Perfect no frills budget accommodation close to waterfront (20min walking). Close to many restaurants plus station and buses. Fantastic helpful staff. Parking available but R60 per day.

Everything is fine except that you have to pay for wifi access. In Vietnam even a sidewalk coffee vendor provides you a free high speed wifi. For a hotel this must be a given. The staff though are just awesome....

            Cape Town Lodge Hotel is a mid-priced hotel in the city center with exceptional service and access to many of the surrounding areas. Although it is not on the waterfront, the staff can arrange a shuttle bus to that area at a minimal cost. It is very easy to find from the airport, and the staff immediately jumps to attention taking care of any need at the moment of arrival. The central business district is right outside the front door, making this a perfect option for those traveling and working in the city. Overall, Cape Town Lodge Hotel is a very nice service-oriented and mid-range hotel with an excellent location in the city.

            We were surprised with the loft suite (3 levels) with great views. We watched the New Years fireworks from the balcony. Excellent restaurant with fabulous steaks. Only negative or below expectations was the breakfast buffet which had limited options (basic egg, toast and a meat with fruits).

            A 3 star hotel that claims to be 4”
            1. the hotel is decent, clean, with good facilities such as pool, bar, restaurant, in room service, laundry and parking. 2. parking at zar70 per day. you can park on the street for zar17.60 per hour during 08an to 17h00. post 17h00 it's free. hence at zar70 per day I find it expensive given that I'm already paying the hotel a steep price per night. 3. price at usd157 per night is way out of order for the level of this hotel. 4. at 1am a staff came Knocking in the door to bring bottles of water. at 01am! 5. the food for breakfast is extremely poor especially if they claim themselves to be at a 4 star level. it was so poor that a 2nd year student at a hotel school could surely cook better. (no fresh juice) hence breakfast definitely not worth it! 6. AC in the room makes so much noise it's impossible to sleep with that on. 7. remote controls for both AC and the TV was not working 8. laundry rates are so expensive. for 1 pair of jeans it's zar118 and just 5 min walk away you can wash and fold 5kg of clothes for a mere zar100. overall this hotel should have been priced along rates of usd50 to usd60 max. I would not advise anyone to stay in this hotel for more than the rates above. you can surely find other alternatives in town.

            Everything is good, but their TV channels only 9 out of 19 you could watch cos the others were fuzzy or nothing there. But after I complained to be fair they did retune the fuzzy channels. But for a 4* hotel they should have the full DSTV package.

            The staff in particular has made my stay at this hotel a great experience, friendliness is at the order of the day and prices for minibar etc. very reasonable. I arrived 2 hours early and they went out of their way to get me a room in only 10 minutes.

            It’s definetly not a 4star. I have been to many hotel and the room we were given looks like 2 star stretching to 3 star. Everything at this so called 4star hotel is extra. Parking is extra charge. WiFi is an extra charge. When checking out the clerk asked me if I used anything from the fridge, which I said no. She then called security to double check if I’m telling the truth. I know she’s doing her job but then what’s the point asking me. Shows she don’t trust her guest and makes me feel bad. They should just check and not ask the question. Again I reiterate it can’t be a 4star hotel. That’s misleading. It’s a 2-3start.

            Over all the trip was great. However the staff at the reception desk was a bit rude. ”
            Professionally speaking, the front desk personnel should be courteous, and professional. Upon arrival when checking into the room the head receptionist spoke in a harsh tone. There was a mix up the reservation where 2 rooms seemed to have been held. I had made 2 separate reservations but one was cancelled. This identical situation occurred with 1 other person in the group and a 3rd person who had 6 reservations. I advised the receptionist of my cancellation by showing her the email but I was still charged for 2 separate bookings. Since this was a online booking in both cases I feel that the communication between the hotel and the online company(agoda) need to more time efficient. It is evident that there is a problem since 2 other guest in our group had the same problem. To make things right I am requesting for the other room charge to be removed from my credit card statement.

            Although the room and location were great, I particularly enjoyed the friendly and professional staff. Knowing about the upfront deposit and cost of parking while booking would have been a plus however cash reimbursement while checking out is a great policy versus EFT. I would definitely visit again.

            Booked 14-26June 2018 with my other half..Our stay was Pulchritudinous,..Marvelous..Beckoning..Captivating...Adorable..Prepossessing..Dazzling..Amazing HOWEVER NEVERTHELESS....Communication between Agoda and Property Management needs to be improved. Requested through Agoda "Online Manage Booking" Romantic / HoneyMoon Gateaway, nothing was arranged had to move in after 16:00 on the 14th of JULY to room 729 while flowers etc were being stocked in...... Booked extension from 25-26 June Property Management claimed they did not receive the message from AGODA had to be moved from 803 to 604. Left a message for Property Manager when I checked out even today I never received a two rands two minutes call....

            In the midst of a severe water crisis this hotel is using napkins. When we addressed this with the staff a gentleman who I can only assume is the duty manager, said in order to keep the star rating they would continue to use the napkins. I wonder what would happen to their star rating without water???? Other 5 star hotels have already done away with napkins and opted for disposable napkins. Other than that I found the hotel to be a pleasant stay.

            If we had known the Hilton was nearby, would have preferred. Changed reservations for day early arrival and early checkin, a month in advance. Upon arrival, Lodge charged regular rate, instead of adding to group and did not honor early checkin. Lodge did not arrange for additional staff, for group of 25 for dinner, therefore wait time was extremely long. Food order was wrong, The bathtub was a foot -high step-in with no handle to hold on to (slipped and almost fell). Design flaw; only half shower door, one has to stand directly under the shower, otherwise water would go all over the floor. Facebowl was clogged, slow drain and room had a power outage. Check-out is at 11:00am. Requested a 30 minute late checkout and was denied. Key deactivated promptly at eleven. One person's room key was deactivated 10 minutes before and could not get back in to retrieve rest of his luggage. Would never stay at this place again. Also, fee for currancy coversion is high.

            The hotel is in a great location and the prices are fair. However, guests receive their first impressions when arriving at reception and that is something the hotel should remind their staff. I arrived to the reception arguing with 2 different guests about a situation and in the mean time, I was completely ignored. The reception staff need to be more attentive, helpful and welcoming

            Very average. + good location; breakfast was decent - You have to pay for parking and wifi; I was "upgraded" to a loft apartment, not really a loft, they just installed a wooden ceiling in the kitchen and called it a loft, appliances and fridge was very old; they could definitely put some fabric softener when washing towels and robes. If it wasn't for the location i would have been very disappointed.

            We were only at the hotel for an evening, but everything was great - parking, staff, room etc. Only complaint is the craft beer at the bar was VERY expensive. Otherwise we had a good all round experience.

            The worst service experienced! ”
            They refuse to give us new towels, even though I left the dirty ones on the floor. I manage a construction site so it would only be normal to want to have a hot shower after work. But that can’t happen since I have to call them every evening for new towels. Another issue was the replenishment of the milk and coffee, every evening same story. Call to have them replenished. But the worst was having to call them to ensure that my husband and I sleep on a bed, together. That was met with a response of, “Listen here when you make a late booking you cannot expect to get the room or bed you want, I will leave a message to the Day staff, if they do it, don’t do it, I don’t know. I am not here so I cannot promise you anything” Please tell me in what hotel is such a response normal????
