      Even thou this place is well maintained and the staff are excellent , Sadly this hotel is now old and in desperate need of renovations. Smoking areas for us smokers are few and far between even thou it is a large hotel and they are not well shaded and take a packed lunch and refreshments to get to one. Old polished timber floors that need to be repolished or carpeted. Dated bathrooms. You pay for a room for 4 people and you get 2 single beds and if you actually have a party of 4 staying there then be prepared to be hit with a few for more beds even though it’s a room for 4.

      The bungalow we stayed was old and in my opinion needs updating. Room was clean, i love the location of the hotel which is far from the hubub of the city although ut is within the city. What you can hear when at the hotel was birds chirping and relaxing waves, fresh air. It was quite relaxing. I would definitely book again if i will be in davao. I fully recommend this hotel.

      We were setting and enjoying the breeze beside the swimming pool at around nine pass in the evening and out of nowhere the roving security guard came and told us that we need to get out because the swimming pool facility was closed. I respectfully told him ( dexter the guard) that we are a paid guest of the hotel , do we have no rights to enjoy the facilities of the hotel? He told us that we need to go back to our rooms...... What??? We are not small kids that we need to be told what to do..... I went to the executive office the following morning to talk to the manager but its just very unfortunate that the manager doesnt even care to talk to me. His name is Bryan Lasala. So dont ever ever ever make the same mistake to stay in this hotel when you are in Davao City. The building is old the airconditioning of rooms is not blowing cold air, the bath room tiles are nasty. Ive traveled around the world and so far this is the worst hotel i ever stayed......

      We encountered a poor customer service thru phone inquiry. I just called to ask for some inquiries and the receptionist, Jade, was in a hurry to hang up the phone. We were checking later that day so I asked a question or two and I wasn't finished yet when he said goodbye and hang up the phone without even telling me if I have any more concerns. So disppointing since I like this hotel so much. Been to this hotel a few times. Although I've personally observed and read some poor customer reviews. What I liked was their older staffs, Ms. Marilou and the manager at the breakfast buffet Cafe. They were very pleasant and accomodating. I think the hotel should train their staffs to be like them. Ms. Marilou made sure that what we requested for like the king sized bed was granted. And the manager at the Cafe during breakfast time was full of smiles. She talked to my son who's 3 year old and made sure he was having the time of his life. We appreciate her giving him a teaspoon for his yogurt and a piece of paper to write on and make him preoccupied. The younger staff and trainees were okay but some did not know how to smile. One thing, the bidet in the comfort room of our room was leaking. Overall, the stay was good. The place was relaxing. The breakfast buffet was a feast. I would have rated this hotel low but since the two personnels in the hotel treated us warmly, ill rate it as okay.

      Stinky Hotel”
      PRO: The hotel has a beautiful , well maintained garden. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately these are the only positive points I can say. CON: we have booked 6 rooms and only one room’s AC was working. We had to change 4 times bec either 1 room was leaking lots water, smells stinky or AC wasn’t working. All rooms had no towels and we waited for a long time for the towels to arrive. The hallway was so stinky the whole 2 days we there. The buffet wasn’t something to brag about. It’s noisy bec there’s always wedding or other big functions going on in the garden. If you have a car, forget finding a parking space if there’s an event that day. We couldn’t find our baggages left in their storage bec they were all tagged wrong. Although most staffs were friendly but some were not trained properly esp on holding the door for you when your hands are full. Unless you love sitting by the shore (no nice view) or watching people or sleep late, thisbhitel isn’t for you.

      Great view, great breakfast, and courteous staff.”
      It is so peaceful. It is far enough off the road to not hear any traffic. It is a beautiful place. We stay every time we come to Davao. We love it there. The only con is that the property needs a little love. Carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced. The balcony door in the first room we got, needs to be repaired, so it will lock. On the plus side, we brought our concerns to the front desk and they quickly found another room for us. This room was in great shape. We look forward to staying here next visit.

      You get what you paid for”
      My family and I had a really good time in the hotel. The 3 rooms we booked were so big as well as the bed. The free buffet breakfast was also good, so many food to choose from. The staffs were friendly and accommodating. The pool area were also nice, we had spent the whole afternoon there just sitting and swimming. And they have souvenir shops like Apo ni Lola with the same price as the factory. The only thing we wished the hotel have is the elevator, it is so tiring going up and down especially we had a toddler with us who was so lazy walking and had to be carried all the time. Nevertheless, we will defenitely come back here if we have the chance to go back to Davao.

      Not as good as the heydays...”
      On my first day of stay, there were no towels. it took them more than an hour to realize it. The staff said, they were still "drying". That must be TMI. Two more phone calls to housekeeping and front desk, the towels appeared when I told them to get some from empty rooms. On my second day of stay, the staff were knocking on my door for "status check" while I was sleeping in the late afternoon after all the meetings. I found out they were talking that I "overstayed". Second knock came and a phone call, too. I did not hold my tongue this time at the front desk officer, the caller. At least I got an apology for the error they'd done.

      The buffet breakfast has plenty of variety. Staffs are polite and friendly. Deluxe room is huge and clean. It's quiet eventhough there was wedding party in the garden . Beautiful luscious garden. This is just a paradise in the midst of the busy city. Accessible to cbd as there's heaps of taxi available. Front desk and front staff are helpful. Ilwe have had a delightful stay for 5 nights

      And yet there was a style of elegance especially the outside function area.. food was good . staff were courteous and friendly , always smiling ... however the guest room that we stayed in needed an uplift: bathroom tiles obviously had to be re -grouted..

      Positives include the location and the grounds which are well-kept and quite beautiful. The room is large and well-appointed. Staff is friendly and cheerful. Negatives are the air-conditioning is poor. Front desk/customer service failed to pick up the phone on numerous attempts to contact them. Promise of engineering technician to repair the A/C resulted in no improvement. Cafe Uno is very overpriced for the quality of the food. I will not return.

      No wifi in rooms. Bad Pizza. Poolside staff incoherant. ”
      Several issues at Waterfront. Wifi went out in the room during an airfare purchase, throwing the purchase into question. We had to wait until the next day to see if the transaction posted to my bank account (it didn’t). We ended up driving to another location to use the wifi to make our airfare purchases, which now cost an extra $100. In the meantime we ordered a peperoni pizza at the motel resto. The pizza came with one slice of peperoni and vegetables. A second pizza came out that we didn’t order. We were made to pay for that pizza we didn’t order. The room was ok but the pillows went flat when you laid on them as they were old. The bed was Asian standard hard. We went to the pool and sat under the sunshade next to the bar but were told that the table was reserved. The bar staff delivered our drinks across the pool in the full sun as all the other places were taken. I’d had enough at this point and declined the drinks, sending them vack unwilling to sign the charges.

      We are very please to say that this resort is highly recommended! We had a fanstastic stay. However, we wish that someday they will have their own beach, clean up the ocean infront of the resort and have water activities to offer.

      Carpet Change Please! Deluxe Room to Executive Suite”
      The hotel really need to change its hallway carpet. It’s so smelly!! Putting it aside, my stay where great since they upgraded my room into suite I think because they have an event on the area and they needed the room where I supposed to stay. I got to try their buffet at night and it lacks variety of food. Very limited choice. Morning buffet was OK.. And by the way, I got in 1 hour after the check in time. Got really irritated on that. But the suite really got me.. However, some lights and aircon doesn’t work on the room. Beach facility is musty! when it’s low tide you really get to see the plastic waste and MOREEE.. Please have some maintenance to clean it just like what I’ve seen from other hotels in Davao. I wish when I get back, it will have more improvements..
