    “Wonderful Experience – Can’t Wait to Return!”

    We had a wonderful stay! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I’d like to give special mention to a young man in black at the restaurant and a tall gentleman at the guardhouse — both were incredibly charismatic, spoke excellent English, and often came over to chat with us. Sadly, we didn’t catch their names. A heartfelt thank you also to the housekeeping team, who made our bed so comfy and kept the room spotless every day — it was always a joy to return to such a clean and cozy space. The buffet dinner with the acoustic band was another highlight — the musicians interacted warmly with guests and created such a fun and memorable atmosphere. There’s also a beautiful pool with a bar, which I didn’t get to enjoy this time, but I’m definitely saving that for my next visit. Highly recommended, and I truly hope to be back again soon!

    “Quiet tranquil hidden gem ”

    Had an amazing stay, your made to feel welcomed from the moment you arrive! Clean and comfortable quiet rooms, large balcony with a comfy daybed, comfortable bed and the best pillows!! great food, beautiful spa massage (ask for Indah) excellent pools, so relaxing and quiet, it’s a combination of boutique style and resort. Staff so lovely and helpful, a lovely touch was being offered and supplied a breakfast takeaway box as I checked out before breakfast time. Such a nice gesture and it was beautiful!     “Another great stay at Astagina”

    Have chosen to stay at Astagina many times, it’s my favourite place to stay when in Bali. I’m usually a solo traveller, this time I come over with family, which included children. They loved it too. The resort is lovely, gardens neat & tidy, staff are so, so friendly & welcoming, rooms clean. Tuesday nights feature the Aussie BBQ, what a fun night! Food was delicious & plenty of it, the entertainment was fantastic….great music & the best dancers. Highly recommend staying at Astagina & the BBQ night if you can.

    “Great family stay”

    Family of five stayed in a two bedroom suite. Paid extra for an additional bed which was set up in the lounge room. Look it was comfortable but a bit tight with the five of us and one toilet that’s in the one bathroom was also tricky with us all having a sore belly at points… I was worried when I learned that children under 12 can’t be in the main pool, I realised it’s because it doesn’t seem to have a shallow end. We only used the family pool and actually it was great, all the smaller kids were there and they had a great time playing together. Gardens and breakfast are lovely. Staff were great too. Room is a bit dated but bathroom had been updated and all was fine for use. Would stay again but would book a bigger room.

    “Great hotel”

    Exceptional accommodation in Legian. The rooms are very clean,comfortable and secure. The grounds, gardens, pool and restaurant areas are immaculate and equally as beautiful. The breakfast is the best you will find at 4 stars, if you want better you will have to book 5 star. The only minor flaws 1. The showers are over high baths and it's uncomfortable to get in and out and I slipped. They need to install handles to make it safe. 2. The hot water is actually not hot, just warm and it's just not good enough. 3. The staff are amazing however, the young girl on the egg/pancake station was so busy it's impossible to imagine yet she delivered each order to three customer's table, took the orders and prepared and cooked everything. At one stage she had 12 orders as we were watching her from the table. We noticed other staff members standing around including a senior staff member and not helping but telling orders, delivering or assisting with cooking which acutely delayed everyone's breakfast leaving some people frustrated. It's not good enough.

    We Stayed for 2 nights at Astagina Resort Villa and Spa from October 17–19, 2025. The staff were very helpful in arranging a late-night pickup and smooth check-in at 11 pm.     “Amazing Stay”

    We had a five nights stay at Astagina. From the moment we arrived until we left, it was exemplary service rendered to us from all the different departments. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned every single morning. A big thank you to Dewa from Housekeeping for cleaning our room. The spread of breakfast was adequate and it changes daily. To Tari and Sri from the Pangi Bistro, it was delightful to see you both every morning and enjoyed the conversations. We spent most times at the pool which was big. Plenty of sun beds and a swim up bar to enjoy drinks. Afternoon tea was inclusive daily during our stay which was a nice gesture. Thank you Dewa from the restaurant for his friendliness during our tea sessions. We had great entertaining conversations. To Mae, Dewa, Leo and Mirah from the Front Office, thank you for all the assistance and queries rendered to us as we extended another night stay. A team of people from various departments whom are great asset to the resort which makes the stay more than comfortable and a homely feel.     “Good quality Hotel ”

