This was my first stay at 2000 hotel. And i was very impressed by the staff who work there. They are so kind and willing to help and make sure your stay is a s comfortable as possible. I have not see this kind of service anywhere yet and i have stayed in my fare share of business hotels around the world. Granted its not as elegant as the 5 star and above hotels of this world but what it lacks in classiness it makes up in character. The food is mainly Chinese since the hotel is owned by Chinese investors. The quality is fantastic and very authentic and the portions are huge. Basically one portion is enough for 2 according to me. The only let down is that the hotel is not modern in it room design they still have the shower inside the bathtub approach which i find annoying. but apart from that it a great budget business hotel. I would love to single out Chantal and Esperance at the front desk they really made me feel welcome and special. Thanks Ladies.

I arrived to the hotel for them to tell me that my booking doesn’t exist and that they are fully booked with no rooms what’s so ever. This is dispute me having a confirmation and having paid for my 2 rooms. I had to spend 45min waiting and speaking to Agoda, who called the hotel to help. After Agoda’s call the rooms were miraculously found. The hotel staff unhelpful and when I asked to speak to the manager they didn’t want to allow it. Other services in hotel were fine after this.

PROS: - Near Khana Khasana - Really cool restaurant at top CONS: - We booked through Agoda for 2 people, but then they charged us an extra 30 USD saying we had only booked for 1 person. It felt like a bait and switch. A bit of "customers always right" might have been helpful here. We didn't bother arguing - The rooms have a window over the door into the hall. During the night, it's very bright in the room.

This hostel was acquired by others and owner changed recently. So, a signboard of Murugo Rwanda Hostel was detached. Now it is called De House Restaurant & Bar. It is about 700fr by MOTO (bike taxi) from the city and 7,000fr (US$10) from the airport by taxi. Room is clean but shower is not always literally hot though heater is working. I used 2 bathrooms during stay for 3 nights totally but water is not enough in one of them. Small soap was prepared for both but body shampoo was in one of them. Service was good overall but such small thing was not arranged properly. I had a dinner here. Quality is average but price is expensive a little bit. It seems they focus on restaurant business but still a long way to fully satisfy the customer. However, a breakfast is not bad. They prepare in a short minutes and served 2 slices of toast, fruits, coffee or tea and egg meal (omelet, scrambled egg, boiled egg or fried egg). If weather is good, you can breath fresh air and get a nice view from there with a cup of coffee in the morning.

I stayed here 3 nights after the Serengeti Safari. Was upgraded to private room (thanks!). Taxi from airport costs RWF 10,000. Natalie arranged a taxi for me to go to Murambi genocide memorial at reasonable rates. Santos is also very welcoming and helpful. Boda Boda (motorcycle taxis) easily available nearby. Excellent Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant nearby where you can get a full vegan/vegetarian meal (Bayaynitu food). Superb Veg restaurant only a motorcycle ride away - you must try Preet Fast Food in town! One suggestion: a fixed place to hang-dry customer laundry would be much appreciated :)

This hotel has two pools. Covered each night by a floating blanket, the water is warm and inviting. Most extraordinary, they are treated with sea salts and had no perceptible chlorine. As a result, I experienced none of the smell and eye irritation common in other hotel pools. Adjacent showers allowed for rinsing immediately after the swim. The two restaurants (Heaven and Fusion) had creative African and international dishes, well presented. Staff, from the newest trainee to seasoned duty managers, were completely fluent in English and likely French, knowledgeable, and friendly. I chose the least expensive room (Villa section), which was small, but still had a small desk and private balcony. The other sections were reportedly much more spacious and brighter. The free "management reception" cocktail with a colorful combination of liqueur and juice, daily from 5 pm to 6 pm, was a nice addition. I definitely would stay there again.

Really dissapointed with this hotel. Everything just didn't work out when I stayed. The room they put me at the back in between the restaurant and the bar was rarely used and I found out that the electrical sockets wasn't working at all only after I laid out my stuff which was too late and would be be a lot of hassle to move again. The water don't drain properly when you take a shower as well. I don't understand why they can't they put guest in the better rooms located near the reception when no one seems to be staying in this run down place anyway.

The place is clean and the staff are friendly. We were on bed and breakfast. The breakfast did not have many choices but basic tea/coffee and bread and omelette. The room was very spacious but lacked good lighting for the night. The shower was a slow trickle and needs to be upgraded to a power shower. The place is value for money is you want to spend 1-2 nights. The boutique is next to town so every thing is accessible form here. Restaurants around the hotel so you would not be stranded.

We stayed at Fanad Guest House for 2 nights and found it to be clean, comfortable and convenient. It is slightly off the main streets but still within walking distance of everything. A casual ramble down to the beach would take maybe 10 minutes. We stayed in a double room with bath ( we only used the shower ). We didn't have hot water on the second night but a cool shower was no problem at all and cooled us down nicely. The breakfast was good with the usual omelette,bread, fruit and coffee. Each morning there were quite a few dead small flies just inside our door. To be honest, these flies never bothered us and the plug-in insect killer provided obviously did it's job. With the exception of the guy who cleaned the room who was always smiling and friendly the staff appeared somewhat surly but still were easy to deal with when required. Overall, this was a good value clean place to stay. Not 4 star, but you get what you pay for and we would have no problem staying here again.

It is enourmously overpriced - the same hotel in Thailand would be USD 20 per night only. Staff helpful with basic English. There is no safety box in the room! They close water supply at night! A lot of moscitos in the room. The breakfast is very basic. The best thing is the location of the hotel, but be prepared to guide the taxi driver to the place - no one of them knows it.

We had a blast at this hotel. The reception right from the airport was remarkable. The receptionist made us feel at home away from home. The hospitality at this hotel was unmatched throughout our sojourn in Rwanda where we stay in five hotels. All the waiters were out to ensure our stay was comfortable. The breakfast was a blast for my family. The buffet breakfast had variety and was nicely prepared. the rooms were excellent and very clean. I will definitely be back.
