Birthday trip for my 21 year old daughter”
I booked this as part of a bigger trip as a gift for my daughter's 21st birthday so her views on the stay were very important to me. It didn't let me down in any way. A tranquil haven within Marrakesh. The Riad is fabulous and that is mirrored by the staff. It was a joy.
My wife and I recently spent our honeymoon at the Riad Kheirrendine (RK). On the day of our arrival, we were collected from the airport, dropped off at a taxi rank within the old city walls and met by one of the Riad night guardian's who walked us through the maze of alleys to the Riad. We were then given a mobile phone, to use if we got lost, found ourselves in trouble or returned to the Riad at night to call for collection at the taxi rank. This kind of setup is absolutely normal for Riads located in the old city (the area where you find all of the souks, markets and have your crazy Marrakesh adventures). Marrakesh takes a day or two to adjust to, but once you find your feet, you will feel quite comfortable. The Riad itself is absolutely beautiful, the rooms all have their own character and on our second day, we were upgraded to a larger room when it became available. This was a nice touch and the new room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a few romantic days together. Throughout our stay the staff did everything possible to ensure we felt special and enjoyed our stay with them. This was probably the best service I have experienced. Anything that we wanted, the Riad ensured we got it. There service went a long way and the experience was fantastic. Any activities we wanted to book, restaurants, excursions, the front desk were always there to help. One afternoon we booked a local spa and were guided all the way to the spa front door (15 minute walk through the maze) by one of the RK staff. When we arrived, the spa staff knew it was our honeymoon and treated us incredibly well, again thanks to the RK Staff. The only negative and please do not let this put you off booking RK (because you will be missing out), is that they are currently extending the Riad, so there was some noise from construction during the day. But as I say, don't let that put you off. All the team at RK are great and I can't recommend this Riad enough!
