Great Customer Service & Kind Staff for good price, but error in room prep!”
Make sure to check with the hotel staff (call them the day of) to make sure that your room is prepared the way you wanted. We booked 2 identical rooms both with 2 individual beds but when we arrived the rooms had been taken mistakenly by other travelers. The staff was kind enough to clean up 2 other rooms while we waited, but if you don't want any unfortunate mistakes like this just call ahead, they are very responsive! This hotel as of June 2019 is pay-by-cash-in-person, but I would call in advance to confirm before you arrive and hand your money in if you've already given your credit card information via Agoda. Thankfully the Jambiani staff were rapid response and helped me resolve the issue within a week.
Check-in could be improved”
We arrived at the property and there was no one to welcome us. Someone opened a room for us without explanation. I had to go myself to the restaurant/reception to ask what was the check-in process. Our TV did not have channels because we had to wait for the manager to top up something in order for us to have the TV channels. First impression was a little bit chaotic. Following this incident the rest of the stay was good. Layla was fantastic with us. The cleanliness of the room was good. Quality of the food in the restaurant was very good. The location is right in front of the beach so it is perfect.
Cute hotel very close to the beach. There is a local village nearby very nice to visit.
Priceless location and a pretty good chef ”
They made us feel good. For some reason they couldn't give us the room we booked, so in return we were recompensed with a nice dinner on the house. Very nice people working there.
Good location, overpriced”
We stayed at a beach front bungalow and was nice to have an airy room as there is no air conditioning. There is not much privacy as the balcony is right by the sun lounger area and the beach. The beach is busy with locals trying to sell things. Ladies also offer massages. The food including breakfast is average compared to other places. No alcohol served and no TV as advertised. Also the wifi was not operational. If you are happy with no aircon no wifi and no tv you can stay at places nearby for half the price.
Should have stayed longer”
Very relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of Tanzania. We enjoyed our absolute beach front bungalows.
Beautiful beach side place to stay. The sand is literally on your door step.
Very quiet and relaxing”
After a week long hike up Kilimanjaro, a relaxing few days in Zanzibar is exactly what I needed. This hotel does the trick. It is very quiet and had fantastic views from our oceanview room. WHat you get for the cost is pretty great. The rooms are fairly basic but have everything you need: hot water, cable tv with a few english channels, mosquito net, very comfy bed and pillows. There are also fresh fish options almost every day! The fisherman bring their catch to the restaurant and they cook it to your liking which was really really tasty! WIfi is actually pretty decent. I was able to skype and facetime easily. The WIfi is mainly in the dining area but our room was right next to the dining area so I got a decent signal in my room which was great. Cons: no Aircon, breakfast is just ok and needs a little revamp, no alcohol served due to waiting on liquor license The lack of Aircon was actually not bad due to a great breeze coming into our room from the ocean and the ceiling fan. The alcohol isnt a big issue either bc directly next door is a little restaurant with good food and serves really yummy cocktails and beer. No real nightlife but there are supposedly fun places within a 5min walk. You can also walk just behind the hotel to the little Jambiani village and get fresh fruit and snacks during the day. A taxi from the airport was arranged by Said, the hotel manager and cost $32.Said was always around and helped us with everything we needed or asked for. He also arranged a local woman to come for massage. She did a pretty good job and for $12 per hour, you cant really beat it. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet stay and is great for couples, not families. Bring Bug Spray!!! The mosquitoes are bad in the evening in Zanzibar. The hotel can spray your room in the evening as well. I highly suggest it so you dont end up trapping one of the devil creatures in your mosquito net before you go to bed ;-)
A fantastic beach view hotel!”
This was our second time at Jambiani White Sand Bungalows and it was a great visit once again. The staff was very nice and helpful and the overall experience is amazing. Jambiani is not overwhelmed by tourists but there are still plenty of little restaurants to visit up and down the beach. If you want to party this may not be the place for you.
Great stay, excellent staff!”
Great Place for holidays!”
We had a great time during our journey and relaxed a lot! Everything is clean and maintained very well. Also a kite spot is very close and the conditions were great.
Very cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, on the beach”
It was fantastic! Very relaxing!”
WE really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The location was perfect and the time of year we were there was perfect as well. It was a very relaxing two days and just what we needed. Hope to return soon!
Friendly Romantic resort”
The resort is a small resort, right on the beautiful beach of Jambiani. The rooms are small but comfortable. The staff is young and friendly. The restaurant is fine although it sells no alcoholic drinks.
