River House Lodge Malalane - SENSATIONAL”
had spent 22 nights in Kruger Park so were looking for somewhere to relax and take it easy. have stayed here before and made a point of returning. owner, 'managers' and staff were very helpful, friendly and fun to be around. the accommodation is the best guest house we've stayed in. Clean rooms, large open public areas that are filled with so many interesting, unusual and quirky items, three days was not long enough to see them all. breakfast and lunch and the accompanying service are first rate. HIGHLY recommended.
Nice place with plenty of character over looking a hippo filled river. Ideal for going on safari from. With the Owner sorting the day out for us..room a little on the small side, but didn't spend much time in it. Would go again
Disappointing...and HIDDEN FEES! ”
Cons: very old rooms, quite quirky and dark, food really not worth the money (dinner is way too expensive for what it is, and the breakfast is simply not good...!). Pros: location, warm welcome, nice terrace **Be careful!! The host charges HIDDEN FEES by adding 10% on every single thing - safari, food, drinks and rooms. Nothing was mentioned on Agoda nor on the guesthouse website. We discovered it at the end of the week, on our bill. We had to argue with the host to get our money back.** **We were a bit disappointed with the safari. We think it was a bit expensive for what it is and our guide was quite rude. There are probably better deals with other companies than the one the guesthouse is hooked up with.
Great value for the money!”
Great location, looking out over the river and seeing all the wild animals was amazing. Johan was a kind and generous host. Good breakfast included. So close to the park. Wonderful swimming pool, couldn't of asked for more.
