As expected we have been greatly welcomed and introduced to this boutique hotel (spoken English is good). The staff is super nice and friendly, helpful right away when you need anything. Not exceptional rooms but the environment is pleasant and it's recent and well maintained, very clean. The breakfast is cosy.

This is a wonderful hotel in Old City. 20 metres from the pedestrian street where you can have a wine and pizza at “Alvarez” or you can drop down to the Puerto Mercado for a meal and shopping spree. The 116 bus from directly across the road takes you into the heart of the new city and down to the beach to see the MONTEVIDEO letters for 39 pesos. They also offer an amazing day trip with a local company to Colonia for US $64 / 2145 Pesos. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and speak some English. Rooms are immaculately clean and modern. Minibar, hairdryer and aircon provided. Breakfast is full and hearty with breads, cornflakes, fruits, meats/cheese and cakes. We loved it here.

I stayed in a 4-bed dorm, and had the most pleasant experience. Everything is clean and fresh. Staff is extremely nice and friendly. The room is comfortable and quiet. The bathrooms are modern and functional. It comes highly recommended!
We had two bedrooms in one small apartment! The staffs are very very friendly. It is very new morden apartment hotel. And it is very near the shopping mall, so we can easliy buy some food and cook in our room. Very worth! I will come back .

Beautifully renovated hotel in the old town, right opposite a major museum in Plaza Zabala and near others as well as the Burquebus port. Staff are extremely helpful. The area is very safe in the day time. At night take a taxi.
My Suites has a free wine tasting session but we didn't try it. However the breakfast is great and dinner is good too. The staff are VERY helpful and got us taxis several times. Also we fell sick and they referred us to the clinic nearby, where the doctor saw us for free! The doctor didn't speak English but one of the staff there did so we managed to get diagnosed and ...
My Suites has a free wine tasting session but we didn't try it. However the breakfast is great and dinner is good too. The staff are VERY helpful and got us taxis several times. Also we fell sick and they referred us to the clinic nearby, where the doctor saw us for free! The doctor didn't speak English but one of the staff there did so we managed to get diagnosed and got a prescription which we filled at a nearby pharmacy. All in all a wonderful experience, highly recommended!
Hostel owner was fantastic and he truly cares about your life experience as a guest. He spent a considerable amount of time while I checked-in telling me everything about Montevideo and the must see places. Breakfast is simple, but delicious. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Spacious lockers are available in the room. Hostel is spotless clean. This place is truly amazing.

perfect place to getaway best mattresses, spotless clean, crisp white sheets and reverse cycle air con. nice and quiet with free breakfast and in a great location in the old city. no one staying when I was there so not social but it was a nice break from the grubby dorms rooms.
Fantastic location, the sea view room offers a super view, quaintly appointed with everything you need. Floor to ceiling windows are spectacular!

This hotel has everything you need. Its close to everything, you are in the middle of town. It has parking, good value for the money. I will def stay in here again

while the lafayette appears to have been built (30? 40? years' ago) to 4-star standard, it is now out-of-date. but, still fully functioning. if you choose to stay here because it's the cheapest 4-star in town, you really have no right to complain about it. (want better, pay more elsewhere.) because the room was booked through agoda, lafaytte staff at check-in first ins...
while the lafayette appears to have been built (30? 40? years' ago) to 4-star standard, it is now out-of-date. but, still fully functioning. if you choose to stay here because it's the cheapest 4-star in town, you really have no right to complain about it. (want better, pay more elsewhere.) because the room was booked through agoda, lafaytte staff at check-in first insisted only a room on the 2nd floor was available to me, one in front of the street and too noisy. finally, they agreed to provide a 6th floor room, and while the room was also on the street side, it had a new noise-blocking window. a comfortable sleep. strong, quiet ac. ok cable tv, but no news in english channel. free wifi signal low, though, in room. nothing noteworthy in furnishings, just basic. breakfast the only thing that could be justly criticized at the lafayette. good, inexpensive laundry across the street, a block down on the left side. location of this hotel excellent for downtown montevideo. there's a pool and a gym, but did not use.
This hotel is in a great location as the Old Town is very close. Lot of shops and restaurants and historic sights nearby. It’s easy to find bike rental places nearby and to ride down the boardwalk to Carretas and Positos. Would recommend staying here. Breakfast is good, the room was spacious. No complaints.

Excellent service by the front desk staff who went out of their way to accomodate guests and always with a smile. I even extended my stay by one night and despite a full-booking was put on the waiting list in case of cancellations ...

In the meantime they had organised for me to move to a nearby hotel in case things didn't work out. The location is beautiful - right on the waterfront - and the free bikes they lend out are the best means to get around. Overall a wonderful place to stay and I would definitely stay there again and also recommend it.

