Nice older man and woman running the place but I have a number of complaints. No one was around when I arrived (actually they are just hard of hearing and didn't hear my loud call for someone), the woman doesn't speak any English and the man speaks just a little, shower wasn't nearly hot enough and the bathroom smells (there's another bathroom downstairs though so it might be better), fridge doesn't work, and I was given really bad information about buses. Pros: the man and woman really are nice, good people, the wifi was good, and it had a better lobby than what photos online indicate.

I booked just one night, but I stayed one more night. So I stayed totally 2 nights because of cozy hostel and nice city. There is balcony on the dormitory room. You can take a break at the balcony. There is the locker, lighting and electric outlet on each bed. And there is towel and blanket. We sometimes expert No blanket in Some hostels. It is important when it gets colder in autumn or winter. There is tiny kitchen. It is no spice and oil.

Clean, tidy, free tea and coffee, all the time, very friendly and helpful staff, going out of their way to assist be it from getting more milk, changing linen to helping find out how to get by train or bus to a distant destination, which are the best options, etc. I was here three nights last week, and have returned for another three nights now, and was made most welcome by each person on reception as they recognized me as they came on their shift. A real home away from home, and competitively priced to boot! It being a lull between shoulder- and high-season I have had a 4-bed dorm to myself - just lucky with my timing I suppose. Even so, the dorms are well designed to minimise light and luggage of others sharing with you (I did have one night with anther dorm-mate).

The only thing is, towel could be nice, but for the price, it's really a great hostel. very comfy bed, kitchen for cooking and common area is perfect. Would stay again!

Stayed at Shanti Hostel Bitola for just one night in March 2014. *The location is central. *Staff spoke good English and was willing to help. *Decent WiFi connection. *Price was very affordable. All in all - a recommended hostel for those who need a decent inexpensive place to stay in the first place.

The Shanti Hostel is conveniently located, just 300 m from from the Skopje main bus and railway station and 100 m from the nearby bus stop. The hostel and particularly the bathroom were spotlessly clean and the staff was courteous and professional. Despite the outside temperature below freezing (in mid January), the owner was keeping on the fire in the central heating system almost all the night and rooms were properly heated. Although the hostel is located in a somewhat shabby (but still perfectly safe) neighborhood, it is well maintained and good value for money. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for a hostel close to the main train and bus station.

Hotel is clean and nice. Location is a bit far to walk to the bus station but still ok nearby the main road. The staff, Vaneesa is really nice, helpful and english speaking.

kitchen equipment is good but the dinner table is too small. Nice complimentary coffee and tea. bathroom is okay and spacious

A perfect alternative from hostels. Quiet location, outside garden area and ensuite. Fluent English spoken. The apartment was clean and even had a kettle.Great for tea on the patio in the morning. Speedy WiFi. A good walk from the Old Town, but close to the lake.

The owner really went out of his way to make by one night in Bitola great. He invited me to drink rakia & white wine with him & his friends. There was a nice cat to pet & then he even shared this meat & cheese dish that went well with the rakia. The conversation & the company was great. The room was nice too. But don't rely on Google Maps to show you the correct location, the place is further down the road across from a much bigger park. Definitely recommended!

OMG this is the best guest house i ever stay, Bozana really nice, she give me warm hug when i arrived, she served me tea with some locals delicacies. Room was small but enough for 1 person, bed was comfortable and warm. Bathroom was clean. In the middle between bus station & city center, perfect location for me.

The hotel is ideally located between the city center and the train/bus station. However, it is in a rundown neighborhood. I would almost not call it a hotel. It was located in a courtyard that appeared to be a bunch of office rooms. The room was all glass walls, as you might find in shops or office complexes. (There were curtains over the windows) The lack of walls meant that the room was really hot during the day, cold at night, and we could hear everything going on outside. I would not suggest staying here during the winter time as I imagine the room would be freezing cold. For its price though, the room was a good value. The staff were very friendly.

We loved it so much we're going back there in a week's time. The staff are outstanding, nothing is too much for them to do to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the breakfast buffet had everything you would want from a breakfast. The location is 10 minutes from the bus/train station by taxi (150 Denar) and half an hour from the airport. There are 4 or 5 excellent local restaurants within a 5 minute walk. This was an excellent boutique hotel and we look forward to going back.

We had a very pleasant stay here. It was comfortable and the staff helpful. It was in walking distance of everything we could need.

We stayed in the motel Atika for 2 nights. Thee location is just perfect, as it is directly indide the old town full of restaurants, shops and cafés. The old market was literally behind the corner and it was also close to the fortress. The price is the lowest in the area and everything in the hotel is new. We can fully recommend it!!!

If youre looking to experience the Macedonian countryside with its beautiful mountains, food and people this is definitely where you want to stay! We rented a room for 2 people for $20 a night with breakfast included. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. Here you will organic food straight out of the garden, local honey and fresh organic eggs. The place is clean, wifi works well and you will feel right at home. Enjoy your stay at Kitka!

we really loved our time here . Ella was so amazing , always offering us tea and coffee and being very helpful. the WiFi is perfect , theres a tv and kitchen and everything was sparkly clean. we were put of at first by the location as it is near the fort and uphill but the walk down is just so stunning that it was well worth it , your also right next to the amazing fort and taxi home is only about 2 euro. its not the place to stay if you want to party as its very quite and peaceful. we had a lovley time and fully recommended a stay here

Super hard to find, way out of the city it seems abandoned and like no-one ever stays here, or that it's used for other kinds of business. Avoid.

I was offered a room at another address, in a shared apartment. I didn't like being transfered like that to an isolated place with no real common area

Really simple room. Bed was not very comfortable and with old linen. Shared bathroom was clean but no shampoo or soap. I would not stay again, it was the worst room I stayed in Macedonia.

Great venue with a great host. Zarko is a fantastic host and full of great insight and ideas of how to get around and things to do. The villa is in a really nice central location of Old Town (once you get your head around the city layout). There's some stairs involved, but find for anyone without mobility issues. Nice view of the lake to wake up to every morning, and turkish coffee is freely available. Villa is at the end of a dead end street so is nice and quiet with no foot traffic from other holiday makers. Will definitely come back!

We first met Alexandr when he picked us up from the bus station where he actually waited for us although the bus was late. He also sent us to another bus station as we were about to leave. Overall the rooms were big and we had all the facilities promised. The old town was a 5 minute walk from this location. We would definitely recommend this place and also stay here the next time we go to Ohrid. Thanks Alexandr

We are really charmed by the great warmth and hospitality of the Husband and wife which on the Gust House. They were very helpful in every possible way. They even dropped us at the bust station and Boat excursion points. Even their beautiful young daugter helped us in use of the Kitchet attached to one of the two rooms we booked. From one of the room the view of the Lake Ohrid and surrounding area was just great. And, also hiking to the fortress every morning was a pleasuer. Heartily reccommend this Guest Hous to all.

The location is excellent, close to the famous complex "Vodenitza 3". The rooms are well furnished with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The owner is a very welcoming and nice person. Definitely recommend this place.

Great location and lovely, lovely staff. Downsides are that there are no balconies or any outside space. And remember to close your windows at night because the bar next door can be very loud.
