Waikiki Zanzibar Resort
Rooms very clean and reasonably priced, staff unprofessional from manager to reception and waiters ”
Great location, staff have no clue how to handle guests, not rude but extremely unprofessional. I was asked for my passport details whilst having dinner by the receptionist who forgot during check in. She also insisted that I stop having dinner to fetch my passport!! HAHAHA HAHAHA Just before check out the manager was screaming with rage at hotel staff and I'm sure the screams were heard by many guests in their rooms.
Very good hotel but with some issues”
Great location. Food in restaurant is delicious. Perfect service. But a little bit expensive. And it's OK but in rooms you will have no fridge, water, plates and even glasses. This way they make you to buy everything in hotel. I think it's a little bit too much...
We had a lovely stay at Waikiki ”
We loved everything! Good location, very kind and helpful staff, room cleaned every day, delicious food (the best pizza), wonderful beach. Perfect!
Thankyou Anca It was a pleasure to meet you and your family We hope to see you again All the best from the Waikiki Team
Good value for money”
On my opinion Pwani Mchangan is the best option in Zanzibar as hotels go along the coast one after one so there are only hotel guests there. Some locals can appear but they are not so many as in other places. Hotel is really good value for money - small cute place with own beach. Do not expect a miracle - it is not European 4-5* hotel, it is nice rustic hotel having around 10-15 local style villas. If you want luxury or have very high expectations, you better pay triple price and book another place. Tap water is salty (as far as I know it is common in Zanzibar hotels) but it was ok for me taking shower for 3 days, they provide bottled water to brush your teeth. Food is good, quite expensive for Zanzibar but normally priced for Pwani Mchangan area, free wi-fi in the restaurant. Simone is adding much value to the service there (so I am giving 4* for him coz of him) and I assume owner has to give him a biiig bonus! Tours can be arranged on cheaper price than in other places. I just suggest to management to stop using/buying white towels as they get grey and look untidy.
Loved the design of the place and the quirky details, like the signage, the guitar and fairy lights on the bar. Loved the staff!
Every thing was good. But the Friday party was too much noisy. I can not sleep well.
waste of money”
This is not a resort, it is a hotel. There is no drinking water provided in the rooms, the tap water is salty and cant use it for even brushing your teeth and awful for showering.
A great experience”
rustic african hotel”
we had an amazing stay in waikiki resort. the owner who attended us during our cehck in was very helpful. the hotel is very rustic african style if you looking for modern hotel this is not for you. we like the beach in this hotel and the food was delicious considering you are in Africa. only few concern about this hotel, you MUST becareful with the restaurant staff being not so honest, during check out they put extra meal to our bill which we never order, i know its only couple of dollar but the intention is not honest, and everyone dislike it. only during check out we realized that our money is gone from my wallet 100dollar, we assumed the housekeeping lady took the money, although i put my money in my suitcase but unlocked :( but of course we dont have proof as we realized it only during check out. i think as long as you are careful with your money if you stay here. beside of that this hotel is beautiful with nature touch. we recomended this hotel.
Nice beach and weather. Quiet. ”
The water in the room is very salty and not suitable for brushing teeth and after showering your skin is still sticky. There's not much food options around but to eat at the resort's restaurant for most meals. Suitable for quiet getaways only as there's not much to do around the area unless you take up tours which are quite expensive for an underdeveloped place like zanzibar. The beach is beautiful with insanely white and soft sand. Ideal for swimming either in the morning or afternoon. During noon time there's low tide so it's just sand and no water which is very interesting.
Perfect place to relax, I would recommend it. ”
As part of the welcome we had a personalised introduction with the owner, which was new for us, and it made the hotel even more attractive. Every morning at breakfast we had to fill in a short feedback in which any issues could be highlighted, the staff made every effort to solve these problems, to make our stay more pleasent.
Nice place, good staff, expencive restaurant.”
Generally good. Restaurant is not cheap. Water in bathroom is a little bit salt.
Excellent, would definitely return”
Amazing! The owners were so attentive and it was so refreshing to be in a well-managed facility after some bad experiences in Dar es Salaam. The restaurants were excellent and I was amazed at the quality of the Italian food. I would definitely come here again!
Little paradise stuck between some big complex...”
Everything was going smoothly. Only one exception.. If you order food " a la carte" it's sometimes a bit long to get served... Go for the pizza instead!
best service for price, individuell beach hotel”
nice individual atmosphere, totally comfortable, restaurant, bar, pizza-place are close together in a perfect order, beach next door, italian owner is interested in any improvement. however, slow W-lan, and sometimes everybody has to improvise .
very comfortable, like home away from home”
it was too short and would like to go back again-lots fo space, great seaside seating designed in different ways, lots of green and books and spots to relax in...only drawback was despite promises, no early morning coffee and breakfast since all staff were asleep!
Nice relaxing beach resort”
If you had to rate the owners and staff from 1 to 10 I'd give them an 11. I can't remember any place were the customer service has been as good. The hotel is located quite far from the town but if that is no problem you'll probably enjoy your stay.