I'd give the Radisson 4 1/2 stars. In Montevideo it is probably one of the very best you have to choose from, especially the location. The old town area, just across from the Placa Liberdade is the main attraction of the city and the Radisson is right there on the Placa. Loads of shops. This was near the end of my stay in South America, there were plenty of places to buy souvenirs, shop around. Mercardo de los Artesanos a few bloks down was particularly good I thought. Montevideo is a very pleasant city, friendly people. There were plenty of places to change money, I even managed to change sterling into USD at a very good rate. I had arrived from Rio Grande, Brazil, wildlife enthusiasts, the stretch south to the border, Chui was very boggy/pampas, there were loads of birds and I saw a couple of large crocs. I really wanted to see capybara, and I did, quite a few, some right by the side of the road as large brown pig shaped rodents, some as large as a small dustbin. There were a few remaining rheas, it was the weekend, the colourful local gauchos were holding a meeting. I departed for Argentina using the ferry, two sailings per day. Tickets in the docks, a restricted area, ther was a chunk of the battle ship Graf Spee that had presumably been salvaged. The fierce gun battle between the German and British parties was well explained. This was a very pleasant hotel and a very pleasant couple of days I had in Montevideo too.
This was our first trip to Montevideo, Uruguay and we had a good stay at this hotel. Hotel is well location near tourist attractions and walking distance to the Rio De La Plata (river)waterfront.

And this hostel belongs to a chain establishment that has hostels in brazil and other south amerian countries.
As the place was still under construction I wouldn't recomend to stay there now but the place does have potential. The staff are friendly and the location was good. We booked a private room which was clean but small and it didn't have any curtains on the window so we would have been better with the dorm. It will be interesting to see how the place is once finished.
Really great place, very helpful staff, they do excellent food as well out in the garden every night. They even gave us a lift to the bus terminal when we left to. Highly recommended

Very friendly and nice Stuff. The hostel was big with different chill areas, kitchen is perfect for cooking and the dorms where quite and comfortable. I really recommend this place, its 15 minutes away from the center but definitely worth the stay.
Im too old to sleep in a bunk room with ten other people but it was worth it for a few days due to above reasons. Pool, staff, and people. Sleep through breakfast as it is nothing but sweet jams and toast, and bad coffee. Buy instant coffee at the Disco supermarket down the street!

One of the most amazing hostels I've ever been to. Cozy place, well located, helpful and fun staff and indead great vibes. Make sure you bring some Meat and Carbón to fire up the huge Parilla and enjoy some drinks in the backyard!

The colorful murals on the walls really added to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. But the best part is that the staff are laid-back and really helpful. The place calmed down around midnight, so we were still able to get a good night's rest, however, it might not be as calm if the hostel is more packed than it was during our stay.

There’s next to no room for your bag. Thankfully I was there in the off season (April), I cannot imagine what these rooms are like when it’s high season and full. There’s not much privacy for showering. Kitchen is very small, again, I cannot imagine what it’s like to try and cook in there in high season.

This hostel is one of the friendliest places I've ever stayed filled with art and run by charming proprietors,. It's also situated within walking distance of all the historic sites. Some of the facilities are aging but it adds to the atmosphere to ge honest. Thanks for a great stay!

Not particularly clean, but friendly staff. Included breakfast extremely basic. We also chose this budget option because of wifi as we needed to do a few things for work but the internet was terrible the entire 3 days of our stay and we ended up having to hang out in bars/restaurants for internet access. But, given price of other lodging, would still say it's a decent option.

talk about service. i have stayed at hotels from the high to the low. while the price for this was quite high for what you get in terms of facilities (major holiday in argentina had driven up the price of everything), all was very comfortable but this will definitely not suit the business, or high-maintenance traveler. while expensive hotels including notables like the casa puebla were nearly hostile about any questions or service requests, the manager at this establishment not only offered to call me a remise to get me to the bus station but also called to find out the bus schedule and then asked me if i needed help getting a hotel room in colonia!!!! these people go out of their way asking frequently if all is okay with the room, if you need anything and the like. this is truly family in the best possible sense of the word and as i said, not for the business or high-maintenance traveler but very very enjoyable.

The owner speaks excellent English. Can easily be reached by contacting the hotel and arranging transport from the bus terminal in Salto or Termas de Daymon. I booked for 2 nights and stayed for 3 weeks! Quiet and no one here.

Quirky old building at a location that is perfect to discover the Old town or the center. Staff went out of their way to help and assist. I had a room that opened onto the street, next to a bar and it can get very loud. But the hotel is open about this, so you are aware when booking.

