Bad facilities bad servicing.”
bad service And bad facilities old rooms and missing aircon. First room shower door crush with the floor , tap water broken , aircon swing broken , not internet signal. After complain tranfer to another room No aircon at all , promise fun but no have also, room very hot, also can’t get wifi internet signal only near the door. Breakfast very poor and bad I Only ask for eggs to go but outside and eat , but they also want to charge extra fee for extra eggs Shampoo also very cheap. 1 small bottle per day. When ask extra they are very cheap and only give 1 or 2 more. Shower gel and shampoo is 1 bottle only. By end I bought shampoo outside. Every request , towel or shampoo or anything else, take Long time. Also most of the time the help Desk not availiable to answer calls
Good location, clean in the room but wifi is weakness
Nice property not meant if you mean busisness ”
Hi very close to airport , nice neat n clean rooms I had got room in 4 floor ultra modern bathrooms and nice staff . However if you want some peace after a day long work it’s not happening here since afternoon the place is packed with smokers and drinkers something like3 pm afternoon . The way to the reception becomes a challenge . The staff at cafe is not bothered much to refill the stuff though the breakfast was good with Ethiopian food . Sat night the music was rocking the building . The room sound proofing is horrible . The next room guys switches on kettle in night and you are up hearing the sound of steam it’s that loud . If you need a nice peaceful place after work this is not but if a person to party hard ideal place . Also it for nOt have enough sofa / chairs if you want to invite some one for meetings got to go outside garden bar area ., which may not be ideal
They only gives us one plate of egg products. Shower room will be like flood after use.
My wife are I were staying here on business in Ethiopia. When checking out after the first four days they demanded extra pay for the nights they said an extra 'local' woman had been staying in our room. They outrightly accused us of this, which we vehemently denied and asked for any proof of their accusation. They stuck to their story for over an hour then finally retracted it. We felt sick to our stomach and can never recommend this hotel. When we returned a couple days later for a one night stay, already paid for on Agoda, they again apologized and offered us a free dinner. Then after the dinner the manager demanded we pay for the beer and glass of wine we had. How disgusting! When we asked to talk to the manager they told us he had gone home, but some minutes later we saw him walking around. Totally outside the limits of good service. Otherwise the outdoor patio is nice for a drink and food.
Good hotel for business”
Nice staff, good service, rooms are clean and comfortable.
Oasis in the CBD of Bole, Addis”
The differentiating aspect for the Monarch is that is not situated directly on the street front thus allowing for lush vegetation around the pool side and entertainment/ bar area. The staff is very friendly and service orientated.
Was just there for transit and I found it pleasing. I did not have any plans to walk around but it seems that the surroundings are safe.Very near the airport and the staff are friendly. If anything to improve on is the food...a bit pricey but kind of low in quality. But for 1 night stay, its bearable.
Good location with happening atmosphere. Hotel has good amenities.
Overall a good choice”
Very good location, close to airport, malls, bars and clubs. Staff great. Breakfast good. Good, lively bar, with live music often.
Heart of Addis Ababa”
the hotel located in the center of Addis Ababa. I stayed one night to transfer my flight. the hotel was clean and comfortable to stay. the hotel crews are kind and helpful. I want to stay the hotel again, if I visit Addis Ababa.
Good value for the price and a good location for the visitor to Addis Ababa. Short drive to the Airport and in the middle of many restaurants and bars. The breakfast buffet is excellent and a mix of Ethiopian and western options. The staff are very friendly and helpful. As a bonus, Café Rigel, directly across the street has the best lattes I have ever had.
Good hotel location, hotel shuttle is available ”
Only toilet is need to improve n renew.
great 4 star hotel”
My stay couldn't have been better. Well received on arrival and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and obliging with lovely smiles. The duty manager was especially helpful and personable and it was a pleasure to meet again when returning from lalibela.
very good hotel”
It's good in general ”
Heavy Name, poor service.”
Unfortunately, the Monarch did not live up to its name. It was the eighth hotel we stayed at during our recent tour of Ethiopia and was meant to have been the highlight of our stay in Addis at the conclusion of our visit. We arrived after a five day land tour of Bale and the Rift valley and the first thing was that their x-ray machine was not large enough for our luggages to pass through, so they had to open them and do a manual check in the open which was tedious. Fortunately it was not raining, but what happens when it is? Then it was the room: we had asked for a non-smoking room, but they did not seem to have a policy on non-smoking and keeping at least some rooms for non-smokers. The only room they found us was a little hovel overlooking a building site. It as was not the room grade we had paid four. The only way was to have a room that was wreaking of cigarette smoke. We spent the next four days with the door to verandah open day and night to try and air it
fine hotel but noisy”
the hotel itself is decent. food at restaurant is fine also, but the breakfast is very poor. swimming pool makes the dining environment pleasant. however, the noisy of street dogs behind the building made me unable to sleep at all. i'm serious about the dogs barking in the midnights. it's likely 100-dog orchestra!
not bad hotel”
It is ok in general , to exspunsive
