More about Brinchang

After passing an 18-hole golf course with undulating fairways with meandering stream and greens, visitors reach the town of Brinchang. Tourists continue to ascend here for an escape from life in the lowlands. The cooler temperatures of the Cameron Highlands are ideal for growing tea, strawberries and roses, and there are beautiful gardens to explore. Rustic hotels can arrange jungle walks and treks to local lookout points.

Gunung Brinchang, the highest peak in the area, can be hiked independently, or with a local guide. The entrance to the 12km nature trail is situated at the edge of Brinchang Town and takes around three hours on foot. However, visitors can also hire a taxi all the way to the mountain’s summit where an observation tower offers breathtaking views of Titiwangsa Mountains.

The relaxed pace of life is contagious, and tourists quickly see the value of taking it slowly. After a day spent exploring a Hindu temple and strolling through Bharat Tea Plantation travelers can head to an English-style pub and indulge in some hearty British food. The town is filled with colorful buildings, often in an English Tudor style. A vibrant night market is complemented by a handicraft souvenir center, the Balai Kraftangan, located by the town’s central parking square.

The local roads continue to improve, and a new route from Ipoh recently opened. The most convenient way to get here is to rent a car in Kuala Lumpur or Ipoh, but express and VIP buses are also available. The drive from Kuala Lumpur takes between four and five hours and brings travelers through some beautiful territory. .