(want better, pay more elsewhere.) because the room was booked through agoda, lafaytte staff at check-in first insisted only a room on the 2nd floor was available to me, one in front of the street and too noisy. finally, they agreed to provide a 6th floor room, and while the room was also on the street side, it had a new noise-blocking window. a comfortable sleep. strong, quiet ac. ok cable tv, but no news in english channel. free wifi signal low, though, in room. nothing noteworthy in furnishings, just basic. breakfast the only thing that could be justly criticized at the lafayette. good, inexpensive laundry across the street, a block down on the left side. location of this hotel excellent for downtown montevideo. there's a pool and a gym, but did not use.
great location of the hotel. the rooms are clean nice and tidy. there are great shops close to the hotel. safe enviroment. breakfast would have been better if there were vegetebles served.

This hotel was the last one on a trip that saw me stay at over 17 different hotels in the last two months and it was the cream of the crop! Excellent service by the front desk staff who went out of their way to accomodate guests and always with a smile. I even extended my stay by one night and despite a full-booking was put on the waiting list in case of cancellations and luckily there was one. In the meantime they had organised for me to move to a nearby hotel in case things didn't work out. The location is beautiful - right on the waterfront - and the free bikes they lend out are the best means to get around. Overall a wonderful place to stay and I would definitely stay there again and also recommend it.
I'd give the Radisson 4 1/2 stars. In Montevideo it is probably one of the very best you have to choose from, especially the location. The old town area, just across from the Placa Liberdade is the main attraction of the city and the Radisson is right there on the Placa. staff were very friendly and answered our questions. they were always ready to help when needed. the room was amazing and right in the middle of the city which was great and got upgraded to a suite!

We found a great price on agoda.com, so decided to treat ourselves to this hotel for our last night in Montevideo. The location isn't very central, but it is close to the beach. The rooms and hotel were modern, had wifi and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioner made some noise, but it didn't bother us. Our room didn't have a very good view, but maybe rooms up higher do. The staff were friendly and helpful. For us, the best part was the breakfast. Most of the breakfasts that we had in Argentina and Uruguay were quite limited in terms of choice, especially when it came to savory options, but this hotel had great choices across the board.

the place is very nice, we got to the hotel at 3:00 am, and that was not a problem for them. they have parking included in the price, and the staf is very nice. but you have to stay in the bigger rooms, because the small ones are not very nice. the breakfeast could be improved. we would stay again.

We loved this hotel. We stayed in a superior double that looked over the Mercado del Puerto. The room was spacious and spotless with comfy bed, big bathroom and double vanity. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and provided excellent service, from welcome drink to breakfast. My boyfriend’s sock that was drying on the balcony fell and one of the staff picked it up and called our room to let us know they had it at reception! 😂 The hotel is steps from old town promenade and ferry port, so easy to get there and out if you are stopping over from Buenos Aires. Recommend!
I liked this hotel though I just spent a night in there, staff was really helpful, nice basic breakfast, rooms are very modern and equipped, neighbourhoods seems to be one of the top end residential places in Montevideo at only 15 mins in taxi to city centre, just locate next to the beach, you probably can get a nice room with sea views there, I have a good experience

There is a good shopping center within walking distance and a casino if one is so inclined. The hotel is close to the Ramba for beachside walking. I most definitely would stay stay at the After again.
A beautiful new hotel with excellent facilities but a bit far out of town. Taxis need which are not cheap in Uruguay. Breakfast marginally better than the usual terrible of Sth Am.
This is a very traditional hotel, very airy and comfortable. The furniture and facilities are not brand new, but it is compensated with the generous dimensions of all the locations, including the lovely swumming pools and the nice restaurant. The staff is very corteous and the food and beverages are of very good quality.

This hotel is in a great location as the Old Town is very close. Lot of shops and restaurants and historic sights nearby. It’s easy to find bike rental places nearby and to ride down the boardwalk to Carretas and Positos. Would recommend staying here. Breakfast is good, the room was spacious. No complaints.
this hotel is much further away from punta el este than we understood. it takes 25 minutes to get to the city and the shuttle bus does only go twice a day from sunday till wednesday, which make you kind of stuck if you don't rent a car. the hotel badly need to be renovated as you can see that it was a very nice hotel many years ago, not so stylish nor pretty any more...

I enjoyed the hotel tremendously,particularly sitting outside at night eating dinner .The gardens are wonderful and i ended the charm of the hotel.The room i had in the tower was a little small but overall i had a wonderful time and love Uruguay,going North from Punte Del Este to Jose Ignacio was worth the day trip and seeing al the great homes
