Riga City Center hotels & places to stay

I traveled to the Balkans, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Helsinki. I wanted to be around snow for the holidays. Riga, Latvia is this review PROS: The Staff was very nice an accommodating. The room was upgraded and quite big. This hotel was well placed just 5 minute walk to the city center and Christmas Market. The Breakfast was good and diverse. CONS: The hotel is in a good location relative to how far from City Center BUT it is sandwiched between several PUBS and they go from 4 am. You will hear nightly loud music and partying and drunks outside til 5 am. I have lived in the city and was able to drown it out but for those who are light sleepers, this may not be the place for you. I was only here for 3 nights so tolerable but any longer I would have booked another hotel.

This is a middle class hotel not far away from old town. Good value for money, but not fancy. It's not in the center, but if you like a short walk through nice surroundings, it's allright.

all was very good, good location,very nice and helpful employees, very good location, nice atmosphere, the room was big enough and the design was nice. The price was fair, but not very cheap, the workers helped with our needs. Riga is a nice city.We were lucky to see Carmina Burana at the ciry square. Nice coffee houses and music. all is very livley and good weather. the taxi driver took too much money from us.

I was looking for hotel in Riga witch is easy to reach by car and with indoor parking. This hotel matched perfectly to my needs. Location is perfect, you can get to old town just in few minutes walking. View is absolutely fantastic from higher levels, breakfast is generous and staff really helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay (3 nights) at the Pullman Hotel. The hotel was very nice, spacious rooms, good facilities, superb breakfast and very well located in the center of old town. I can really recommend this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel while visiting Riga and it was a great experience. The staff, especially Kristiana, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has been recently renovated and is very tasteful with a stunning atrium. The dining room is also gorgeous with wonderful views from the window and our bedroom was very pretty! The location in the Old Town means it's easy to go sight seeing. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel is right across Riga train station. The rooms are good sized, new and clean. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Good place to explore Riga old town (about 10 mins walk away).

The Old Riga Palace Hotel is right in the middle of The Old Town. The number 22 Airport bus stops within a few minutes walk of the hotel. No need for taxi - the bus is only 0.50 Lats. The staff are all friendly from reception through to room service and breakfast staff. Talking of breakfast this is amazing. A full buffet with hot and cold and sweet and savoury. There is also sparkling wine and vodka shots - it's just perfect. Riga was cold when I visited with snow on the ground and a little more falling. My room was really warm and cosy and the Wifi was great. I had TV, safe, ensuite and a well stocked mini bar which unlike most hotels was very well priced. No wonder it scores so highly in reviews.

There was a nice contrast entering the calm lobby from the busy street. The big shoppingmall and several bars and restaurants are situated just outside the hotel but although the street was quite busy you hardly noticed the noise once inside. A calm and pleasant oasis rigt in the middle of the best part of Riga.

This is the place to stay! Our three night stay, from check in to departure, was well above our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious, the gym/sauna much appreciated, and the location excellent for anything one might want to do downtown Riga. We enjoyed both the hotel and it's surroundings. Unfortunately we did not eat in the restaurant, but since the knowledgable and friendly bartender was a part of the great team that is at Ridzene, we are convinced that the experience would have been excellent with a wonderful staff and selection also in F&B. We booked a massage for our last afternoon on Riga. This service was much appreciated, and it was great not having to leave the hotel for this. Excellent work Ridzene! We will definitly return next time we are in Riga.

I had a really nice and enjoyable stay at PK Riga Hotel. It's clean, modern and comfortable.It's also not very far from the city centre. I will certainly consider this hotel on my next trip to Riga.

We had a fantastic weekend in Riga, and where happy to spend quite some time at the hotel, the restaurant, spa area and the room itself. February was apparently far from tourist season, so neither the Old Town or the hotel was crowded. We where able to use the spa with sauna and steam bath whenever we wanted. A great restaurant with fantastic food and service, and they supplied us with gluten free food on request. We'll stay at Neiburgs next time as well.

The Naughty Squirrel was one of the nicer hostels I've stayed in. The staff was excellent. The welcome that we got gave a terrific first impression which positively influenced the rest of the trip. The room was small but comfortable. The only real problem was that it was very hot and there was no A/C in the room, but upon asking for a fan, we were given one and it made a difference. This hosel is good for any type of traveller, whether it be solo, couple or somebody looking for a good time in Riga...there were a lot of friendly people at the hostel. The hostel is also in an incredibly convenient location, located not only near various attractions within the city, but also within a short walk away from public transportation and the main bus station of Riga. I would without any hesitation recommend this place to anybody considering a visit to Riga.

