Historic hotel near Roma Termini”
I love the look of the building. The historic building surely has so many tales to tell. The design and decor places itself as an ideal hotel to stay in the heart of Rome. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the major hub Roma Termini. I don't like dragging my luggage along the uneven rocky pavements, so I guess I have made the right choice. Checking-in was easy and we got our room keys right away even though it's at 10:30am. The hotel staff looked very serious - no smiles and no greetings but that was fine with us. However the breakfast staff were cheerful and friendly. The buffet breakfast were very good. There's a coffee machine which you can make any kind of coffee you prefer. The room itself is small but OK for the two of us but the bathroom is really small. The sink, commode, bidet and shower are right next to each other. Anyway it's a great hotel and I would recommend it to others.
Good location (middle of two subway station) easy to move around.”
Located between two major subway stations so you can pick go anywhere from there. The room size is I think large enough for two people to relax. High celling makes you feel even in bigger room. Breakfast is OK. (espresso machine, so you make it on your own). Friendly staff.
One night stopover”
The assistance I received from a gentleman on check-in was greatly appreciated. I had to post a parcel home and he assisted with directions to post office, when I couldn't find packaging assisted me with a box and tape. Really above and beyond given he didn't demonstrate any frustration, so greatly appreciated. Was able to leave my luggage for a late flight and the room was nice, bathroom huge. The hallways of hotel are in need of a refresh. The breakfast was a good selection.
Strategically Located Hotel”
We visited this hotel twice and both times for overnight stay because of its close proximity (app 300m) to Roma Termini station and competitive price if compared with hotel of the same range nearby. Recommend to those who needs to take morning train to Fiumicino Airport, don't mind to stay in hotel with outdated/dated facilities, travel with elderly and with lot of luggage, then this hotel may be ideal for you and/or your family. However, if you plan to stay longer, especially during winter to early spring, you may want to consider another hotel because the temperature in the room is centrally controlled and there is no heater in the room, it was kind of cold during these periods.
OUR HOTEL IN ROME”
Our family stayed in Bettoja Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel, and occupied 2 rooms from May 29-31, 2018 and then again from June 4-5, 2018. The hotel has an excellent location being a 3-minute walk to the Roma termini and the city metro. The staff, from the bell service, Front Desk staff and waiters at the restaurant, were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are large compared to other standard hotel sizes. Breakfast were served complimentary as included in our room rates and they served a wide array of choices for both food and drinks. We also tried the restaurant during dinner and we commended the service provided by the waiter. We traveled to Florence and Venice after our May 31 stay. We appreciated the gesture of the hotel when accommodating storage of our 3 big pieces of luggage - as those were hard to carry with us during our brief visits to Florence and especially to Venice. We will definitely recommend the hotel to our friends when they visit Rome in the future.
Strategically located hotel”
This hotel is located within 5min walk from Roma Termini station. Their rate is reasonable considering the distance to train station and metro (in 3min). Their breakfast is nothing to shout about but the location is superb. I would recommend this hotel to travellers with reasonable budget especially those family with elderly and/or young children as this hotel is good base to everywhere.
I mixed up my review between the 1st and 2nd time of stay. This is my 2nd stay during my Italy trip. The staff could recognise me immediately and welcome me back in the same warm way as before. I was given a big room with 3 single beds, 2 of which were joined together. Pastries are good as ever and staff are really nice!
Hotel is considered a bit old but this is the style of the hotel itself. Everything blends in well with the whole concept. Service staff at reception and breakfast are fantastic. The location is 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini and there are many restaurants within 5 minutes of walking. I got an email from the hotel upon my booking saying that they noted my requests and will try best to meet them. My room was ready when I arrived in the morning 10am. Upon entering the room, I saw the bed was not made and someone's luggage was still inside. I left the room and informed the reception. A new room was assigned and everything is good. They serve fantastic pastries during the breakfast!
