Hidden gem...excellent staff...great views!”
First off, this hotel is right in the city, and once you are there—it is a bit like being in your own palace. The rooms are very nice, excellent new bathrooms and the AC was great. The main hotel staff is first-rate! The restaurant is a little slow, so be patient.

Comfortable stay”
The accommodation is nestled in the heart of the shopping street. It has a rustic feel to it. Power shortages are common and sometimes the water supply gets turned off mid-day. The staff however, are kind enough to get things up and running as soon as you inform them of these issues. If you need a 5-star accommodation with buffet breakfast, i would not recommend this place. But if you're looking for a more localized feel, this would be a great place to stay.

Great traditional Haveli ”
Situated within a 10 min walk of the city gates in a bazaar type area, this is a good opportunity to stay in a wonderfully traditional Haveli offering tranquil surroundings, and clean, comfortable and quirky rooms. They are not luxurious and aspects of them are basic, but overall represent good value for money, especially during off season when we went.

Authentic, beautiful and tasty”
We only stayed for one night but he hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We booked the suite which was located at rooftop level. Plenty for room, great bathroom, soft beds and great details in the decoration. Flexible with checkout which was great since we arrive very early morning (came in with the 6 am train)

Not recommend”
i believed price for this hotel isn t reasonable at all. Room- Not dirty but still not clean. Staff-they nagged me all the time(till night when i am taking a rest) just because they not found my booking number. It was very annoying. And after staying a few days this area, i realized that most of hotels here are much better than here(price, sfaff, room conditions, food) hahahaha -Specially the owner of hotel so arrogant- rude when he ask something. He should do that attitude toward his own staffs.( i am not work for him. Hahaha) Like investment of police. But indeed it has good location. (The only point) Not recommend

The Building, Location and friendly staff
It is nice central part of town. It is on a busy square but due to the thickness of the stone walls you can sleep like a baby. Shame that breakfast menu was large but only a very few items were available.

Room for improvement”
Location, room decoration, hotel adaption from a Havila
We were surprise by the location and the set up is this hotel. Impreseds by the decoration which was in keeping of the style of the period. Everything (sight seeing) are within walking distance from the hotel. However, staff are not train properly and the management need to improve to make this hotel a more comfortable stay. We stayed 2 nights, room was not made up after the 1st night's stay. No soap holder Hot water need time to warm up. Laundry service took a long time to be ready. Chair cushions dirty with bird poo in courtyard. It was such la ovely courtyard. Complimentary water bottle suppose to be there but missing. Order tea for room took a long time to be delivered. Staff need training definitely

location
As it was paid for had no choice but to stay on.besides the locatiin nothing good about the place. For the rate we expected better rooms & service. Very dusty unclean small beds & rooms. were so smelly it was impossible to sleep. Changed to room no smell bt sink was blocked. Even dining facilities & food was not good.will not recomend for any price. Staff was polite but seemed most disinterested. Have seen cheaper & better kept hotels.

Excellent stay”
Food, ambiance, staff
Nachana Haveli is one of the best places to stay when in Jaisalmer. It is located inside the citadel complex (but not inside the fort premises), provides a brilliant illuminated view of the golden fortress from the terrace, creates a rustic yet unique ambiance and offers brilliant food. We stayed at the suite located on the terrace, which had a sitting area and a bedroom; the bathroom was very spacious and the over all 'red' theme in the room creates an extremely unique surrounding. The hotel offers excellent food; one must definitely try Lal Maas and the Jungli Chicken that they prepare. Good breakfast spread too. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful and so was the hotel management. Highly recommended for a stay.

an awful experience”
rude, dirty, dark
we spent three nights at nachana haveli during our three month trip through india and it was by far the worst experience we had. the rooms are dank, dirty and without natural light, the price is disproportionately higher than other hotels in jaisalmer and the staff (especially at the front desk) are incredibly rude. no doubt, if you’ve read the guide to india, this review might seem confusing. about the wonderful rooms, the incredible service and the ability to ‘hang with friendly and hip elite’. but then the reviews don’t seem consistent with this. if you, like us, are usually more inclined to believe a guidebook’s review (occasionally varying) comments, then please, learn from our mistake. we can’t explain affection for this place, except perhaps that everything has changed since they have been there. it really is awful. the rooms are old, dirty and entirely without windows. the location isn’t convenient (there are places far closer and nicer to the fort that you can choose, even if you’re unwilling - as we were - to stay in the sadly decaying fort). the staff are rude and are constantly trying to sell you onto their camel tours, but not every time you come back to your hotel from a walk) and, worse, get ruder still when you tell them you’re not interested in a camel tour. the restaurant upstairs has a travelling band that doesn’t play any music. they literally just click and clap menacingly at your table, getting closer and closer until they are hovering above you. they don’t have instruments - they just click and clap aggressively until you give them enough money for them to go and harass other diners. and despite complaints from numerous tables, the staff stood by and watched. at least they were having a good time. please, do yourself a favour and avoid this place.
