Fantastic service and property.”
I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The property is amazing and food section was good as vast and good as well. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Truly enjoyed my stay here with my family. Would definitely come back again and also recommend friends and family.
The only good thing about this resort is the location and it's beach. Service is pathetic, staff don't seem to know their job and just can't be bothered to serve. Room is so run down. More like a 3 start resort.
Beautiful hotel with great facilities. The only downfall was the restaurant service. Service is slow and the waiters do not seem to know anything. The male waiters at the bar club were cold and not really helpful. Dont understand why they kept asking to keep my plates when im still eating. Inexperienced staff.
The facilities are old and used. I have a broken glass which has been sitted at the corner of the bathroom for 3 days without being collected. They allow birds to fly inside and nested in the restaurant and the staff won't do anything even the birds stand on the buffet table and eating the bread until the guest scare them off . the air conditioning unit in the room is not working properly and they never try to fix it during my stay. The location is good as we have rented a car ourselves.
Great stay ”
We stayed at outrigger four days for our honeymoon with the honeymoon package. Included was a 30 minute couple massage, 1 bottle of sparkling and pineapple as well as 1 romantic Dinner on the beach. We had a very warm welcome and the whole hotel is very nice. The beach is just as you imagine it with great snorkeling opportunities right in front of you. We had a car which we would recommend if staying on the island since smaller towns and sights can easily be reached without expensive taxies. Le Morne mountain is just 20 minutes away and if you want a little adventure just hike up there. The only downside at the resort were the annoying bird sounds coming from a sound machine to scare off other birds. We sometimes even heard it at the beach. Do not know if the sound itself is really necessary...
Beautiful room with beach front, wonderful view, great bath and good service. ”
Need to rent car otherwise have to spent a lot of money for taxi and missing discover beautiful land of Mauritius. If total prices over 160 USD per night is still too expensive for room if think about the value of money but maybe is high season.
Beautiful hotel ”
This is the No. 1 Resort Hotel so far I had visited in Mauritius, the beautiful beach front and the luxury hotel room. All hotel staff are very helpful and always come to you with a good smile. You will enjoy everything here.
We only had 1 night in outrigger as our last night in Mauritius, the room was lovely and had a balcony right out to the beach. room was large in size and had everything we needed, would come back again
not 5 star ”
Just got back from another great trip to Mauritius but sadly the Outrigger was not the highlight and certainly not a keeper. What was advertised as a Delux Double Room "with sea view" had no sea view - off to the side of the pool area and behind a water slide . Room was ok. Staff seem disengaged/unenthusiastic about their jobs. Breakfasts were decent. Feral pigeons are a problem and ignore the ear splitting recorded fake bird of prey call which may once have acted as a deterrent. Outrigger's Edgewater and Bar Bleu are substandard for a 5 star hotel by any measure of quality, service and value. Did I mention meals and drinks are hugely overpriced compared to much more upmarket options down the beach! From the initial feeling of the reception area to the many broken mismatched tiles around the pool area, sand pathways, cheap furniture and the visible lack of maintenance, you realise this is not 5 star. Feels cheap and struggling. Better places to stay in paradise!
Have a gala time”
The resort is well maintained, beautiful landscaping, lovely beach, free water sports and lovely huge rooms. Food is slightly overpriced but it's worth considering how the polite staff compensates. Must stay in Mauritius.
A lovely stay ”
Perfect location for us as we preferred to stay away from the main tourist areas and also to be closer to the nature such a Le Mourne, the National Park, Seven Coloured Earth, all of which worth a visit. The resort was very green and has a very natural and tropical feeling to it, which I personally liked a lot. We stayed in the ocean view room. The room was very spacious with balcony and a huge dressing area including the bathroom, toilet. The decor of the room was welcoming, the pillow and bedding was luxurious, however the bed itself seemed like it had its bed better day as it sank in the middle. The toilet itself is located in a windowless room, from which we noticed an unpleasant smell as soon as we arrived, we had to keep the toilet door open during our entire stay to lessen the smell. 3 restaurants in the resort, our meals were not included, we only ate there a few times, they were extremely pricey for some very mediocre food. It was a very good stay overall.
The resort is good, but it is overpriced for what they offer”
Got a half-board package and that should have covered breakfast and dinner. For dinner, my options were limited to 2 restaurants in the complex and a credit towards the third (Plantation Club) which covered only (barely) half of the meal. The Edgewater would be limited to non-seafood dishes and the buffet still charges for basic drinks like juices and sparkling water. I understand charging for alcoholic beverages, but for RS1600 a head per meal, non-alcoholic beverages should be included. Finally, the resort has some issues regarding usability. The room had no way to clean the sand before getting into the room and the beach access can only be unlocked from inside and therefore, needs to go all the way around to come back to the room.
Staff was amazing and the place excellent. The only thing we could not change was the wind which was normaal for.this time of the year, but just went to a different side of the resort and it was better. Over all would go again and recomend it.
Definitely the best vacation in Mauritius!”
Situated at Bel Ombre which is bit far away from the town. The resort provided good variety of breakfast selection, complete resort facilities and approachable staffs. Love their professional housekeeping service!
The hotel room is clean and very spacious with a lovely bath tub. Very big shower and bath room. The beach and the swimming pool is wonderful! Have to mention that their breakfast buffet is amazing, good quality food. Must try the flying dodo beer, I can hardly get it anywhere in Mauritius but you can get it in Outrigger :D We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, highly recommend it.
Room needs refurbishing”
Beautiful position right on the beach, good food & tranquil We stayed in a junior suite, it is spacious but there was damp on the walls, and the decor is out dated The room was depressing The plantation club was fabulous & the staff was great
The resort is excellent; very nice rooms and good service + good water sport activities. Especially the garden pool area is lovely but few more umbrellas could be added next to the sunbeds. The food in the restaurants is good and rather expensive compared to the price range in other parts of the island or e.g. in northern Europe. :)
Simply breath taking”
the resort is the best place to unwind and me n my wife enjoyed it a lot. the food specially breakfast has a lot of variety. however, for vegetarians the menu has limited options in lunch n dinner. we liked the plantation club rrstaurant very much. overall a good place to stay with natural beauty all around.
Amazing Stay at Outrigger”
We had taken the Beach View room. Pros - Large room with big bath tub - Scenic view of Beach direct from room - very nice food - clean - friendly staff - good Beach facilities Cons - Very expensive food - TV was old and didn't have video playback from USB Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice and peaceful time in Mauritius. It is located on the South West coast so it is very calm and has beautiful Scenic views on the roads leading to nearby villages and tourist attractions. For food, you can have breakfast at the hotel and lunch and dinner at nearby restaurants which are at cycling/motorable distances as food is over priced in the hotel. The restaurants in South close by 7:30/8:00 so plan accordingly. It is best to rent a car and roam around in Mauritius.
Outrigger or "Outstanding" ”
The hotel experience was really outstanding. The beautiful beach front room and the luxury hotel. The breakfast was good and plenty, like typical resort food. The restaurants were all very good, but Plantation club was amazing (beautiful place where you can admire the moon with candle lights and a tasty meal). All hotel staff are very helpful and always come to you with a good smile. In Special to Anoup, who welcomed us and assisted us in everything until the checkout... doing everything possible. You will really enjoy everything here. If I can use one word to describe Outrigger, would be OUTSTANDING.