    Resort was welcoming, clean and tidy with beautiful pools and exceptional gardens along with helpful and kind staff. Breakfast was included and there was many choices [hot and cold] for all diets/religion etc This is a good location in Seminyak, just a bit of a walk down the lane way to get in/out - but very safe and quiet location.     Cannot fault Astagina-it is our new favourite place to stay & will definitely be back. Staff were all friendly and nothing too much trouble.     “So much love for this hotel ”

    What I love most about Astagina is having such warm , friendly staff. From reception (Deju) to security (thank you Wayan) to restaurant staff to drivers, everyone amazing. It was my birthday and Sri and staff in the restaurant surprised me with a cake and sang for me. The room was big, cleaned everyday, complete amenities, I love the batik robe and slippers too. The pool and overall facilities were good although haven’t used the pool due to my hectic schedule. The personal touches were also amazing , first time for me to see notes in the mirror and letter personalized to welcome me. I availed of their airport pick up and drop off and Uluwatu tour and never regretted it. Arya and Surya were great drivers and became my good friends. They can pack your breakfast for you if you need to leave the hotel early for the tours just ask the reception. The location very good a good 5min walk to the shops and restaurants and 10 mins walk to the beach. Thank you Astagina for a lovely Bali Experience. Will definitely come back when I return to Bali.

    “Astagina”

    I stayed here with my wife an teens in July 2025. We ae Bali regulars, and this would have to be our least favourite place to stay. Lets start with the good, the grounds are stunning, the breakfast buffet was good and the staff are beautiful! The rooms were a big let down. Shower over bath leaks causing a wet floor, towels were terrible (they had holes and tears), the hot water in the shower wasn't always hot in the evening. The housekeeping never once wiped the coffee area (lucky we had wipes to clean up. the biggest kicker for us was the difference in room quality if you booked direct compared to a travel agent! Our friends booked a deluxe room direct with the resort, they were given a room on the top floor, with an extra large balcony and day bed. We booked with Agoda same room category but we got given a room on the 2nd floor with a tiny balcony and no day bed. Major renovations were also underway on this floor, que sanding the wood floors in bedrooms at 8am!! They even did the room we shared an interconnecting door. hey mustn't have sealed the door, fine dust covered our entire belongings and room. They then continued to vanish and seal the fllors the chemical they used burned our eyes, and the smell!! We approached management and with much back and forth, and originally being told they were fully booked. We were given another room with no sanding and powertools being used at 8am and more importantly no chemicals. We asked for a refund initially when we were told they were full and no rooms available, they declined because our booking was 'non refundable'. Gobsmacked!!! I checked the following morning, and our original room was vacant and the doors open airing out. Absolutely wouldn't recommended this hotel, we wont be back. Whilst maintenance and upkeep is unavoidable, MAJOR renovations should be planned appropriately to ensure guest comfort.

    “Perfect quiet hotel”

    Great hotel in a great location down a laneway off the main rd, away from traffic noise. Buffet breakfast with different options each day. Clean rooms, modern enough with a traditional twist/feel. Comfy bed and cold air con. Lovely pool area which never got too busy or loud.     “This Is What Great Service Looks Like”

    This resort is located approximately a 10-minute walk from the beach. The service was impeccable, especially from the manager, Yudi, who personally handled my concerns. After returning from a swim, I encountered an issue with my room’s door lock, which required about 30 minutes to repair while I waited outside. Shortly after, I experienced another issue with the air conditioning, as it was not cooling properly. I contacted the front desk again, and Manager Yudi promptly came to assist. He arranged for a room change and kindly offered me a complimentary Christmas Eve dinner as a gesture of goodwill. His professionalism and attentiveness truly made a difference and turned the situation into a positive experience. Besides that, all the staff were extremely friendly. There was one staff member in particular whose name I unfortunately can’t recall—hopefully you’re able to decide between Android and iPhone soon for your big purchase! Would I return? Absolutely. This is the kind of service everyone deserves. I truly hope the management takes note of this review and rewards the team with a well-deserved bonus.

    We had a really great time. The room lost a star because the aircon broke and the bathroom wasn’t absolutely clean. The restaurant and pool staff were very kind and helpful. The reception staff were a little disconnected and had to be asked twice and room service took 2 goes to get it right. We enjoyed the breakfast and the gardens and the pool, and only offer this feedback to be helpful. The hotel is great, but there is always room for improvement.

