearby. Its also nearby to lakes and other natural wonders. The room layout is excellent and its fully equipped down to the smallest kitchen equipments. Though its not as cheap as other regular hotels, its definitely worth every single cent.
We booked a 3 bedroom apartment at Mantra Marina. There were 7 of us in the family and all of us agreed that this was the best place we've stayed in New Zealand. Love everything about it, my mom enjoyed using the state-of-the-art kitchen too and the walk by the lake was just superb. Town centre is just 5 mons drive away.

He catered to all my requests made at all kinds of times - a plug adaptor, a fruit knife at 9pm, checking out 6am without prior notice. I would have liked to give "excellent" for location because it's so near to the town centre. But it's situated on a steep slope with driveways and walkways that aren't too well designed for ease of access, so that took away a star. No problem for a car, but anyone on foot or on wheelchair will find it challenging.

Excellent location with great eating options being in the Britomart precinct. Hotel breakfast was great too, easily 2 of the best meals we had over the weekend, the restaurant is on level 13 with again excellent city views on one side and harbour views on the other. My other sister and her family came to breakfast on Fathers Day and were thoroughly impressed with the food service and value. We had wind down drinks at the hotel bar, great atmosphere and the staff are so beautiful and accommodating. To top it off the hotel staff also organised a little cake and brought it up to the room for my mum. We will definitely stay again!

A maid from the evening shift came to our room, and matter-of-factly stated that it must have been the morning staff that had taken the bottle. The next day, upon checkout, I told the receptionist about the issue. She offered nothing even resembling an apology. The hotel is generally a nice one, but this is a full service hotel. Every other room we stayed in New Zealand had a well-equipped kitchen, but this hotel had only a refrigerator stuffed full of minibar items. We asked for our minibar items to be removed from the room so we could use the refrigerator, but were again left with an unsolved issue similar to the disappearing wine bottle. The location of the hotel is pretty good, but the rooms look out over a business area. Our view was of cubicles in an office across the street, and there was always someone in the office looking back into the hotel rooms. There are limited restaurants in the immediate area, also.

Recently renovated in a formerly tea house, the boutique hotel has a unique taste and class while sitting on the vivid Queen Street. Welcomed by their specially brewed tea and sincere conversation, I was kindly upgraded for the first night's stay and my other requests had been taken which is to move to a slightly higher floor. Knowing the history of the place with nice decor (and the jewel collection photos )and seeing the teapot set in the rooms, one would easily be travelling back into time and get nostalgic especially as you step into the elevator. We didn't take advantage of the posh breakfast spread, honestly a little pricey for what we wanted, but looked to be a treat for culinary and gastronomic senses. 5 minutes around the stoplights I'll have you in front of FergBaker - an incredible counter offer ring a selection of french breads and pastries still warm from the back room that would make chef Pierre weep. Note, the rooms facing the town and lake may have an obstructed view, the hotel is shaped like an "L". But trust me you'll want to spend all your time outside. Also, always being wary of the unforseen, we were reluctant to reserve given there were no options to cancel. We were glad to have risked it though - payoff was worth the worry. Pretty nice hotel and very friendly staff. Internet prices in New Zealand are through the roof but you can get free wifi in the lobby. The city itself can get a little stinky with the hot springs everywhere, but the room did a pretty good job of keeping the smell out.

I had two kids with me and they enjoyed their stay due to very spacious one bedroom apartment. Everything was really clean. Nice little kitchen with everything that we need to feed our little monkeys. Soundproofing was good as well between walls. Cons: Soundproofing between floors are not that good. I could hear thumping noise from the floor above especially at night. I am a light sleeper and one night I had trouble sleeping for few hours because people from the room above came back around 2am at night and kept walking in the room and closing doors for quite sometime. Except that it was a real pleasure to stay at this property and would definitely book again. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Not too sure. This apartment booked is the only one that we did not like out of the 2 weeks we stayed in New Zealand. The only good thing is that the location is close to restaurants and supermarkets.