The hotel is closed to the old town and also to the center. It’s quiet and the rooms are nice. The staff are fantastic. We were leaving at 4.30am and they prepared breakfast for us . Great hotel

If your main priority is a nights sleep this is not suitable, if you want to socialise then I suppose its very cosy and friendly. Staff very friendly and willing to help.

I traveled by myself for 3 days and stayed here in the single room; it is in a wonderful location in the city, but not near all the noise. There is a wonderful cafe/cafeteria next door called Cafe 22 that I ate at several times -- excellent already prepared food (Russian/Latvian cuisines) and reasonable prices. The hostel is well lit, my room was very nice and sunny, and the overall atmosphere was casual and friendly. The manager was cheerful and fun to talk to; the only issue I had with this place was that there is only one toilet on the floor and it's tiny. I am not a big person and I had a very hard using the toilet. So the design of the bathroom was not well thought out. I didn't use the shower because I went to the gym everyday and used the shower there; despite the problem with the toilet room, I would definitely stay here again for the location, friendliness, and for the cheerful, bright single room.

The hotel was located in the center therefore everything was within walking distance, including the bus station. However I got the private room on the second floor, which as far as I see there was only another room (4 beds room) but somehow the bathroom in my floor was always occupied by more than 5 people. I guess people on the first floor also used bathroom on the second floor, in that case I think the hotel should have more bathrooms / toilets.

Excellent location. Close to all attractions, bus depot, supermarkets, shopping malls and department store. Take Bus 22 from the airport and get off at the Autoosta stop. It’s literally 5 mins walk to the hotel once you know the way using the tunnel. Riga Central Market is about 6 mins walk also using the tunnel. The Hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean and functional. Nice staff and lovely breakfast everyday. Would stay again if I return to Riga.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, near the bus and railway station. Great variety of food on breakfast! Definitely will choose this hotel if I visit Riga again!

Pros: Its right above mcdonalds, opp freedom monument which is bordering the old town so location tops off everything. Rooms and showers are new and clean Cons: since its right beside one of the main roads it can still be noisy on the street at night that will disturb your sleep (i was on the 4th floor). So perhaps ask for a room that is NOT facing the street will be better. Walls are pretty thin too so it was so easy to be waken up by your neighbours unfortunately. They have laundry serivces which i think might be slightly overpriced (eur5 for cleaning, another eur5 for drying).

We lost our luggage upon arrival at Riga airport and the staff is so kind to offer assistance to follow up for us. Special thanks to Edgner (hope I didn’t remember his name wrong), super helpful and much appreciated!!

From the minute I arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well furnished and spacious. Breakfast was fresh and a good variety for a boutique hotel. The location is in the heart of the old city of Riga. An unfortunate problem was the jackhammer on the opposite street at 2 in the morning! Other than that it was easy to reach the buses, trains and shops. I would stay here again.

The Location was superb, just in the city center, within walking distance of everything, and a bus stop next to it (handy when going to the airport), staff was very kind, and 24h kitchen was a huge plus. The rooms were spacious enough (more than the average hostel/bed&breakfast) and the beds comfortable. Shared bathroom was clean and with all facilities. Really enjoyed the stay!

First-rate hotel in the old town section of Riga. Beautifully appointed historic hotel with attentive staff, nice rooms, and attractive public spaces. Breakfast room can get crowded and there is a cigar bar off the lobby which can get a bit noisy. Ask to reserve sauna and steam room in the basement: great way to reinvigorate

We stayed in Design appartments for one night and we'd stay there even for a week, because everything was very good, flat was big enough and cosy, it was very well maintained. There was a place for four people, and even for two it was a bargain. Definetely recommend.

It was the worst hotel bed we have ever slept in, you could feel the springs poking through the mattress. Very old and small TV with really bad reception, not even with a remote control. The wooden blinds were not working. Room furniture and interior in general was old and very far from being a 'design hotel'. However, the staff was very helpful and kind, location was great and the breakfast was very good, too.

Stayed at the Hotel for one night at the end of July in room 210. Location was spot on, based on a quiet side street, not far from the city enter and old town. Room had enough space for my needs. WIFI worked perfectly and the internet speed was great. Included breakfast was a bonus for the price. The guy on reception was really helpful and even printed my flight ticket for me. Very pleased with the stay

Right in the heart of old town Riga. Comfortable rooms and beds. Great shower and bath facilities. Building construction underway but did not bother or disturb us at night. Kitchen facilities were very poor. We were a group of six adults travelling together for four weeks. We have booked three bedroom apartments for all our stays. We wanted an apartment so we could have coffee and breakfast together in the morning before heading out for the day. All apartments have had good kitchen facilities and utensils coffee maker. Noble House however was very inadequate in kitchen facilities. Broken coffee maker. No toaster. Few cooking utensils. Only one large pot for cooking. The owner / manager really needs to up his game.