    “bang for your buck ”

    Really big sized rooms, rooms are cleaned every day. Staff is polite and friendly. Reception will get you service asap. Very well priced. The only negative thing I can say and I did mention it to the staff is the breakfast must be covered! There are flys and insects all over it. People throughout the hotel were so sick. I got sick my girlfriend was bedridden for 2 days. This is the kind of thing that can ruin a persons vacation. Other than that everything else was spot on

    “For a first timer in bali”

    Hotel is decent and had that bali vibes! It has 2 pools but the main pool was really nice to hang out to. The pool beds are huge for a group maybe 2-4. Downside tho is they do not allow massage services to be done in the pool bed but only in their spa. Also the spa closes at 5pm which is really early for travellers with so much itinerary in a day. As to the room it is nice and the staff always clean up the rooms nicely. Although my allergies seem to have been trigerred i dont know why. There were 2 cockroaches in the bathroom (on separate days) but i dont think it was because the room was not clean? Maybe coming from drainage so i dont know how can they do something about it? The breakfast was okay although almost same for all days we were there.. better to be early because at 9am it seems to be crowded. Staff were nice and easy to talk to. Our flight going home was at night so even tho we checked out we spend the rest of day in the hotel and it was comfortable.

    “Perfect end to our Bali holiday”

    We spent 5 nights at Astagina Resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was well appointed, although the bathroom is a little narrow and the shower over the bath isn't ideal for older people. Beds and pillows were comfy and bed linen was clean and crisp. The breakfast omelets were a wonderful start to the day. Breakfast was reasonably varied and sufficient. Evening meals in the restaurant were great quality and affordable, especially with 15% discount vouchers. Staff throughout the resort are friendly and efficient. The reception staff are very helpful. We didn't use the pool much as the water is too warm at this time of year but the pool loungers, having thick pads on them, were great to spend time on. The hotel's location is perfect. There are streets of shops, restaurants and bars close by and a short walk takes you to the beach with its eateries and entertainment. Once in the resort area there is no outside noise so it's an oasis among all the activity of Legian. We would certainly stay at Astagina again.

    “Fantastic resort with room for improvement”

    It almost feels disingenuous for me to have to rate this place so low overall, and I do urge you, if you are reading my review, to read this in its entirety so that you may understand how I arrived at this rating. On a whole, my husband and I LOVED the resort. At an insanely reasonable price of less than $100 a night, we got to stay in a lovely resort with beautiful pools (I had my VERY FIRST pool bar experience and loved it!), enjoyed daily breakfast (please try their banana pancakes and omelettes!), received meticulous service by very friendly staff (they surprised me with a birthday cake and song the morning of during breakfast and we STILL don't know how they found out), and indulged at an AMAZING spa which 40% discount for in-house guests we took absolute advantage of. The location was a dream - 10 to 15 minutes on foot got you to the beach, and if you walked the other way, 15 to 20 minutes brought you to bustling streets with endless shopping options and food places. Sadly, once we were not actually outside enjoying the resort facilities, or service, or walking around in the vicinity, being in the room itself was almost close to unbearable at times. In true resort fashion, everything in the room including the doors, floor and furnishings were made of wood. And whether it was a result of poor wood quality to begin with, or the nature of wood being used so much and requiring top-quality maintenance that I expect would be impossible considering the traffic at the resort, the state of the furnishings at high-traffic areas in the room was regrettably pitiful. Parts of the bathroom and balcony door frame close to the floor were already rotting away, the floorboards were VERY squeaky and uneven because some of the planks have obviously already popped from the floor, and on the last night, we even had ants attack some of our food that we had left out on the dresser table. On top of that, the one thing that drove me absolutely up the wall was the ABSOLUTE LACK of soundproofing between our room and the neighbouring room. Every single morning we could hear our neighbours walking around their room, slamming open and close their main door, balcony door, and every single doorbell that rang in their room when room service/their friends?/who-knows called on them. Even if we could not hear them, I could FEEL them because OUR doors would creak and squeak whenever THEY opened theirs and it was downright AWFUL. In all honesty, I think we were undone by the sheer fact that we were in the room so much for so many days on a near-empty itinerary, because if you only needed the room to sleep in and are out for most of the day, then I am almost certain that none of these things will bother you. However, it really does not take away from some of the misery and awfulness we had had to endure being put up in the room and some of the room's questionable designs - the balcony looks out to a WALL and you have to shower INSIDE the BATHTUB (I was deathly afraid I would slip and fall getting in and out of it every single time). We want to come back, and I do think we will definitely be back, but I also very much hope that the rooms undergo a complete overhaul/renovation/major upgrading works before then. If we do come back, we will definitely be giving the villas a try, and pray that the interior of the villas fare much better.

