it was not good. i am very much particular with the toilet and bath area. i was not impressed because they are not well maintained. staffs doesn't know how to speak in english. well, they should be because it is a hotel. what kind of guest are they expecting? guest who can speak the local dialect? duh!

No surprise
It was clean, the employees friendly.
No charme, too far off from the city centre and the price is far too high for this basic accomodation. You will find better deals.
Booking through Agoda failed, although they confirmed the booking. First night of our intended stay there was no room available and they drove us time later over too another hotel which was even worse. The night we finally stayed in the hotel, we were surprised by the levels of noise presented by drunken guests who have ordered some female company at the reception. The price is far too high for this basic accomodation. Try somewhere else.

What can you expect?
It was clean.
It is situated at a busy road, 15 min. walk from the center of Luang Prabang which at nighttime is a quite dark road. There was no working internet access.
Travelling with a child I found that I needed to book in advance - hence I booked at this hotel because the mentioning of it was quite positive. Perhaps I/we have different needs but it was not very central and we had the ill fate of staying while a funfair was in town and the noise from that was almost intolerable (it kept on till past 10.30 pm). The 15 min walk into the center of town was very dark and the pavement is not very smooth. I'd have preferred to stay closer to town had I known that. And I am quite sure that I could have gotten as good/better service at one of the central guesthouses. Should I return I'd just find accommodation when arriving, there is plenty to choose from.

Simple as it is
easy to approach the center
Not so clean
I have slept in this hotel one night and i see that the Service is not so good, breakfast is very very simple and the room is not so clean. The reception can not speak well English so it is really hard to ask for informations of Luangphabang. There is no HBO or cinemax in the TV chain.

Nice experience - I recommend!
The room is perfect, nice people, good breakfast!!! The hotel is very beautiful and well-organized!!!
The location is a bit far from downtown. It´s not a big deal, in 15 min. walking you´re there.

Haysoke Hotel
nice hotel
a bit far to walk into town
Hi i enjoyed my stay at Haysoke Hotel, though it was a little far to walk into town and taxis are very limited. It was only about 1km out but after doing it several times a day it gets a bit tiring. The rooms where comfortable and the breakfast was ok. The hotel was very quite and very peaceful. Overall it was a good stay. Though next time i will look for a close hotel in town.

good but far from center
clean and comfortable.
not really cheap; far from the center.
this hotel is good, room clean and bed comfortable but it is quite expensive for the quality. the bigger problem is the distance to the center of Luang Prabang: fivteen minutes of walking! Breakfast is also not terrible.

Nice and quiet
A common balcony - special good if you smoke
The breakfast was just food - and the Laocoffee something different.
It is a very pleasant hotel with a good atmosphere - small rooms and no luxury, but acceptable for the money. A bit far from the city, but more quiet than the hotels/guesthouses on the mainstreet.

So-so hotel - used as a last resort
Off the main drag of town
15 minute walk from town Breakfast food not that good Staff seemed unaware of how to conduct hotel business, especially the night crew; saw them playing video games on the pay-computers construction had just begun when we were there ugliest curtains (lime green - yecch!) known to man - my wife almost wanted to leave as soon as she saw the room!
This wasn't a bad place, but it wasn't that great, either. We had planned a month-long trip to SE Asia and for some reason had forgotten to book any place to stay in Luang Prabang! So at the last minute we rushed around trying to find places a week in advance. All the guide-book recommended b&bs and cute hotels were taken so we scrambled around online to find one place that was definitely not booked - the Haysoke Hotel. We should have wondered why it was so easy to get a room here. It was only about half full the entire time and this was during Christmas season! Unlike what others have stated it is NOT a 30 minute walk, it took us about 10-15 minutes, walking briskly. Otherwise you could take $2.00 tuk tuk ride -- how hard is that? It's not near anything touristy but if you want to see real Lao people in their environment it was kind of interesting to walk around the road. There is a Lao bbq place just down the street that we were told was excellent but we never had the chance to try it.
