      Pay for what you get”
Let it be known this is a hotel that has seen better days, but I knew what I was getting myself into. It's very close to the night bazaar as well as being in the middle of three or four bars including a drag Caberet and a modern youth hostel that has pretty decent but over priced coffee. The morning buffet breakfast is a eggs and sasuage and some Thai stalles. It's not gourmet, just somp to fill your stomach. The wifi in the room is pretty bad, which is expected. The rooms look like the have the same beddibg and furniture which I find super kitsch. The view from the room over looks the river and for the most part it's decent. Just don't expect anything like the modern roms along side of this hotel. The patrons are mostly Chinese tourists as well as Thai people visiting for the weekend.

      Never again”
Hot water runs out in evening, internet intermittent, staff not helpful at all with either problem. When asked they just said there was nothing they could do. Breakfast was ok. Old hotel that hasn’t seen any upkeep in quite some time. Don’t take the stairway because that seems to be for storage of junk. Pool did look ok and inviting but it was too cool outside to go in.

      Fading glory ”
The hotel sits on the banks of the River Ping and you can see the Steel Bridge from the window. The rooms are large but the decor hasn't been update in 30 years. You can tell that it was once a grand and magnificent hotel. There is a hundred year old teak house (itself a mini tourist attraction) onsite. But the rugs were stained, the walls were painted red, and the mattress are creaky. The staff is super-friendly once you get to know them. There is a private tour guide for hire near the front desk. He is expensive, but you get a private one-on-one tour. The hotel is mainly for Chinese tour bus groups right now. There are a few independent tourists. The best thing about this place is that the prices are similar to the price you would pay around the area for a guest house. They are fixing up the place right now. The pool area was getting a fix up while I was staying there.

      Rundown hotel”
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. On arrival at the hotel there was no one to carry our luggage. Receptionist gave us the key to our room and told us floor 5, No guidance how to get there. We had to find it our selves. Hotel looks very nice from outside but inside is a different story. This hotel is not looked after, there is smell of mould, the carpet has never been cleaned. The room was full of smell, spider webs every where. Left the Windows open 24 hours. All the power points in the room are broken and hanging on the wall, half of them do not work. We were to stay 7 nights there but stayed 2 nights and left. This hotel should not be on anyone's list. No star.

A very good value and great location. It is an older hotel and is showing its age but it was clean and a nice sized room with a comfortable bed. The staff was very accommodating and the onsite laundry was very handy. This was a great hotel in its hay day and it works well now for the budget minded.

Good for overnight stay. The curtains are needed to be changed! PLEASE. The toilet is a little small, but hey, it was fine (just change the shower head too please?) The location is really nice, I got this view of the river, super lovely. Also, its walkable to the Night Bazaar market, very convenient. The staff was okay. The room smells a little, but understandable (due to the old rugs installed in the room)

      Warning: Uninhabitable health-risk”
I’m not picky at all and have often found bad reviews to be out of line. But this place earns zeros across the board and should be removed from any site listings. I could see the lobby once was first class, but that must have been 20 years ago. Everything was origina: carpet, curtains and upholstery, and upkeep stopped 10 years ago. Room reeked of mold/mildew. Towels were like rags I use on my dog. Bathtub drain was rusted out and there was no showerhead. I thought, well I could stay one night, but by then my eyes were watering and sinuses swelling from mold spores in the air. I tried to call the lobby, but of course the phone didn’t work. I hate to think what the included breakfast would have been like. I decided to escape, despite having to eat the one-night charge they’d keep, as per their policy, which must be the only way this sad relic makes any money. After I checked in to another hotel I had to buy some nasal spray to flush out the mold.

Older property on banks of the Ping river. This is an older hotel but it's redeemed by the fact it's in a perfect location on the banks of the river within 4 minutes walking distance of the night market and and his son market and all the downtown side such as the top a gate the friendly staff a wonderful the breakfast as basic buffet but it's a great value for money at around a 1000 baht per night .... ....

The location and the building looks very impressive, but once you enter the hotel, you get a very negative vibe here. The room is spacious but the toilets are all give old patched one! The breakfast very very ordinary, and I would prefer another place next time.

This hotel is old and not well maintained- eg. many of the electrical outlets did not work. Room smelled and was not very clean. Location is great and near to night markets, etc, however I would not stay here again.