    “Hidden Gem”

    From the moment we arrived to checking out, all the staff including security at Astagina were very warm, welcoming and ensuring we are well taken care of all the time. They were all smiles and greeted us everyday. Special shoutout to Edy who kept our rooms real neat and clean and also the staff who helped us checked in on 26th October night (which I did not get the name of) he was extremely patient when we had an issue with the safe box and had to trouble him to come up twice. Location was also great with many eateries/bars/cafes nearby and a short 10 mins walk to double six beach. Breakfast spread was decent with a mix of western and Indonesian which we really love their fried noodles and French toast! The only downside we had was the aircon not being cold enough and the wood floor was abit slippery and squeaky but it didn’t bother us too much. Do take note there is an also a short walk out to the entrance from the lobby but we generally took grab bike as our main transport. Overall it was very pleasant stay and we will recommend Astagina Resort Villa and Spa to everyone!

    “Excellent property but needs to improve on thier check for towels and cutlery ”

    Stayed in the deluxe suite and it was amazing . The room is brilliant and clean. Comfortable to stay and staff is very polite and always ready to help . The sad part of the hotel is that it comes across as being stuck up on keeping a check on its towels , glasses , spoons etc . It just leaves the guest with anxiety on handling bath towels and swimming towels rather than relaxing for a holiday . A suggestion would be for the hotel to increase / improve staffing in the hotel so that they can track basic amenities provided by them rather than have the guest track it . The entire experience would be excellent if this could be checked

    “Friendly resort with plenty of potential”

    Basing this on the view of a family travelling with a 3 year-old and 6 year-old. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa. Didn’t know when we booked, the bedrooms are self-standing villas with a bathroom each, set apart from the main living/entertainment space. Located at opposite ends of the pool which sits in the middle. For fear of our kids waking in the middle of the night and walking straight out into the pool, the 2nd bedroom was used only during the day for the kids and they camped on the floor of our main room at night! Something to consider for younger kids.. The main door to the villa also does not latch locked from the inside (locks but opens when you press the handle down). So my son was able to open it and escape whenever he felt the need. The ambience in the villa is beautiful. The lighting can be tailored with so many switches, pool lights, etc. Being mostly outside, the living space was subject to weather coming in. And when it pours rain, there is no real lounge area to use. The bathrooms were very clean and we had cleaners into the villa every day (including a pool cleaner) who were all wonderful. Bottled water was replenished daily. The dining menu was a bit limited but there are PLENTY of dining options in walking distance if you want a change. Clean pool - the deck was a bit sketchy in places and needs some repairs. Unfortunately the resort kids facilities are limited to a kids pool with no other play equipment. But there is plenty of lawn space for stretching their legs and fish feeding available at the restaurant :-) The couples spa treatment was lovely. Waking distance to the beach was about 6-8 minutes with kids in tow. Nice area, felt safe. * Tips: recommend taking a Bluetooth speaker for some music as it adds to the beautiful villa vibe. I would definitely recommend this room for a couple with older children to have their own space (or two couples).

    “Fantastic resort!”

    We had a villa with our own pool which was fantastic! The second bedroom was great for our young teenagers as they have separate beds. The rooms were clean and the outdoor kitchen/pool area in the villa was huge. Breakfast is good, not a huge buffet, but enough. Staff were very friendly always asking what we have been doing and offering help. The location is great, 10 minute walk to the beach with great beach side bars and restaurants. Very close to shopping too.

    “Fantastic Resort!”

