    Above average”

This is a good little hotel. But, two things need to be clarifies; (1) Inspite of the address saying the hotel is in Mirissa beach: it is not! Now, the mistake may have come from Agoda and not the hotel per se. It is further along the coast, in a less developped (serviced) area. It is in Polhena area. And (2) The hotel should make it clear that there is NO beach in the hotel premisses, or for that matter, in this streth of the coast (polhena). Mirissa has a beach but no it is a bit off the announced "Mirissa" beach. Otherwise, great little hotel. Super staff.

Horrible Place For money we spend it . Food is terribly expensive staff was good but management has to be reasonable. You cannot have a sea bath at all in the beach So no point taking the facility if love to spend time at the sea

Comfortable stay, it would be great if the staff are equipped with a competence of English language and the swimming pool broken tiles are to be replace.

    Yes Paradise does exist ”

and its called Amaloh - It feels and it looks like the home of your dreams: it feels you are at the end of the world (but the Arpico is only 10 minutes far by tuk tuk ) it is so calm, luxurious and perfect - the pool, the room, the beach. One of the few hotels with a varied and tasty vegetarian and vegan menu . Staff is very caring - they have a life guard who is very skilled and this is very reassuring - I could live there :) next week trying the Jetwing in Yala :)

    Dissappointed!”

We had a pleasant previous stay last time so booked this again but this time it was horrible. The room did not match with the pictures in agoda when we asked for that room we were asked to pay extra for both nights. A lady at the reception does nothing but smile showing all her teeth I had to carry my own luggage no bell boy was called and thirdly at the restaurant when I asked the waiter what juice he offered he said it was papaya but it had passion in it I am allergic to passion so even after paying extra for two nights we left after one because of their disgusted service.Would never recommend it again.

While it's a lovely place, the pre-planning required for meals can be a spoiler. We were asked for our dinner order following breakfast!

Bad location/ Not upto jetwing standard ”

The beach is terrible, there is NO 24 hour room service, there is NO buffet, the car park is located directly under coconut trees which put the cars under risk of serious damage if they were to fall.

    Total relaxation ”

We had a wonderful couple of nights at Amaloh. The food was great though we did get a bit tired of papaya juice every day!! The small beach was like our private pool!! The staff were great. The pool guy Kumar was exceptional. Took the kids out to the nearby island in kayaks. A very responsible young man. We will definitely go back to Amaloh.

    Needs maintenance ”

    Attractive building, nice pool

Not clean beach. The location is ok if you're a business traveler in the area but definitely not right place if you're expecting a nice resort. Our room needed updating and maintenance. The bath room door didn't shut properly and a lot of mosquitos came in while sleeping. Expensive food for the quality. Rude older employees at the restaurant and the bar. It grew to like the place at the end of our stay but not sure if I'm going to return.

    First class boutique hotel”

Swimming beach, relaxed village neighborhood and personal service

We very much liked the modern rooms with nice outdoor bathtub in a relaxing beach side compound with good sized swimming pool. Nearby beaches are best explored with a scooter.

    Overpriced and Overrated”

    nothing redeemable

The food was sub-par at best and extremely overpriced. The hotel is really in the middle of nowhere, 20 mins to Mirissa (not 5-10) at least an hour to Galle, and the taxis/vans/tuktuks were not cheap either. A day trip to the rainforest was about 165 USD. A day trip to Galle cost 75 USD. They charged you for the use of their kayaks, which is absurd given the amount of money it costs to stay per night, and it’s really the only thing you can do there aside from swim in the pool. The nearest beach (not Mirissa) which they say is walkable is extremely small, very local and overall not very nice, plus the fact that you need to walk through the hotels trash yard to get to it isn't appealing either. I went with a group of friends and 3 of the 4 rooms we stayed in did not have working sliding doors, meaning we could not access the bathroom, and that there was a great place for mosquitos to enter. Overall, this place is completely overrated and overpriced. The serve was overall very poor; I would not recommend staying here to anyone who may be venturing to Sri Lanka

Only 1. The hotel was clean

I was very disappointed in it.. yes the hotel was clean but it is out of the way and to get to it you have to go down a dirt track..Be careful of the dogs thst surrounds the hotel..many aggressive and rabies ridden!!! Also the drinks at the bar are far over priced 600 rupees for a small beer..better going to the Liquor shop and purchase there..As for food there is no menu!! So the chef ask what you would like the day before...I went elsewhere. .Definitely WONT go back

Fabulous new hotel right on beach !”

Food was excellent, rooms were large clean, the outdoor shower and bath was to die for !

We had a lovely 2 nights at the boutique hotel at the end of our trip. The hotel is quite new (only 6 months old when we stayed) with a new wing about to open before December. We stayed with another young family so together we occupied 4 of the then 5 rooms. The hotel is lovely, rooms are extra large with lots of space. They had satellite TV and air con, which was necessary given hot weather at the time. Our kids loved playing in the pool and strolling along the beach. It was clean and relaxing. We were given welcoming fruit cocktails upon arrival. ordered western lunches which were just delicious. Breakfast was ample and fresh. The chef offers to buy fresh seafood at the markets to cook for us. I guess that was because our group was the only guests at the time. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyway wanting a luxury get away near Marissa.
