Cheating! Do not believe in the website posted rooms picture”
Booked it during the promotion offer and by looking it from the rooms pictures, it is very nice and clean and even with windows. Well, when checking in was told the room is no window and is and lower deck. When requesting for upper floor(cost added), with windows(cost added)!!! And the lady boss is very unfriendly! Advise is not to book this Hotel, don't spoil your holidays mood.

Didn’t Honor My Paid Reservation”
When I arrived, I was told that the hotel had no open rooms and was walked to another hotel and offered a room the size of a closet with no bathroom. I was four months pregnant, traveling with my toddler and the hotel had no elevator. I told the individual that this would be very difficult for me to manage lugging my luggage and stroller up and down stairs. He then asked me to pay more for a nicer room. It was late; I was very tired and ended up just accepting the room so I could get some rest.

Unprofessional. I wasnt given a key because they only had one so they had to open the door for me every time I returned. Also my room was right next to reception which was awkward and noisy. Not 3 stars and is overpriced

You get what you pay for”
Cheap! Decent Location.
It is as I mentioned, you get what you pay for. They have a "no toilet paper flushing" rule so the bathroom was a little stinky when we arrived, the room had quite a bit of wear and tear and the beds were pretty hard, however if you aren't looking for anything more than a roof over your head and a bed then this hotel should be okay. If you are looking for more in your hotel, this is not the right place for you. The location is decent in the sense that it is three blocks from the subway station, however it was a little difficult to find initially. My taxi driver from the airport had to drop me off a block away due to the narrow alley that it is in. I sort of liked staying in a hutong, because you sort of got a feeling for the local life, however I don't know if I would describe it as aesthetically pleasing . On most of the sites I encountered, this hotel was indicated to have an English speaking staff, however if you don't speak Chinese, I would recommend bringing a phrasebook or using google translate because I only encountered one staff member (on my last day) who spoke and understood English well. Whenever we wanted to get into our room, we needed to gain access via the front desk. When we asked for a key, they gave us a key that did not work. This was not a problem for the most part, however one evening despite my friend's need to use the bathroom, the night clerk just stared at us and would not let us in for a few minutes mentioning in chinese that we had been drinking. That however was the only unpleasant experience we had with the staff, all other requests were handled cordially and timely.

Good location (once you find it), Excellent staff”
Staff, hutong-style, location
I cannot praise the local staff enough. They were very accommodating, as I'd been living in Beijing for a year-and-a-half and had many bags, which they held for a day after my stay. They upgraded my room from economy to suite without charge, because it was the slow season. They were all super nice, though I speak little Chinese, and they spoke no English as far as I could tell. My Chinese friend was there as interpreter. Rooms are nice though old, clean enough. I'm not a very picky person, as I've traveled many places, the conditions of which are far from cleanly, but I think this hotel was quite nice for the price. The lobby is aesthetically pleasing, with the umbrella hung ceiling, and though it's in a hutong, which means taxi drivers grumble to drive the narrow roads, it's not a far walk to the main road. Maybe five minutes, and there are a lot of inexpensive local restaurants along the way. I'd recommend to anyone who is trying to do Beijing on the cheap, because it's a great location - Houhai and the Forbidden City are near enough to cab to for a decent price.

budget hotel in great central location”
close to many sights, local environment, price.
this hotel was good enough for my holiday. It's a good place for if you just need somewhere cheap to sleep. I stayed in the cheapest room: so some rooms don't have windows and some rooms have some mould/ need a paint job but it was cleaned regularly. but I think they have different kinds of rooms. the staff I met didn't speak English so you may want to consider that. good public transport and walking distance from some main hotspots (if you don't mind a longish walk).