    I have stayed here 3 different times and would stay here again. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the accommodation and facilities are clean and well maintained. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms supply all toiletries needed. The resort itself is quiet and the gardens are beautiful! I have stayed twice in the Suite Room with the spa. It is wonderful and worth spending the extra money. The buffet breakfast is always fresh with a wide variety of choices. Highly recommend Astagina! I will return next year! 😊

    “It's okay. A bit stingy and tired”

    Lovely staff, good location. The hotel is a bit tired, needs attention. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. It's super close to my favourite massage at Gita Spa (for injuries, not relaxing) and Warung Asia, who have excellent food. The air-conditioning was mouldy, but they gave it a deep clean when asked. The bath took an hour to fill, ten minutes to empty, despite plug being in. They came and fixed it, but next bath was just the same. Light on the balcony shines through window and is on a timer until 5 am. I asked them to please turn it off as the room was very light with it on. There are already two lights outside, on each side of balcony divider, facing out. This provided plenty of light, if needing to go outside. They were there besides the balcony light. They came and disconnected the bulb for me. Weird, being on a timer all night, especially as the curtains are not blockout curtains. Ironically, the guest toilets have a sign, asking you to turn off light when not using, to conserve power... Yet every single room has a balcony light on every night, despite not being needed. They charge for ice as well, though this is becoming more common throughout Bali, and fair enough, it costs them too. I got some fresh milk from breakfast one morning as the rooms only have powdered. The last day I tried to order more milk for my rooibos tea, I was told I couldn't have any. I tried to say I'd rather pay for it than go to the shop but the receptionist (male) continued to telle I couldn't have any. Very strange!! I could get it free at breakfast (which I paid for, for my whole stay and only has twice) but they refused even when I was willing to pay. (I was hanging for a cuppa). These little things added up. I went through the restaurant and asked a staff member if I could have milk and they got me a glass, without any issues. I wouldn't return. The staff were very nice and tried very hard to please. I paid for breakfast and it was okay, I don't eat rice or noodles and not much bread, so not a lot of choice. I don't drink caffeine so asked for a herbal tea. I was informed that would cost extra.

    Loved our stay, quite a few maintenance issues, lights flicking even after turned off so we kept on, did report guy came said he fixed it but still happened. Shower head spat everywhere needs cleaning, spa took for ever to fill at least half hr so only used once. Pool great but I didn’t get to use in our 3 days there as slipped on wood decking around pool and fractured my ankle. The place is beautiful but maintenance is lacking. Toilet was blocked and nearly overflowed too. The staff were very helpful and attended to all our needs. Extra water everyday was great.

    What a beautiful and royal villa we got! A cosy family friendly pool just outside with a large, aesthetic and relaxing main pool for the guests outside. We had the 3 bedroom Royal Villa and our private pool was amaaaaazing to hang in and around! one bedroom opened straight into the pool, it was heavenly. There were 2 outdoor showers which were so fun and gorgeously designed. Be mindful of the top of the spiral staircase as it can be difficult to walk on. The toilets are usable but toilet paper needs to be placed in bin rather than flushed. The service was great, facilities gorgeous, cleanly and spacious!     “Nice Quiet Resort”

    We stayed at the Astagina for 10 nights in a Garden Villa and had a lovely time. The Resort is tucked away from bustling Ajuna St and is lovely and quiet. Facilites are good with two nice pools. The main pool does have a rule that no one under 12 can swim in it which we thought was extremly odd, but apart from our first day this rule was not enforced. Breakfast was good with hot dishes changing each day. There was a nice rotation of pancakes and waffles. The pastries could be more fresh though with them often a little stale. If there was one thing that could be approved l would say the cleaning of our villa. Most cleans seemed just surface cleans with the kitchenette and shower neglected. We went to Legian beach and of course the children brought sand back and this sand was not cleaned from our shower for at least 3 days. Overall it was a pleasant stay with the staff easily the highlight.

    “Beautiful, quiet resort”

    Great resort in a great location., lots of shops and restaurants around and easy walk to the beach. Grounds are beautiful and were well kept, food was really nice and high quality, but limited range. Staff were mostly lovely! We were there for two weeks and could have done with a more thorough clean of the Villa in that time but otherwise it was fine. The only thing is that kids aren’t allowed in the big pool and the family pool is only waist deep, so if you have good swimmers they might be disappointed and a private pool villa within the resort might be the best option.