I must compliment not one but most of the hotel staff who are very professional (friendly, helpful and speaks good English). My stay was a comfortable one considering the cleanliness and spacious room. Just a stone throw away from Termini station and within 15 minutes of walking distance to Colloseum, Fontana Fountain, Republic Square and other interesting place. Only need to take Metro red line to Vatican City or Spagna (famous shopping street).
I was surprised by the history of the hotel. It's a very old fashioned hotel. I felt like I was in an old Italian movie, haha. I felt shocked at the first sight of the room as an Asian. It's so old fashioned decoration. BUT the bathroom is the best in my whole Europe trip.so big, nice and comfortable.i still miss it.haha.But I was not satisfied with my bed which was combined with two single beds.
Excellent hotel right near Termini Station”
Excellent value if you want a good 4 star hotel. Very central. Walk to most attractions if you want. 20 minute to half hour walk to most - Trevi, Colloseum, Vatican etc etc. Metro train station just 2 minutes walk away if you want to use trains. Bus including Hop On/Hop Off bus just 1 minutes walk away. Staff very good and helpfull. Great restaurant. Both wifi and provision of a computer room. Very enjoyable.
Beware if you are with a tour group”
I had an excellent room the first night, which I purchased myself via booking.com. Then I joined Gray line-I love Rome, 10 night Italy Tour by Carrani tour group and those rooms were awful. One room had glass all over the floor, and asked for another room and was told they were fully booked. I had made an additional reservation for my last 2 nights, again through booking.com, but was told since I was with Carrani tours I could not use MY reservation and again got awful room, but all of the sudden they had an extra room and reluctantly moved us. Every room had freezers which were leaking water inside and not cold refrigerators in every room. A/C never worked unless you went down to see them actually change it in the computer. Card keys only worked intermittently. However most of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Wonderful location, excellent hotel”
Breakfast was wonderful, staff was wonderful, the location was ideal--very close to the Termini bus, train, and metro station. Lots of amazing restaurants, shopping, and sights very close by. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful with information and arranging transportation when we needed something a little extra. The sister hotel across the street has a beautiful rooftop restaurant that we were able to utilize and the nighttime views of Rome from the roof were breathtaking. We plan to stay here again when we come back.
Great location and best bang for your buck!”
I loved the location of where this hotel was, it was next to the train station and yet we were able to walk EVERYWHERE except the Vatican, the price was amazing for the location! The breakfast was good as well and were able to save some money on breakfast, and it had good location on regards to restaurants so many good area.
Short walk from station”
Our triple room was roomy and the bathroom was also large. Tea making facilities, which was a nice touch, not always offered in Italy, plus a massive array of toiletries in the bathroom. Reasonable breakfast and very near the train/metro station.
Everything great but staff”
We were with a group, and extended one more day. For the money, this a great find; good sized rooms, above average bath, nice bar, fantastic location. The front desk was not very helpful. Each question seemed like an interruption, promised times not met, that sort of thing. If you don’t need to interact with the front desk folks, this is a fine hotel.
Decent hotel nearby Termini Roma”
Less than 5 mins walk to Roma Termini. Safe place to stay, but watch out when you are queuing in crowd, especially boarding bus. Nearby by Hop On And Hop Off Pick Up Point. Convenient with lots of eateries shop.
Convenient location and good breakfast”
Small room that does not accommodate 3 people well. A roll on bed was used for 3rd person. Refrigerator not cold enough to make beverages cold. Convenient location . Very close walking distance to Roma Termini Train station. Good hot breakfast of eggs and bacon, as well as pastries and breverages.
Charming hotel with an old world charm. Staff are friendly rooms are clean and a very good breakfast is offer in the ground floor breakfast room. Good size room with excellent bathroom facilities. Hotel is centrally located to the iconic sights in Rome and easy access to the metro.
Good location and friendly staff”
It takes only 5-10mins (depends on how many luggages you have) from the hotel to Roma Termini, really great location, downstairs just one block away, you can find a small supermarket and a nice restaurant with seats at the outdoor area, which serves good food and they provide good service. Rooms are clean, wifi works well, my room is actually connected to my daughter's, nice bathroom, and the breakfast buffet was nice, not many choices but tastes good.
