The place, the people, the ambiance is simply amazing. We met new friends and the owner was most accommodating. The hotel is 5 mins from the surf spot and offers amazing amenities to all kinds of travelers. We will go back!

Central to everything. Staff can`t do enough to help and the little bar/restaurant is a good place to relax and get a good feed. Will stay there again on my next visit.

Disorganized Staff”
i upgraded my room to 1BR from bunk beds and paid the changes upon arrival but when i was checking out they forbid me saying i still need to pay the difference. I tried so hard and many times explained the situation to the staff but all she was saying was that per their manager i still did not pay it. They could have already validated it when i showed them my receipt that it was already paid and i couldn't have faked it. Also, they should have called the receptionist in charged when i paid during the 1st day and not almost make me late on my flight.

One Of Siargao's Very Budget-friendly Hotel With A Very Convenient Location ”
Definitely a good choice for those who are traveling on their own. I got to meet a lot of people during my stay here. A lot of tourists encounter lack of water supply and even having to deal with a power outage, but luckily, during my stay in Villa Solaria, I did not experience any of these inconveniences. Be reminded though that their front desk does not run for 24 hours so, should you have a really, really late check-in, it's best to inform them ahead of time. The location is also very strategic as it's right in the middle of GL's best food finds and nightlife. Right across it is Aventino's Pizza and Pasta and is in the middle of Harana and Siargao Bleu which has really, really good food and drinks.

Decent”
Booked in at the dorm style, shared bedroom. Bed is so-so, the only pillow provided is severely crushed already. There's a ceiling fan, but the wind from it barely reaches the bed because of the mosquito net and the blanket for privacy, which blocks the wind which makes it slightly uncomfortable You're lucky if you get one of the beds near the wall fan. That seems to be a more effective ventilation. Overall, not so bad.

Villa Solaria is a great place for Solo travellers. Thought I'll be lonely since it's my first time travelling alone but no, it was the opposite. I met new friends, thanks to their common area! The owner is very nice, you can talk to him about Siargao and other stuffs. Solaria is a walking distance from Cloud 9 so you can save money for paying the habal-habal. You can cook at their kitchen and get hot water for free for your coffee. Overall, I'm happy that I chose Villa Solaria. Thanks Paul and staff for my wonderful stay.

Very comfortable stay”
We were not able to get the room we booked because there were a lot of guests that time. Sir Pal had to check and consider other options. Fortunately he found a great room for all of us and we had a comfortable place to spend 5 nights. We just had to endure 2 nights of water supply shortage but the villa managed to provide enough gallons of water so we can all take a decent bath, etc. it's a great place to stay in Siargao, i promise! 🙂

This place is ideal to stay if you’re traveling on a tight-budget. However, it really comes with the price, the bed is okay but it needs proper ventilation, specially at noon, its very humid. Though its an open place, the air is not enough. There are electric fans but they placed it on a high ceiling to the point where their guests would not be able to feel the air coming from the electric fan anymore. And their staff... it feels like you’re not welcome to stay there. They are not accommodating us. Specially the wife of the owner. She’s so rude. She only put a smile on her face whenever she’s talking to a foreign guest, but with a local guest, she’s very rude. And they could’ve at least give their drinking water for free, but you still have to pay 25pesos every refill. And they don’t provide free padlocks for their lockers, you have to buy it for 50pesos.

CONS: There was POOR electricity supply. Our room did not even got to cool for three days because the electricity keep on switching off. Every other hour, there’s water interruption! I wouldn’t mind bathing in unclear and salty water, but having not to bathe at all, after swimming and doing outside activities under the scorching heat of the sun? No. PROS: The location is excellent! Very close to restaurants and bars. The staff tried to help to the best of their abilities. The room is nice, theme coordinated, and spacious, although not as clean as you would want it to be.

PROs: Common Space Free use of kitchen and fridge Restaurant - expensive food though Clean restroom Free cabinet - bring your own padlock Early check-in Close to Harana Bar and 5-10 min walk to Cloud9 CONs: Spotty wifi Lots of mosquitoes No water after 10pm I think you’ll find better accommodation nearby.

Our stay is good overall but water was only available during the first day due to issues on main line water source. The owner and the staff are very accommodating anyways and they made sure they provide water supply although we can't help but be guilty for taking a bath with mineral water for 3 days. Good thing though the water got fixed on our last day so we were able to take a decent shower before leaving the place.

Cons - Area outside the dorm was always wet and dirty, had water and power shortages a few times, they also turn off water after 11pm. Leaking rain water in the room, and couches in common areas were pretty dirty. Pros - shower was decent (when working... and despite yellowish water), ac worked well, staff was helpful booking a shuttle to airport and arranging motorbike rental.
